  • Feather Love that you only review things positively haha. Aside from Panic! and even that one you gave a generous score

  • Dewinged hey Chris, sorry for the late reply, Ill give it a read now that things are slowly going back to normal. Thanks for your concern, man, it was a hard blow but I am slowly learning to deal with it. Happy new year!

  • Dewinged Hey Chris, how you doing my man. Yeah I've been pretty busy with work, playing with bands and real life stuff in general, haven't written anything since July or so. I read that you are in Hong Kong though, situation there seems pretty dire dude, take care of yourself! I checked your Manic review but not the other ones, I'll give them a read.

  • Dewinged I really liked 3 tracks, the rest was alright. Those 3 songs had like a nice New Pornographers vibe and maybe that's why i liked it but yeah, nice album.

  • Dewinged Hey Chris, sorry for the late reply. I haven't heard Venom prison in full yet but planning to! I think Chamber covered it already but you are always free to give your thoughts! Gonna read your other review now.

  • Dewinged Thanks man! Yeah I love the New Pornos but haven't jammed all of their stuff yet!

  • Dewinged Hey dude, I'll give it a read but so far I don't see any war going on ;) Be aware though that wriing the 21st review and specifically for that album will trigger a lot of people. Maybe you should focus your writing efforts in albums that they don't have a review or new releases? Try to introduce people to new music? Just an idea!

  • Dewinged Hey Sherlock, I've read everyone's blurbs, yours was great too! About the user's list issue, I tend to stir out of trouble when conversations like that take place, I just don't have time or any interest in engaging in discussing those matters. As per the Sophie album, I heard it back when it released and I think it's good, just not my cup of tea.

  • Sowing Could also throw the word experimental somewhere in there and it'd still be accurate
    January 9 02:36 AM
  • Sowing Ohh, gotcha. There's definitely grunge elements but even more folk and dark, atmospheric alt-rock. I'd say dark folk-rock is probably the best descriptor.
    January 9 02:35 AM
  • Sowing Plus Daisy has way more lyrical depth to unravel than I think anyone knew at the time. It's got a very mystical air about it; very creepy, dark, stuff.
    January 8 07:52 PM
  • Sowing Not entirely sure what you mean, like 2000s as in 2000-2009, or just since their inception (2000-present)? Either way it's a broad question, but obviously I love the band and am keen on all their works - especially TDAG, Daisy, and SF. Daisy is truly one of the most underrated albums in recent memory; its abrasive style and lyrical simplicity relative to its predecessor gave it a rep for being merely above average at the time, but it's aged remarkably well.

  • Jom Thanks for your interest with the Global list! At least one of your submissions is unclaimed, so would you still be interested in writing for the feature? If so, would you be cool with e-mailing me (or vice versa) to avoid spoilers? Cheers!

  • Sowing People will absolutely make tasteless jokes. You should do it anyway and just be prepared.

  • Dewinged Nope actually it's the first time I am acquainted with her. I'm a fan of kronos quartet though. That album with her is certainly very good man, would recommend.

  • Dewinged Anytime man. And yes, Imagine Dragons is garbage. Daughters, I won't lie to you, I thought it was good, but not for me. I dig some tracks but it's just not my cup of tea.

  • Dewinged Hey Sherlock, yeah it's been a long time, how are you doing man, I don't remember any war with you haha Sorry to hear your mid-term didn' go too well, here's hope that you can lift that up in the finals. About recs, you may enjoy Royal Tusk's latest, "Tusk II", good alt rock album, aside f alt rock...The new Vola or Coheed and Cambria are also worth checking!

  • ScuroFantasma There certainly are (:
    October 1 07:45 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Sure, you can use a pseudonym.
    September 30 08:31 AM
  • ScuroFantasma No problem (:
    September 3 01:49 AM
  • ScuroFantasma It will not affect the rating of the album, no. It will affect the approval rating, but it might go up or down depending on the approval of the reviews that you remove.
    September 2 07:34 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Are you asking about having some reviews removed? If so, yeah it could have impact your approval rating, but only in that it will take away the "yes" or "no" votes cast on the review removes, so the approval could go up or down depending on which ones are removed.
    September 2 02:24 AM
  • ScuroFantasma No problem (: to italicise just use this method: [i ]word[/i ] without the spaces between the brackets. For bold just replace "i" with "b".
    July 22 12:53 AM
  • ScuroFantasma No I wouldn't worry about the objectivity score, it's absolutley meaningless. No one cares about it, I wouldn't suggest changing your ratings for the sake of it. There's no consequences either (:
    July 21 12:59 AM
  • ScuroFantasma It's based on how evenly you have rated across all possible scores, so if you have an equal number of 5's, 4.5's, 4's etc. you have a 100% objectivity. If you're like me and don't use the lower ratings much you get a lower objectivity.
    July 20 10:43 AM
  • ScuroFantasma No problem (: Good luck with it.
    June 10 03:28 PM
  • ScuroFantasma Cool, I'll check it out as soon as I get a chance. Most people start out doing track by track reviews, but trust me, the community here tends to judge them poorly and it's a very limiting style. As you may be able to see it's often difficult to make a good argument about an album when it is fragmented and you're forced two write something long and clunky, think of it like reviewing a movie scene by scene compared to critiquing the film as a whole.
    June 10 08:52 AM
  • ScuroFantasma Great (: I'll take a look at it now.
    June 10 12:13 AM
  • BlushfulHippocrene Hey man, left some comments in the proofreading thread if you're interested.
    June 8 02:27 AM
  • ScuroFantasma If you're interested in me doing so, simply post your next review in the proofreading thread and alert me via shoutbox, I'll take a look at it and give any feedback that I can.

  • ScuroFantasma Greetings Sherlock, you seem like a nice guy so after reading through the responses on your latest review and seeing your request for proofreading in the community thread, I thought I'd offer to proofread your next review before you post it, if you would like me to do so. I notice you're not a native speaker and I fully encourage you to continue writing and improving. You have a good attitude towards reviewing and you'll only get better with practice (:

  • Dewinged Hey man, just a tip. We don't usually write in our own shoutbox. When you want to tell smth to someone go to their profile and write in their shoutbox.

  • SherlockChris9021 Guys, I would like to state a couple of things:1. I am not really a English native speaker, which means I might have some grammatical mistakes in my reviews.2. The image of a band =/= The quality of their work, so please don't lash out your emotions on my reviews and list or others'. While I do respect your opinion, please respect others as well.

  • SherlockChris9021 Hi guys, as you might notice in my MCR's Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge review, I will write a series of Emo classics review. If you do have some idea for me, please feel free to write it in the shoutbox.

  • SherlockChris9021 Hi guys, I'm a young music fanatic from Hong Kong who favours more on alternative genre such as shoegaze and emo-punk, but also loves some metal and singer-songwriters pop. Please recommend me some good music if you do have some recommendations. I will also post some album reviews irregularly, depending on my availability, and potentially post some lists in the future.Stay tuned!
