| Ryus this is a great decision. godspeed. pretty sure ive heard like 90% of bladees stuff but def missing a lot of yung lean material
| YankeeDudel Im doing the thing, you know how it is. Hope all is okay for you brotha. Was just looking through the old comments on my page and saw we talked a lot. Crazy its been 10 years since I was active on here, but I still rate things. Keep killin it though as I always liked your taste!
| z00sh thx they're an under-appreciated band fo sho
| Ryus sweet mate, hope you find something you dig
| JohnnyoftheWell oh yikes, hmmm anger is not rly my space these days, but moreru (unintelligible, but doesn't need to be), anisleateher or mayb flipper spring to mind
| parksungjoon yea idk im prob reaching, at this point... hope any of it helps tho
| parksungjoon if dm is fine, damonacy are kind of an interesting bdm band, rym thinks they might be 1st ever deathcore. skeleton of god were also neat, blood the german band. i wonder if the berzerker fits angry
| parksungjoon ooh i also like thorns grymyrk demo more than a lot of bm fans it seems haha. and on a tangential note anaal nathrakh could be worth a try with their black/grind/indu combination
| parksungjoon some proper 90s metalcore could scratch the anger itch too, acme, unruh, enewetak, gehenna usa
| parksungjoon negative approach worth checking too, maybe some 1983 nyhxc like heart attack and antidote
| parksungjoon idk if ur familiar with siege already but their one and only release kinda has the best of both worlds, short speed and anger b4 ending on some delirious my war type s***... same yr too
| Ryus oh also idk if youre into gabber/speedcore but dj tron - end of the ****ing world is insane
| parksungjoon i like controlled bleeding quite a bit but im not sure it really counts as angry, and they got a lot of releases that arent noise/pe either. what ive heard of sete star sept is kinda wild if you dont mind the speed. i feel like i should have more but at the same time ive been mostly unenthusiastic on metal lately so idk
| Ryus the vocals are def a love-hate kinda thing but i love "the cruci****s." no trend's "too many humans" and "teen love" are both fantastic. not quite as dark and angry as my other recs but you already have grief's EPs rated, i bet youd like their debut "come to grief"
| parksungjoon i really doubt i know anything dark that hasnt already been passed around on rym and mu for years... as for angry im not sure theres much notable metal stuff you havent already heard either. dragged into sunlight maybe? grind like xysma's demos and nuclear death's first couple of albums, sob's dont be swindle, prob most classic thrashcore and powerviolence like siege and hellnation
| Pheromone do it or ill slap the white off your teeth
| Pheromone ignore the rest of my shoutbox i am not trying to push this album on anyone only you - listen to my most recent rating it is amazing it is on youtube dont listen to the spotify version
| Jots great for crying in the power cage
| Jots sup cyg, i made this on the low. sending with luv https://theexitbags.bandcamp.com
| rabidfish check Triad God - Triad. It's not as abrassive or chaotic, but it's got that esoteric, dream-like, almost psychedelic vibe to it.
| rodrigo90 My bad. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
| rodrigo90 I saw the comment you made about Air in aok's chat and I found it very insulting. Their second and last album might be debatable about their quality but Moon Safari, Talkie Walkie and Pocket Symphony being BAD ALBUMS? What the heck dude.
| aok you're 100% wrong about AJR. "Bang" = a banger, "Way Less Sad" = so smooth.
| aok oo Lana Del Rey, The Beach Boys and The Beatles. You are right sometimes ..
| Pheromone ??????? ?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP85catX1Mg
| Colton 2.5 average Runeii | May 21st 21
| Colton you will answer for this
| normaloctagon thanks for being candid u still number 1 :foamfingermoji:
| Cormano sweet, will you guys use the same discord?
| Pheromone i am the process of reviewing it now sonny jim so just. you. wait
| parksungjoon crazy how obscure it seems to be... and sput has a different pola in the db but not this one lmao
| Pheromone cyg, we've hit peak gash english post-punk - check dry cleaning
| cordwainerbird *said in a carlton fesh pince voice* THE LINKS DEAD, CYG
| Cormano dude I am just seeing your post fmlwill there be another one?
