| Voivod Seifer, i wrote about the causes that made Nevermore to break up, if you want to read them, go to the most recent Nevermore review...
| JamieTwort Haha I simply listened to it to see how bad it really was and for the lols. It was actually worse than I thought it was going to be.
| clercqie Thanks man :) It really is such a great album, nice to see people picking this up :)
| clercqie I'm a pussy in the sense that I can't stand metal :p But maybe I should give Kyuss another chance :)
| clercqie It's from the Portal 2 soundtrack. Dunno if it will be on their next album though...
| clercqie Listened to their latest? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Vg2YS-sFE
| clercqie I like your username (my fav game of all time) and your latest dig :)
| JamieTwort Yeah listening to a lot of classic prog lately, thanks.
| JamieTwort Well me, sonic, KILL and a few others got the thread for Diamond Head - Lightning to the Nations up to 100 pages by just talking about Metal in general and apparently it was considered spam. Most of the pages gotd as well.
| JamieTwort Hey, yeah haven't seen you online for ages. You haven't missed much apart from a bunch of us, including me, getting banned for a month for "going off topic" on the Diamond Head thread. Nice Trapeze rating by the way, great band.
| JamieTwort I'll check them out, I think I may have heard one or two songs by Metal Church before but I'll definitely give them another listen.
| JamieTwort If you haven't heard it I recommend checking out Jethro Tull - Stand Up, it's one of thier earlier albums and has some bluesy songs as well as thier ususal folky prog.
| JamieTwort I've been digging Jethro Tull a lot lately as well as some Exodus. Also recently got Torture - Storm Alert which is an incredible Thrash album.
| JamieTwort Sup haven't seen you online much lately.
| ImpossibleInfluence2 I'm pretty bad with genres but I've heard them called deathcore which makes sense
| ImpossibleInfluence2 It's taken me a while to get used to the singers voice but I agree about the lyrics and music on Transatlanticism.
| JamieTwort Yeah I know what you mean, 3.5's a fair rating, it was always going to get an extra 0.5 from me simply due to the fact it has Gary Moore on it. Nice Gary Moore ratings by the way.
| JamieTwort Hey check out my latest review (BBM - Around the Next Dream) pretty sure it's something you'd dig.
| JamieTwort Well upon it's release (1996) it was said to be the band's most agressive album since Never, Neverland, which I probably agree with. It's definately worth a listen although definately not as good as their first two but it has it's moments. Maybe I was a but generous with my rating but it's certainly worth a 3.5 at least IMO.
| omnipanzer I have listened to them over the years and need to get them again. I'll probably get them after I re-up my music account.
| JamieTwort I had a listen to the band the other day after you mentioned them, they're pretty good but there's so much awesome classic rock to choose from I couldn't include everything.
| omnipanzer Yah, Definitely one of the bands that transcended there decade.
| omnipanzer Jar of Flies and Dirt bumped to 5's because you are absolutely right ;^)
| JamieTwort Also if you missed it I think you'd approve of this list: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=63823
| JamieTwort Yeah listened to The Godless Endevour, great stuff.
| JamieTwort Your welcome. Yeah I haven't come across any lyrics either, great album though, although not as good as his first.
| JamieTwort Thanks man, didn't think I'd seen you around for a while. Nice Down rating by the way.
| ImpossibleInfluence2 Yeah mahavishnu is awesome. A band full of insanely good musicians who play great music. Billy cobham and john mclaughlin are huge influences on my playing
| JamieTwort Been listening to Black Country Communion, superb album!
| Defeater just stopping in to say awesome profile pic lol
| Kimm Yeah I love Anberlin and am just getting into mewithoutYou!
| Emim So do I! How ironic...
| Kimm Yeah I like the melodic stuff. I also like a lot of the Christian metalcore bands because I connect with what they're saying. But yeah I like some other stuff too! Aletheian and Extol...both some pretty solid bands.
