| supremejelly Can't believe the last comment we'll ever see on that thread is my s***ty joke
| TheSpaceMan Merry Christmas Ghost, hope you're with fam
| Groundking They're only chasing safety speaks to all the dead bits in me, now off to obsessing over that album again for a week...
| Groundking It's true and you know it. The only thing it's good for is drunken wailing in a club/pub, and even then most pop from the past 10 year's isn't even good enough for that.
| StarlessCore i like all 3, cruel bloom def the best of those
| StarlessCore kurt isnt too melodic on crashing its like kinda a mix of what hed do on no heroes and atf...no heroes kinda sinister dark af s***, atf thrash till ya drop
| StarlessCore lol we on opposite wave lengths i guess man...kurt fell off guitar-wise after atf (kinda just non existent on this new album for me). ATF has his best riffs like from their newer stuff but idk comes crashing doesnt have as like many melodic riffs but the songs r way better/harder idk
| StarlessCore wish they played shame in the way from it live...but anyway come on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgcqNJtDPKk
| Groundking But I never listen to it anymore haha. Will admit she was totally my crush as a kid
| Darius The Imposter I was genuinely surprised, it's well written, atmospheric, and professionally produced. I thought it'd be a crock of s***.
| Darius The Imposter would it tick you off to know that I jammed Lost salt blood purges and it's actually really good
| hal1ax lol ya. so entertaining
| hal1ax true. dude cracks me up tho. redefining political comportment since 2016!
| hal1ax lmao --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cQcmp4iWQU
| Oxx i'd go as far as to say it's one of the less influential factors
| Oxx depression is only one cause of unhappiness.
| Oxx there isn't really a catch-all metric but the one's i look to are ppp gdp/capita, gini coefficient, poverty statistics and, as arbitrary as it may seem, self-perception(s) of happiness (answers to questions of: do you consider yourself happy? how do you consider your state of living?).
| Oxx hours worked are down as a result of casualisation and automation of unskilled labour for the most part. those working office jobs lead stress-filled, around-the-clock lives and end up smoking themselves to death in order to get through the day-to-day grind, and those (un)fortunate few that work easier jobs are often at odds with overrostering and lack of available shifts and the consequent difficulties of sustaining themselves and family. it's easy to look at silver linings, but hell...
| Oxx and clear previously populated land for the purpose of agriculture, the process of reclaiming land renders it barely capacitant for the purpose (and horrifically inefficient compared to untouched farmlands). agriculture needs a revolution tbh. we've become so obsessed with hedonism that we've lost touch with sustainability.
| Oxx the question of productivity with agriculture comes with the implied cost of ethics (are we willing to look beyond the cognition of an organism just so that we can eat it), and even irrespective of that, regardless of increases in productive yield, there will forever exist the requirement for arable land in agriculture, and with an ever-growing population and ever-degrading climate, that requirement will become harder and harder to fulfil. even if we were to replace houses with skyscrapers....
| Oxx i'd hardly call life expectancy an indicator of living standards tbh. if anything it indicates that medicine's come a long way, but that really means nothing when we all could be living on life support relative to the indulgences of the past.
| Oxx advent of technology, but it has only really enabled us greater access to information and luxuries, rather than sustenances and necessities. so while yes the standard of living has improved, I wouldn't call it an altogether beneficial increase in the standard (as a lot of these improvements have allowed human laziness -- and thus contributed to our newfound obesity and lack of general physical prowess).
| Oxx I feel like that view is definitely naive. on the one hand (tying into your point about the beginning of the 20th century), excluding the manifest great depression (which was a recession of the likes we've never seen since), class divides were much narrower then than they are now, and in terms of access to necessities (food, water, shelter), there was minimal difference (and in terms of housing, it was probably more accessible then than now). ofc the standard of living had improved with the....
| Oxx the divide between upper middle and upper is not the problem though, it is the divide between the upper middle and the middle/lower-middle/lower (which are seemingly merging into one large lower class).
| Oxx those are very utopian views dude lmao. we can't even sort out the problem of religio-fascism.