| Pheromone lol these combination of influences are maybe more than on the sleeve but I love it still
| Pheromone Wow you know me so well, I loved it - album on now. It's nice because I can feel like I'm listening to a moodier smiths without a racist **** leading the lines
| normaloctagon dont know if ur into this flav of techno but the track title makes me think of u every time now https://youtu.be/WDOd9kdWiLA
| Pheromone https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/81908/Marvin-Pontiac-The-Legendary-Marvin-Pontiac--Greatest-Hits/ listen - read - listen and read - read and listen - read then listen or listen then read - read or read or listen or listen or cyg or me or rtea
| Pheromone **** me, i just got onto that peru ubu and i was sorta confused because i didn't even know they were around in 75 and modern dance is a favourite of mine. How were they so consistently ahead of their time damn so good
| hal1ax ohh danggg true. didnt even realize. i barely rated anything in 2020 tbh but have been going ham in 2021. i go on weird benders where i listen to like 10 albums a day for a while and then just stop listening to music for weeks, sometimes months lol. so strange
| normaloctagon I know it's hard babe, to sleep at night Don't you worry 'Cause everything's gonna be alright, ai-ai-ai-a'ight Be alright, ai-ai-ai-a'ight
| Pheromone By the way I super am checking that rec soon - it's been a god damn busy week. Also, what the **** are those recent jams bro haha why are you doing that to yourself
| Pheromone Black Eyes is a proper skramz post punk hybrid lmk when you check it and also rec me one of your favourite under 30 ratings albums tyvm you are a legend
| Pheromone because, in hindsight, my last rec was super un-cyg like. have you checked black eyes s/t ?
| Pheromone hello friend, check ee - ramadan, my life goal is for it to one day have 21 ratings
| GhandhiLion Hmmm, it's teetering between a 2 and 2.5 for me atm. I'm not buying the hype. The latest single is probably my fave song.
| parksungjoon i dont remember if i brought it up before but do you know the lovesliescrushing guy has a bunch of other projects too? all in largely the same wheelhouse
| parksungjoon yeah this is stuff i partially or mostly heard at the time but never properly deep dived
| parksungjoon in other words i am simply an idiot and tend to feel that "well theyve been occupying my hard drives for 6 years might as well actually hear what they sound like"
| parksungjoon eeehh its usually not the plan to listen to entire discogs. this year i've been spending a lot of time "culling" old ass downloads from my library though. sometimes you get a nice surprise in those later albums, usually it's not worth it though.
| parksungjoon since you liked morbid saint, i reckon you might like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMp8PS1ELOA
| Ryus yo that dj sabrina album....so good omg
| jtswope Thanks pal, you have good taste as well. Cheers!
| Lord(e)Po)))ts every little bit counts and i know it means the world to him! thanks so much for contributing :].
| Lord(e)Po)))ts Hey man, i know we are in a pandemic and money is tight for everyone but I put together a gofundme for minushuman. I dont know if you saw his list but he suffered a pretty brutal loss this weekend and I thought maybe we could all chip in a few bucks and help him out with groceries or rent or whatever this month while he works through this tough time. If you can donate a few bucks and share this with some other users to help spread the word that would be awesome: https://gf.me/u/y743c5
| Jots now listin here pal
| Jots oh lol I meant an album, I don?t do lists fam
| Jots trying to be creative as well, and string together something worth sharing hopefully this year
| Jots yeah I?m only v recently getting back into feeling inspired to listen to new full albums as well
| Jots eh cyg what?s good :]-*
| parksungjoon yea tbh im not super well versed either but ill check more stuff eventually. theres a lot of interesting kinds of music out there that i wasnt fully aware of
| Lord(e)Po)))ts Hmm, I dont recall that quote actually. Sorry! Do u know who it was?
| Slex What's yr friend code homie
| nol What?s your friend code? For future reference
| parksungjoon https://esmectatons.bandcamp.com/album/deformidade-jovial-e-outras-hist-rias courtesy of ghandhilion
| parksungjoon type o negative, tiamat... cant think of others atm for some reason
| parksungjoon i can kinda hear it but different genre lol. u wouldnt be the only one who finds doom boring tho
| parksungjoon sounds lame tbh. theres a difference between something that bores u and like five finger death punch
| parksungjoon yea im a little more liberal with downrating stuff but still like... i wouldnt 1 something good lol
| parksungjoon feeling the same. of course cyclotron 1d it lol. but ye, interesting find
| parksungjoon normally id say skip the senti just give me the mental. but i knew you wouldnt lead me astray
| GhandhiLion Yeah, there was something magical going on in Cleveland. Where did Pere Ubu and Devo even come from?
