| Zig Man, there's so much stuff to start with, but I would rec Miles' Kind of Blue; Coltrane's My Favorite Things; Duke Ellington At Newport; and Dave Brubeck's Time Out. A nice starter pack.

 | mindleviticus Curious what you meant in your mini-review. Liszt didn't even start writing music until mid 1830's, and this was made in 1831 how can it be cliche? He was one of the first in the romantic period to make stuff like this. It would be cliche if someone like Olafur Arnalds made it. I mean I totally get what you mean sound-wise if you're listening to it after listening to other similar works, but it's just confusing.

| Havey it is simply the grossest. curious, you chose to review it without even mentioning the b-flat major quartet. guessing you prefer to listen to it as a standalone work, and op 130 with the replacement finale?

| Pon Glad you liked it. The second movement always stood out for me thanks to that saccharine little motif that anchors the whole thing. I'm generally not a fan of romanticism but I always liked Dvorak's work as it tended not to have the bombast and schmaltziness I associate with the era.
