| Jots drop into the contrib forum when you get a chance
| Arcade your Boy in da Corner review has made me want to listen to Dizzee Rascal again i hope your happy
| luci love your basement jaxx coverage on this site. started getting into them bc of disclosure love and i'm amazed, this s*** would be huge if it came out today
| Arcade i think klap's got dibs on it so we both might as well post reviews for it
| Tunaboy45 I think it's a really strong album, most consider it to be an improvement/return to form after Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned.
| Tunaboy45 Hey not sure if you take suggestions but Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy is seriously lacking a quality review (I know Dev technically reviewed it but that was the special edition).
| ChoccyPhilly Hey, what do you plan on doing with the 'For Tomorrow' series once you complete it?
| Guzzo10 At some point, you and I are going to have ourselves a nice conversation about Kendrick Lamar's new album.
| VengeanceCactus Dude, you're the best damn writer on this entire site. Keep up the fantastic quality of reviewing!
| SPRFanOf5H Hey Ben, I know your a contributor and everything but I'd thought I ask regardless. I'd appreciate if if you can give me your output in where I stand as a writer and if you can offer me advice or anything. I don't wanna take time out of ur weekend so hit me whenever
| Tunaboy45 Fair enough, I thought the singles were ok but nothing mind blowing
| sublimefan1991 Hey man, read all your Em reviews. It's almost eery how much I agree with your views on Em haha. Anyway, that said, I'm trying to get some of my rap stuff out there, so I feel like you're the type of guy I'm looking to share it with. Let me know what you think manggg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rn1fzDxD48E
| ZackSh33 Hey man - just posted a Stone Roses review and thought you might be interested. I'd appreciate anything you have to say about it!
| Futures I know you're huge on britpop right? You might want to check Gerard Way- Hesitant Alien. Really pleasant surprise.
| aok listened to ok computer on the way to work today and it's all your fault. i hope you can live with yourself
| undertakerpt Hello I heard you liked my steely dan review, please check out my limp bizkit review :)
| Jots Ok will do. Last question: when you mentioned a glimmer of voice... Perseverance, could you elaborate on what you meant?
| Jots Thanks for the pointers, definitely woildnt have thought of those things. As for the first-person thing, should I put it in brackets, or cut it out, or..?
| Jots Hey man, would you mind skimming my latest review and offering any input?
| aok http://m.pitchfork.com/news/55866-radiohead-rehearsing-recording-in-september/ . good looks amirite?
| Arcade first person I've Added on sputnik howsabout that?
| Arcade i'm the guy who just sent you a friend request if you're wondering lol
| PurpleBottle now i've got you in my space - i'm latching onto you
| Lord(e)Po)))ts haha thats cool. honestly i think it blows the 20/20 experiences out of the water for 2013 pop aoty
| Lord(e)Po)))ts haha word, i was just wondering because of your blur plays and britpop pie slice. i'm not generally into too much pop unless its eastern but that new beyonce album is probably the best american pop ive ever heard. what do you think of it?
| Lord(e)Po)))ts tricky and massive attack too. our hip hop tastes may not be too similar but mezzanine is my favourite album so we can bro out over that any day haha. are you british?
| Lord(e)Po)))ts dude its all good i was just being a **** and trying to get a rise out of ya, internet beef is a joke. we were most likely both in the wrong in that argument anyways, but hey, i respect your consciousness, shows more maturity than i've probably developed in my years so hats off to you bud lets find some common ground!
| fromtheinside i initially wanted to start off by saying what a rockin name, but no matter how i phrased that, it sounded weird. but here that goes anyway! ;) rock on tho dude
| Guzzo10 Dude, its crazy that you post that, because I have been singing, "Homicide, homicide, pray that it don't be a homicide" in my head the past three days straight. I was going to post the same thing on your shoutbox essentially. Definitely top-5 at least. Everything about that song is good.
| Mort. The Streets were pretty influential and significant enough to warrant inclusion (a grand don't come for free, or original pirate material), Pendulum were pretty significant about 9 years ago when Hold Your Colour came out and it was pretty well received and well known. (theyre aussies but they were based in UK for all of their career so id count them). Theyre the only ones that spring to mind immediately. Up to you though, but anyway im enjoying going through the series, good work.
| Mort. sup man, your guide to british music reviews are pretty interesting, whats your criteria for an album being significant enough to be part of the series?
| Futures Yep that is one of my all time favorite albums. I have only heard The Bends, Kid A and Ok Computer. I prefer the more rock Radiohead to the Kid A electronic stuff. Can't wait to listen to the rest of their albums.
| Futures I came in listening not expecting a lot because the previous day I listened to Kid A for the first time. I honestly think it is better than Kid A now. Radiohead are an incredible band.
| Futures Listening to The Bends for the first time tonight and I read your review as I was listening. Best review I have ever read honestly. You are a fantastic writer man.