| GhandhiLion it's really good! but nothing is perfect ;)
| DoofDoof I spun Lewis a couple of nights ago for the first time in a while - that one never gets tired, what a legend
| DoofDoof https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/doofy/
| DoofDoof I wish I was inspired to review more but I just dont feel like it anymore - I put up a very short mini-review on my AOTY account. That is where I put up most of my ?content? these days as I prefer the format there. Long soundoffs really ugly up your ratings page here ;) Album is great though
| GhandhiLion That was nice. I need to check out the Churches. I recall really liking the few songs I heard of Heyday.
| parksungjoon bro just let me know anytime you need anything, ill do what i can for ya
| parksungjoon start there if you want, though if you want other stuff i'd be happy to oblige
| parksungjoon have you looked at my featured lists? the ones with the little diamond next to em
| parksungjoon i have added a few more sewerslvt releases to the database. infatuation is dope btw
| unclereich hey cygy! yea it is truly a mystery to me. they are an undead zombie of mid-2000s scene-core and equally represent everything bad about that era of music. the use of synths in post hardcore is so overdone and is always poorly executed. it is a dead genre that needs to remain at rest but for some reason that escapes me they still get attention.
| Ryus i never liked perfume genius too much but the singles for the new one are amazing :0
| TheSpaceMan doing great honestly! I've been hunkering down with my cat and eating sushi and drinking IPAs like everyday after work (work is killing me tho!). bro send me some music though I've been dry on new tunes lol
| TheSpaceMan tbh ive never even heard of them, but i fux with this really hard for the reasons you mentioned!
| zakalwe Cheers dude. Band gets a lot of love but theres too much eighties sheen on it for me.
| parksungjoon Gallantin is snox. The thing with snox is he doesn't get banned or anything, I'm pretty sure
| parksungjoon fair call and honestly fair opinion. im in the minority to think he's massively overrated. and also to think his influence on the output of newer bands has been a bad one in many cases lol
| parksungjoon burzum is the worst act from that particular scene tbh, which pains me to admit cuz i think gorgoroth are bland as **** but somehow theyre still more fun
| parksungjoon It's ok. Btw if you're genuinely curious you can find that minis k s*** on bandcamp
| Bedex nice IHM rating dude
| parksungjoon https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1034220
| parksungjoon check it bro its i hate models that isnt on spotify
| parksungjoon https://ariesrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-lost-tapes
| parksungjoon haven't heard all his stuff yet but i dig what ive heard really hard
| TheSpaceMan but itll always be impossible to explain why. even shadow cant ever try to go back to it
| TheSpaceMan dude its just one of those albums man... its tapping into something super special, reviving diamonds in the rough, wrapping it in a genuinely fun hip hop medium and splattering it like a collage across the wax. theres so many moments on endtroducing that make me wanna go hard and cry all at once
| TheSpaceMan For real. Like it might actually be a perfect song
| TheSpaceMan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKRJfIPiJGY
| TheSpaceMan Hey peasant here with no Nintendo system. How is the new game?
| Atari Hey old pal. Do you know if andcas quit Facebook? I haven?t talked to him in years but thought it would be cool to catch up on some music recs, etc. Hope you?ve been doing well too, it?s been a minute!
| Ryus check out the flying burrito bros, gene clark, and townes van zandt if u havent :]
| TheSpaceMan rip I guess we're gonna have to watch as they include our worst nightmares and limit the options of counters with a regional dex ):
| DrMaximus Hey, it's been awhile :)I've been alright, just doing part time work/school. how about you? haven't commented in long time and haven't listened to anything new in quite a while :/ any recs, doesn't have to be 2018
| TheSpaceMan nice mangos are fire, parents used to have a mango tree when i was growing up and it was heavenly. honestly might have to agree theyre a top 3. i really like guava, strawberries and peaches too. and avacado and tomatoes are goat if you get technical about it. dried mangos tho are super addicting, havent had em in a while
| Atari Lucky Street still goes hard, damn
| Ryus so good though. yeah computer world is amazing
| Ryus bro your dig......how have i not heard this before??