| Oxx I really struggle to see us maintaining living standards with the current population size and growth and the consequent strain on agricultural process (which is further exacerbated by the climate change-driven desertification of large parts of the world). unless we start capping the population (which seems unlikely given china's now relaxed the one child policy) farmland's going to fall victim to either residential construction or pollution, and without it we're largely ****ed.
| Oxx the disparities will be less noticeable at the macroeconomic level (third world countries won't be SO far behind the developed world), but the aggregate living standard will most likely stagnate (possibly even decline a bit in the more advanced economies), and the intercontinental disparities in living standard will be replaced by greater divisions in the socioeconomic classes and a growing disparity in living standards between them.
| Oxx I wouldn't call it hording of money so much as hording of assets. at the end of the day redistributions of wealth to favour the upper class inevitably results in a decrease in the velocity of money and the speed at which it circulates (as a lot of it is sunk into interest accruing/non-productive assets), which ultimately results in a decrease in aggregate economic activity, which in turn leads to increases in unemployment (so ultimately the poor suffer and the rich prosper -- oh what a model).
| Lord(e)Po)))ts yeah, at my new job very soon ill be designing custom s*** for bands and independent businesses and getting to get really experimental, and we are turning a van into a print-mobile so we can go live print at festivals and the beaches during the summer. and im sure ull end up in a good spot, changing directions can make ya feel like a fish out of water for a bit
| Lord(e)Po)))ts yeah that plan was honestly a bit of escapism. like i certainly wanted to do it but it was kind of a solution i made just to kind of give myself something to do and a reason to leave canada but then i got my new job and it really kind of focused my ideas of where i want to be in the next 5 years
| hal1ax yea that makes sense. cool thx. i'll check that site
| hal1ax ah you're saying it's never been able to be fairly tried because ppl skirting / exploiting the laws? i read some friedman and hayek recently cuz i;ve been trying to get a better feel for this stuff
| hal1ax less tax burden almost invariably benefits employees and the company as a whole , which in turn benefits the economy yea. ppl just see exorbitant wealth and immediately are aggrieved. god forbid we unshackle some of these corporations which are employing thousands of ppl. also what do u think about the laffer curve?
| hal1ax yea it certainly seems fairly tempered. lot of ppl (around where i live anyway) complaining about the corporate tax cuts. how do u feel about the trickle-down economic paradigm ? and yea i think u are absolutely right. i feel like tax reform is usually a pretty central issue for republicans and they felt like they needed to cram something through, and especially with healthcare getting axed
| hal1ax any opinions on the current tax bill in the works atm?
| PerfumeFrog i mean i'll drink anything these days. hell, i'll even go the good ol' jack and beer even though it tastes worse than stank puss
| PerfumeFrog tbh i only go with gin because the burn isn't too bad when it's chilled and it don't leave too much of a breath scent
| TheSpaceMan and to your second point, thats why I say if you're 16 you should be able to consent to someone at most 2 years of age on you. you could play with those numbers, say 15 and 4. but yeah the law is there to prevent a 50 year old ****ing a 15 year old
| TheSpaceMan no thats true, but they aare pushing as the outliers. but it isnt an issue of attractiveness or body development, its judgement and status as an adult
| TheSpaceMan There are for sure some young jail baits out there, but when I recall my mental capacity as a freshie in HS it just seems unethical to pursue.
| TheSpaceMan apparently you cant use the word " del ete" in a shoutbox
| TheSpaceMan did you your list? are you banned? would you **** a 15 y.o?
| klap Lol ya, tbh law school taught me like two things useful. All about that real life experience. Such a scam
| klap Haha at least a year. But I?ve only been practicing since 2014. Fake it till u make it imo
| neekafat I'm sorryyyyyyy I feel like we've had this conversation before haha
| neekafat " I thought your name was GhostOfSarcasticBIRD" [2]
| Darius The Imposter Is it a bad thing that for the longest time I thought your name was GhostOfSarcasticBIRD? lol. I have perfect vision too.
