  • manosg Hey man, finally checked Visions Of Eden. Not bad at all but the drums and guitars are way too back in the mix and sound weak.

  • Phrike I know of Running Wild, been meaning to check them out for a long time now, but currently I'm not on a power metal rampage at all. Rage is pretty much the only PM band I've listened to since summer. Iron Savior is completely unknown to me though. Btw are you planning to check out the new Rage album? I've written a s***ty review for it lol, but the album's great

  • Phrike I like your Rage ratings, they're very similar to mine (although obviously I'm a bigger sucker for them than you lol). I too think The Missing Link was their best when it comes to their older era, man I was hooked onto that for weeks. Keep up the good work

  • Progmaster85 How's life man? Do you let yourself go to sleep at night thinking that Opeth is "too Progressive". And Ha if you give any Kayo Dot album less than a 3 your a moron. HAHAAHA thanks for the laughs man.

  • Progmaster85 Uhhh bro stop writing to people saying to ignore me it's really annoying and it shows that you have nothing better to do. I also can't decipher why I'm a 'tool'. It's an overused word and it means somebody is a pushover- which I am not. If you are going to troll me at least know what the words you use mean.

  • Progmaster85 "Death metal would never be there if it wasn't for Kreator". Kreator's influence is horribly miniscule you moron... most haven;t even heard of them. They were part of the thrash scene but did nothing for music for the most part. I could do this all day, for your soundoffs are stupid as are you.

  • Progmaster85 haha you are so funny please keep making me laugh. Actually the fact that you like Kamelot is humor in itself so thank you for those laughs as well.

  • Progmaster85 Dream Theater is looked at (especially by elitists) as one of the better progressive bands while also being one of the pioneering groups of the genre. For the very few who don't care for Dream Theater, they wouldn't shy away from saying how talented they are-especially petrucci. Now I am truly done, for I thought I was just having an argument with someone who understood music, just with different tastes than mine. Now your just a pathetic waste of skin. Oh my god lol Shadows Fall.
    December 18 12:46 AM
  • Progmaster85 "worse than anything John Petrucci has ever put out" AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG I'm done. While I disagreed with MANY of your opinions, to be quite honest, you didn't have such a bad taste in music. This comment which claims that Petrucci is a bad guitar player is probably the dumbest thing you have ever said. And dont give me that bulls*** "He just shows off", well **** you if you have a copious amount of talent as he does, you should be able to integrate that into one of your songs.
    December 18 12:43 AM
  • Progmaster85 also, The Art of Balance is pathetic as hell. The vocals are god darn awful, but it's Brian so what do you expect? There is only one solo on the album, but they use that same solo with that same effect in every song. The riffs borrow from each other constantly. Your taste sucks besides the Fates Warning love, get over it. You are not an elitist, you are a dick.
    December 18 12:37 AM
  • Progmaster85 lol Mastodon is average... you can't call yourself a musical elitist either, by any means, simply because you overrate stupid bands that spew nothing but cliche and boring nonsense like Kamelot and Stratovarius. You are laughable.
    December 18 12:35 AM
  • Progmaster85 agreed for the most part, but I do enjoy 2 or 3 of their old albums. The rest is just watered down in an attempt to sell more records. Insomnium isn't average either... they are actually a great band but they are in no way incredible. I do enjoy their tasteful acoustic work also, they make it fit within the actual song perfectly for the most part. Still not awesome though... Above the Weeping World had to many superfluous tracks on it, and the album altogether was too long for what it was.
    December 18 12:04 AM
  • Progmaster85 k bro... Would you like some cheese on your Kamelot???
    December 17 11:55 PM
  • Progmaster85 " (look at Insomnium's Song of the Forlorn Son, a masterpiece)"- oh my god you are so full of yourself they are a great melo-death band and nothing more
    December 17 11:19 PM
  • Progmaster85 dude shut up already... Symphony X takes what people like Bach and Mozart wrote and turned it into a style all their own. They only have a few epics, which are very tasteful and well done, unlike the 10 minute load of crap "In the Grooves of Death" on the Insomnium album. Dream Theater contains some of the best musicians I've ever heard in my life, and Metallica did more for music than any bulls*** pussy ass band you listen to. I'm done talking to you now, because you bore me
    December 17 11:17 PM
  • bullettoothtony thanks you, and yes, he is a ****in noob, like 90 percent of all the other users on it, but thanks
    December 17 09:23 PM
  • Progmaster85 NOW you sound stupid because most power metal fans on the site cite Symphony as one of the best... also one of the highest rated power metal bands on the site, not that that matters all the time, but now you truly sound ****ing retarded.
    December 17 03:48 PM
  • Progmaster85 Symphony x is definitely the best power metal band I have ever heard. Even though they are not strictly power metal, they are often called: "Neo-classical Power-prog".
    December 14 10:04 PM
  • Progmaster85 I also see you rated Symphony X's Damnation game, which is simply not a good album. Listen to the Divine Wings of Tragedy.
    December 14 10:03 PM
  • Progmaster85 also, Metallica has 9 studio albums, and by rating 3 of their albums a '5', I rated 1/3 of their discography perfect, not half. Now that we have established that you don't know math, I think you should stop.
    December 14 10:03 PM
  • Progmaster85 dude I'm just messing with you relax. I'm a Metallica fan boy, and while studying music and the 1980's, I Realized what Metallica did for music.
    December 14 08:21 PM
  • Progmaster85 "If a band like Opeth would dismiss of the useless extra minutes of a song".You sir, are a moron.
    December 14 03:21 AM
  • Progmaster85 Sorry, you just fail. No need to further explore that statement, because it is so blatantly evident. Good day to you sir, enjoy thinking that Insomnium= life.
    December 14 03:19 AM
  • Progmaster85 Shadows Fall= FAIL lol
    December 7 04:13 AM
  • Progmaster85 Ahh, wrong yet again. I don't have a limit on heaviness, but some of these bands, for example in deathcore, like suicide silence, simply use heaviness as an alternative for quality. They don't play any riffs for the most part, just fast chord changes with machine gun drumming. I understand the bands I put down aren't straight up death metal, some are melo-death/ prog-death, but I said that to him to make a point. Bands like Cannibal Corpse use brutality in vocals as a substitute for creativity.
    December 4 03:55 PM
  • Progmaster85 and no you fail at death metal. First, I see you like Insomnium which is a band I suggested. I also see you like Dark Tranquility, another excellent band I suggested. Are you gonna tell me that talentless 'brutal for the sake of brutal' bands like Possessed, Cannibal Corpse are superior to death metal bands whose music contains depth and actual impressive use of instruments?
    December 4 01:21 AM
  • Progmaster85 To Live is To Die was before St. Anger man. If you're gonna bash Metallica, which you are welcome to do, you should back it up with fact.
    December 4 01:14 AM
  • Progmaster85 I must say I strongly disagree with you. Metallica helped revolutionize a genre while most of the tracks on Shadows Fall's Art of Balance are weak. Every solo is virtually the same, the songs do nothing beyond the genre that they are in, and it's just, you know average. I prefer Shadows later stuff.