| FromDaHood Congrats on the promotion. I don't read reviews very often but I do think your Chance one is pretty great
| Yuli it's possible that nobody deserves the contrib. position more than you, bud
| Crysis Congrats on the promotion!
| oltnabrick just found your youtube page (via the Young Thug - Danny Glover video). im dying at the Gunplay video XD
| oltnabrick ye, you edited it so i didn't want to look like an asshole lol
| tommygun man i am a big fan of your work, just catchin up on some of your older reviews now and they're a pleasure to read. your piece on high violet is really something
| osmark86 agreed, Dizzy Miss Lizzy is appalling but it's a Larry Williams song. Only added Act Naturally (also non-Beatles) to the mix because, well, **** that song. :P
| Guzzo10 Seems like you might have the same thoughts on MMLP2 that I did. You should check out my review man
| Sowing Thanks for the kind shout. I don't review nearly as much as I used to (which is why I asked Jeremy to make me emeritus) but I'm sure I'll still make occasional contributions. How is everything going?
| Crawl You should've reviewed Disintegration in your Brittish music guide. Great reviews, anyway
| wacknizzle Yeah I read it just forgot to drop a comment, there's one there now
| Guzzo10 What's your take on Stranger Than Fiction? I think Luca Brasi Story is better for sure. I feel like on Stranger Tan Fiction he was just trying to showcase his variety of technical skill. Jw
| jtswope Btw your 2 recent tracks The Bends and Planet Telex made me happy.
| jtswope I did many years ago when my friend played it in his car once. It was awful and I just came across a few songs from it the other day. So yeah I've heard enough to give it a rating.
| hogan900 It's nice to see someone like you on this site, read a few of your reviews and I can say your a great writer too. Getting a little tired of seeing a lot of cynical people, but at least there's still some that write with feeling. Thank you.
| Yuli that's an intelligent way of seeing it, and i know exactly what you mean. cheers, and keep up the good work
| Eloriaz Nice! I'm looking forward then =]
| Eloriaz Yeah I'm a huge fan! But I understand your surprise because Jaxx fans are kind of a rare breed on Sputnik ;P
| jtswope Not asking for pity. Just patience ;)
| jtswope Yeah I'm in Los Angeles for the next four months so my reviews will be sparse for now :(
| Yuli Yes, your most recent review read very carefully and naturally. I've noticed that you sometimes seem to write to grab the reader's attention as quickly as possible, which is a great style when done well-- and I did enjoy when you wrote that way. But you also do the encyclopedic style very well-- don't get me wrong. It's cool to see you trying out different styles, and to write in a way that feels a bit more mature to me.
| breakingthefragile Yeah, that's what I've been attempting to do and plan to keep doing. There's a ton of games and movies that really aren't too good at all but have really well-done OST's that don't even get a second thought, and I think that's pretty unfair, so I'm trying to give the hard work of these composer's some well-deserved attention as much as I can.
| breakingthefragile Hey man, sorry about getting back to the post you left on my wall like a month after the fact, but thank you for the kind words you left about my Resident Evil 6 soundtrack review! Glad to hear some feedback on my reviewing pursuit as of late. Btw, I've been following your Guide to Contemporary British Music on Badger Senate, damn good job dude!
| jtswope I'm so torn between a 4 and 4.5!!!! I freaking love Parklife, I just don't know if I can give it a 4.5 at the moment. My ratings are often temporary anyway.
| Innervisions26 Hello, thank you for your thoughts regarding my Parachutes review. I know you said it's a bit timid. I would love to do track by track and I know it pretty much is. I'm an educator and musician, so sometimes my passion makes for a long review. There is just so much I want to say, but I would love any suggestions. I hope the review wasn't too boring, as I really tried to make it decent. -Alex
| Guzzo10 Late response, but thanks a lot man. I find it ridiculous so few people have heard it on sputnik.
| xxm sorry for my repetitive posts.you are a very great reviewer and i wish you good luck in the future.have a nice day.
| Gyromania re-read the entire thing and it's good. sorry if i was harsh earlier, but the tone rubbed me the wrong way. it's refreshing to see that, unlike most people on this site, you can apply the advice people give you to your writings
| andcas I never have any hard feelings man. it's just fun to rip on certain artists.
| toxin. no problem, feel free to request feedback anytime and i'll do my best. your reviews have gotten quite good! :-)
| oltnabrick yeah waka's stuff is seriously underrated/ poorly rated on sputnik
| oltnabrick If you reviewed We Got it For Cheap vol 2 that would be great too
| Brostep sorry, I've been super busy recently. which review would you like me to look at?
| Brostep sorry, just got this. will leave feedback in a few hours
| toxin. yeah i'll check it out again when i have time
| FlattedThird Thanks for the kind words! I like yo' taste in music.
| ECRbubs "I just like the way rap came to International prominence this decade, I predict the best album of this current decade with be a rap album."-BenThorn, Feb. 20 2010MBDTF... you're right so far!