| borealice obviously the interplay is what made them the band they were and all that
| borealice i could go back and listen to that, but like Wade brought a lot of the punk to their sound, dallas just had a few really good choruses imo
| borealice dallas is talented but not the essential prodigy that fans make him out to be imo
| borealice george's peak was watch out! imo, he sounded really raw and powerful there but it was a long way down from there. wade had some good parts on that record too, been ages since I listened tho
| borealice I like ****ed up george tbh, he destroyed his voice tho....dallas's guitar contributions might be underrated, hard to say, he just gives me major douche chills. Wade has a great voice imo, a bit underutilized tho
| borealice wade and george were the real talents in that band and you know it
| borealice "whiny bitch".....irony coming from a dallas fan i think
| borealice good bnad....less dallas so that is always nice
| ghostboi club night power combo is mdma levitra. just hope you ain't got heart problems.
| ghostboi I mean molly acts as a bit of a stim too so energy isn't really a problem
| ghostboi on molly you can spend like 3 hours pounding away for nothing
| ghostboi idk if I don't wanna cum I'll just pop a molly tbh
| ghostboi tbh for me the problem is I'll do my job first so by the time I'm lookin to nut they worn out and can't be bothered
| ghostboi tbh for the most part I don't even ask for weird s***, I just like not having to beg for head
| ghostboi tbh it doesn't take much convincing. just a bit of affection and a bit of apathy
| ghostboi I feel bad because a lot of them have anxiety issues but idk i don't need anymore reasons to hate myself
| ghostboi lowkey I've taken to manipulating girls with low self-esteem because they're willing to do more
| ghostboi drugs are my determinism, loathing is my lifestyle
| ghostboi I was but then I realised I just kinda wanna end so yeah why not run instead of limp like a bitch
| ghostboi in short: spent about 2 months clean, gf told me she liked me better on the sauce so I started back up, then broke it off with her over something idk and now I'm just running through tinder thots like it's my occupation
| hal1ax bummer. i couldn't even believe that negative ad i saw ran against gillespie. the one with the big truck sporting the confederate flag trying to run down the minority children lmao. ludicrous
| ghostboi damn idk if i'd be able to log in then tbh
| ghostboi I thought I gave you the password for that one
| ghostboi listen to Some areal music not even gonan sugarcoat
| ghostboi was meant to **** some tindred tot late night but she got laost and started cryiG
| ghostboi I do pop flats but we are not one and the same dadly
| ghostboi I Bash my Meat to Victoria's Secret Batwalk speicapls if that'/ what's you mean
| ghostboi yeah that's geographically inaccurate
| ghostboi who do you THINK you're tlaking too?
| ghostboi man idek what I'm saying i'' ****ing high
| ghostboi I guess that's the seventh degree of separation
| ghostboi no I just m/ hard and you're week
| hal1ax you're from VA ya? just read about the sweeping dem victory in the state. was that to be expected or was it considered an upset? i know VA went dem in 2016 but i wasn't sure by how much.
| Lord(e)Po)))ts same! started a new business with just a couple other people and hired one of my best buds from when i lived in vic and moved him over here to live with me cuz hes a good printer and he's on the same level as us of "thou shalt always be baked as good golly and chill af". basically am sculpting my dream job right now, we have a lot of cool s*** planned and i have more time to do more design and experimenting etc, making new techniques and working with bands and local businesses to make some
| Darius The Imposter Lol is it THAT BAD? he seems like he put a lot of genuine effort into it (I could totally see it being trash tho tbh)
| TheSpaceMan ha yeah i had rough time falling asleep last night. not sure why.
| TheSpaceMan Beats a new job starting off mundane, but glad to hear you're making some new moves
| Rowan5215 can I finish the Twilight Zone first?
| Rowan5215 I mean it has never dipped again to "Joe dancing in the rain in Season 1" bad. has one of the most solid turn-arounds of any show I've seen from S1 to 2 honestly
| Rowan5215 I can't say I noticed a dip in the writing quality imo, although this season definitely takes longer to get going than the previous two. I like that it's not just a ****in continuous series of kicks to the groin like Season 2 was though. great season of TV but I wanted to kill myself after every episode it was so grim
| Rowan5215 counterpoint, the last three episodes are the best episodes of the show, and prolly some of the best TV I have ever seen tbh
| Rowan5215 I'm like a week late on this but S4 of Halt and Catch Fire is the best season by far, how can you not like it?? did you see the ending?