| Emim Because I'm an ironic hipster and you just got punked what now
| Kimm If you ever decide to wonder about these things and have some questions, I'd love to hear them =]And I totally would have thought you were serious if you hadn't said lol! Haha.
| Emim Nope, my "religion" is just the lens through which I view the world.
| Emim No, God is not contained within a religion. I just read the Bible.
| Kimm You believe everything can be explained through science.I believe in things beyond human capacity to understand. I believe that God is eternal...he has no beginning or end.A plant doesn't understand the interaction that animals have with each other because it doesn't have the capacity to understand. A dog doesn't interact with other dogs the way humans interact. A fish doesn't appreciate good poetry. In the same way, humans don't understand the things of God, except what's been revealed to us.
| Emim To answer your last question to Kim: God created time, and therefore exists outside of time; a concept we really cannot imagine as we exist solely within its confines. Without time, there would be no beginning and no end.
| Kimm First finish answering my question. You say the universe came into being by compressed particles. So where dis those particles come from?
| Emim Gravity is actually the weakest of the four forces. js
| Kimm That doesn't answer my question. How did the universe come into existence?
| Kimm There's no point in getting into details when we can't even agree on the basics. My question to you is this: what was the first thing to exist and how did it come into existence?
| Kimm Can you explain what you mean by that?Btw you're free to end the discussion whenever you choose to. I don't want you to think I'm forcing my beliefs on you.
| Kimm It's funny, people say that I'm ignorant and that I'm just a blind follower of what I've been taught...and yet here you are, not even knowing the theory I believe and you probably think I'm crazy. It makes me so sad, people have no clue where life came from.
| Kimm By "young Earth" Josh is referring to the belief that the Earth is not billions of years old. Close to 6,000 actually.
| JamieTwort Yeah, listened to a few songs they're pretty cool. What album would you suggest downloading?
| Nagrarok Of course you can, you don't always have to understand lyrics to enjoy the music (though the lyrics are pretty important in this band's case). But still.
| JamieTwort Much cleaner vocals than say Kreator but harsher than Heathen at times. Act III's definately worth downloading.
| ImpossibleInfluence2 It took me a long time to get into them too. It's weird how you like different bands at different times in your life
| JamieTwort Couple of nice and heavy recs as requested: Down - Nola, Death Angel - Act III or Relentless Retribution.
| ImpossibleInfluence2 I love as the roots undo and Houdini's logic is an awesome song.I've been listening to converge a lot lately
| JamieTwort Hey, haven't been on here for a while, yeah Formation... rules as do Voivod and i'll check out The National at some point.
| JamieTwort Hey man, i notice you like The Allman Brothers, check out Gov't Mule if you haven't heard them. Dose and the live album The Deepest End are probably their best albums. I had a listen to Mad Season, they sound pretty cool.
| JamieTwort Yeah man, Heathen and Annihilator rule! And I'm glad you liked Gary Moore, he's a legend.
| JamieTwort I've heard quite a bit of Pearl Jam, I like them just never got into them big time. I'll check out the other band, thanks.
| JamieTwort Will do, it's also worth checking out some og Gary Moore's rock/metal stuff, the live album 'We Want Moore' catches him at his best. Feel free to have a look at my review: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/36671/Gary-Moore-We-Want-Moore/
| JamieTwort I noticed you listen to some blues rock like Cream and Hendrix, have you ever heard anything by Gary Moore? his 90's blues stuff's the best, check out the album Still Got The Blues.
| ImpossibleInfluence2 I love city of caterpillar. Yeah mastodon is definitely heavy and fun. Crazy drumming too
| JamieTwort Your welcome, glad someone else on Sputnik is listening Sayce. I'm not sure about where to find lyrics, i've had a look and I can only seem to find lyrics for a couple of songs, i'll let you know if i find anyomore.
| JamieTwort Never been really got into Grunge, love Alice in Chains but that's about it i'm afraid!