| TheSpaceMan i mean its hard to just conservatively jam a single sound non stop, most of my favorite albums give me more pleasure through the memories then the act of listening to em... do you ever do that? sorta listen to a song as if it were your first time again, even vicariously as another person. im ranting idk
| TheSpaceMan ahhhh i literally cannot stop listening to sweet trip how did you let me act like such a fool for years
| Aiwaz right on homie, don't hate me please if I don't like it lol
| Aiwaz oh s*** want me to check?
| DoofusWainwright I think I tried it before way before I joined, I remember it being better than this new one
| TheSpaceMan ayyy awesome thanks just copped them all, thankss
| foxblood not being critical btw you're one of the best users. I just can't imagine limiting myself with ratings that hard
| foxblood 4 5's, how do you go on living?
| TheSpaceMan Oh yeah you definitely did plus i would stumble upon it a lot in my krautrock phase, I enjoyed it and actually still have it in my library but tbh i don't think I gave it full attention ): I'll be sure to jam it again soon
| TheSpaceMan hey do you have any electronic recs to slip me? new/old, deepcut/householdname
| JS19 Didn't find one last year either mate - new RC is easily his best btw I bloody love it. But yeah new JH will be life
| JS19 Cheers for the rec man, haven't heard the first of those will give it a shot! In a similar vein if you haven't heard the new Rival Consoles it creates a similar atmosphere in places and I'm loving it
| Aiwaz They're all on my main account. This one was wiped. I'm rebuilding as I go. No rush.
| MyShadow hey bro i saw u had the horace andy album quite high, i love his voice on massive attack albums but do u think id dig his actual music
| Jots new Jon Hopkins on the way
| TheSpaceMan Merry Christmas! Hope you weren't Cygnaughty this year (;
| Atari hope you enjoy it my man. I'll let you know if I can think of anything else...
| Atari hey man! to be honest a lot of the pop-punk turned dreampop/shoegaze is just ok. Turnover is an exception for me and all the bands that tried doing the same thing kinda fell flat. However, I think you might really dig the new LP by Hazel English. Very nice and calming dream pop album that def has some things in common with Peripheral Vision :]
| hal1ax haha damn.... maybe i should read the spoilers. now i'm intrigued
| hal1ax na i've been avoiding the spoilers... tho in passing yesterday i heard someone blurt out that snoke dies lol. yea idk i've heard mixed opinions on it... just hope they tone down the cheesy fan-service bullsh1t and don't botch luke's character.. which they prob will lol
| MyShadow im in me last year at uni so i can empathise haha
| MyShadow been about for a minute man just thought id holla in case u didnt know, im pretty great me sen how are you??
| MyShadow hey bro wys its malenchanted/mall/kurisu
| adr good taste in metal dam
| Pon where u been bb
| Jots any good new releases I may be snoozing on?
| Toad ayyy hope you enjoy
| Toad you should check out Machine Girl's earlier LP, Gemini - much more melodic and shoegazey in the vein of sweet trip.
| Aicaicem On my NF-Perception review, what did you mean "lol this guy"? (Thank you for reading and commenting, by the way.)
| Jots it?s got a bit of an outsider house feel, I feel, ya feel?
| Jots it?s got that Detroit vibe except from a B.C. boi. Idk it?s just everything I want from tech/house
| Jots new 1800haightstreet is mmm v good
| Aiwaz Check out any of those books?
| Aiwaz I don't know about e-books, I buy everything on eBay. Some really old rare first prints. The only problem is it's a very expensive hobby. lol
| Aiwaz Crowley is very hard to understand FYI. I would start with The Tree of Life by Israel Regardie. Many books by that name only his is the "one". It is very informative.
| Aiwaz Also check out The Secret Doctrine by Helena Blavatsky. I have a early 1900's copy of it in 3 books. It smells good.
| Aiwaz 777 and other Qabalisric Writings of Aleister Crowely, The Equinox, The Book of Thoth (helps to have the tarot deck), Magick Without Tears, The Tree Of Life by Israel Regardie.