| JeetJeet Whewwww that was hard as bricks. Gonna have that on replay for a while
| Sowing I mean I was listening and like uhuh uhuh pretty nice, then BAM. That song just smacks the boredom off your face and makes you grin widely.
| Sowing damn, that second track in melancholia...
| Orb hahaha cheers m8. I already got all those queued up in my 2017-yet-to-be-jammed playlist on itunes already to boot!
| Orb ain't even mad homie, he's a divisive character. Got any 2017 rec's for a pal while we're at it?
| Orb thems are some fine ratings u got there
| EphemeralEternity you're like the only one who hasn't ventured onto discord stubborn bastard
| PistolPete Much appreciated for asking for the feature! I think somebody's review for this had already been featured but regardless nice to hear what I'm writing is being received ok
| hal1ax Haha so true. Such irony-impairment man it blows me away.
| hal1ax Sh1t is just so overblown. Despite all this ridiculous precaution, guarantee you when it comes down to putting these idiotic antifa kids in bracelets and hauling their asses off, they will be told to stand down. Happens almost every time.
| hal1ax lol ya Bay Area is ridiculous man. Nexus for delusional, militant ass progressives over there. http://www.dailywire.com/news/21070/build-wall-berkeley-puts-concrete-barriers-all-daily-wire Haha a fckin wall. Like us Shapiro even that polarizing of a figure? Not like he's Richard Spencer or some shi
| nocuffin i can't lie, i ****ing HATE joanna newsom lol
| nocuffin ebay (!!!!) definitely, and then probably blood rain, creepin, dragonfly, like a virgin, psycho and plastic surgery
| nocuffin i'd say my fave lean song is probably pearl fountain... you'd def dig oreomilkshake if you like kyoto.
| nocuffin oh woah didn't expect you to like kyoto that much.
| nocuffin to be fair i'm much the same about rbs (just because the melody doesn't feel quite right), but i can definitely see you vibing with the more relaxed, poppy side of lean's sound
| nocuffin red bottom sky and hennessy and sailor moon are probably your type of jams
| polyrhythm Her voice is definitely an acquired taste, I get that. I find delayed melodic gratification to be the best thing ever tbh, eluding and evading you for a while and then BAM, earsex
| polyrhythm Personally, I adore a quarter-hour orchestral sprawl where lyrics and melodies from the 2min mark are reintroduced ten minutes later... but if you want more focused 3-5 min Joanna songs, jam one of her other albums. They're all great.
| polyrhythm Well nothing on that list is toothless redneck yee-hawing or soft grandma music. It all reimagines and deconstructs folk in a creative, engaging, sonically interesting and aesthetically pleasing way.
| nocuffin nigga check this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHQNEfegi24
| EphemeralEternity oh wait we've been beaten to the punch. well we snoozed , we losed.
| EphemeralEternity *Sight* feel obligated to offer my proof reading services now, considering you think so highly of my syntax
| polyrhythm Fab, did you check anything from my sad white gurlz list? There's some gold on there if you haven't already heard it
| TheSpaceMan Yeah thanks, I'm gonna be inside my apartment all day tomorrow. Tampa is right in the wall's path.
| polyrhythm DLed it from the soviets, rutracker is your friend
| Rowan5215 your Gang of Youths rating allows you one cheeky comment, but I will need to speak to your manager if it happens again. this song is cool but the vocals are a little, idk, whiny for me
| Rowan5215 I've never heard of em, so probably not me? they sound like metal so you might get Game or Willie on em
| EphemeralEternity it's all yours , I haven't heard it yet don't really find reviewing to be very enjoyable if i'm completely honest. I can **** with soundoffs or parodic ones e.g. the feldaman review , but i've tried to write the full lengths before and end up losing interest by like the 2nd para. Think I can thank my ADD for this one.
| hal1ax Lmao. Ya Na I hate that dude. I was just busting up at the whole "the alt right thinks they own obscure Japanese video games ... but obscure Japanese video games are for everyone" haha. Like wow what morally upright ideologues lol. Vegan isis also made me giggle.
| hal1ax I typically detest this dude but this is actually pretty hilarious --- http://www.dailywire.com/news/20529/watch-even-trevor-noah-ripping-antifa-amanda-prestigiacomo
| Futures ye i know haha. got any 2017 recs?
| Futures gonna hang a little and write some more. didn't know where else to go lol. how are you doing?
| hal1ax yea definitely. i think the media has skewed the prevalence of a lot of that stuff tbh but still scary that it still exists in this country at all. even more scary to think about how countervailing groups like antifa are just exacerbating the problem.. like fckin weimar republic circa 1920s lol.
| hal1ax not to mention the giant schism existing in the american left between the pseudo-humanitarian, identity-politic-centric corporatist leftys and the soft-socialist sanders-esque leftys. i suppose there is a third wing -- the leftys who don't buy into the tribalistic, identity politics bs and who still uphold and value the constitution and the preservation of individual liberties but tbh i only know like 3 of those people.
| hal1ax ye that makes sense. traditional conservatism is definitely very rigid and waspish in certain social aspects. i always used to just tell ppl i was economically//fiscally conservative and libertarian//centrist on most social issues. but i think your classifier term is much simpler and would prob garner less confused stares. and ye american neo-left is in such disarray rn lol. they've lost their grip on a coherent world view amidst the tribalism, rabid anti-trump zealotry, and middle-class shaming
| hal1ax Ahhhh ok I got it. Yep I'm basically same as u then. Though I'm a deist rather than an atheist.
| hal1ax Right-wing libertarian then ?
| hal1ax Aye. It's quite the predicament. You're not a conservative ?? I'm confused.
| hal1ax What's your take on trump's Afghan policy ?? Seems to be pretty divisive amongst conservatives
| hal1ax Ah yea I feel you. A lot of his videos tend to dwell on both trans//speech issues and exposing and ripping on postmodernism lol, and I don't particularly care about either. But the videos I've seen where he has actually expounded upon personality / psychology, in a political context, have been pretty great.
| hal1ax Ya totally. You familiar with Jordan Peterson at all? Been getting into that dude lately too.
| hal1ax Yea same here tbh. I mean he's kinda irritatingly rigid sometimes, but I agree with him politically for the most part. I love how informative his podcasts are. He actually delves into a lot of law, political history, and unpacks some of the more abstruse policies. He's a total dork but I like em lol.
| hal1ax Lol ye. That's Shapiro's site. Some pretty funny stuff on there sometimes.
| hal1ax http://www.dailywire.com/news/20089/oops-antifa-beats-hell-out-fellow-protester-they-amanda-prestigiacomo /// when you're this stupid, you're bound to eat your own at some point.
| Flugmorph Your arguments on how they are a bad band are ridiculous. Some people on here including you shouldn't even have opinions especially when you guys act like assholes about it. Ironically BSC are doing excellent on tour and are gaining mad respect and recognition from famous vocalists like Corey Taylor. Get reckt bitch.
| hal1ax alright no giveaways but let me just say this: prob one of my all time fav episodes. possibly the best ep since Hardhome in s5 imo.
| hal1ax i have it paused at like 4min in because i remembered i needed to do laundry lol. i'm going to continue watching in about an hour.
| hal1ax yea this season has been phenomenal. i always encounter people trying to hate it, like it's getting too big for its britches or something but it's always such forced, shallow critique. i'm so pumped on the ragtag cadre beyond the wall... that final scene with the hound, tormund, jon, and the lot. and i wonder if jon is going to discover his true targaryan genealogy this season... fck so exciting
| hal1ax lol idk how people can forego watching the leak. maybe i'm just an abnormally impatient person. but yea finale coming up sooooon. hopefully it's a biggy -- 90-120min would be nice.
| hal1ax yoyo GoT episode 6 leaked today. it's on piratebay, if you're into that sorta thing. watching it now actually.
| polyrhythm Glad you stuck wit it, definitely an album than reveals itself to you over a few listens. Can't think of many faves of mine that didn't play hard-to-get actually. Maybe that "eureka" moment is part of what makes them so special, when you crack through the opaque outer layer and get to the creamy filling.
| StarlessCore lol im a huge converge fan i just rate things tight
