The end of 'bulls in the Bronx is epic'. This album is infectiously catchy. Better than previous releases for sure.

Lacks the atmosphere of Selfish Machines and A Flair for the Dramatic that made those albums so special, Fearless Records took the soul in their music away, now they're just a typical post-hardcore affair. It's kind of sad when a guest vocalist does a better job at conveying their old sound than a member of the band , Jason Butler from letlive is the highlight of the entire depressing experience.

I didn't think they could top Selfish Machines, but boy was I wrong. They take their formula and top it ten fold. The pop parts are poppier, the heavy parts are heavier. Musically, it's all over the place, which is a good thing. Plus, they got Jason Butler from letlive on one of the songs. The only gripe I would have with the album is the overuse of studio effects at times. Also Vic's lyrics are hit and miss as always, but if you've been listening to Pierce the Veil for this long, you've gotten used to his lyricism. Songs like Hell Above and Bulls in the Bronx should be very fun live.

No wonder it sold so much (mofo went gold), it's a mixture of everything successful at the time: themes and vocals taken from pop punk and emo, catchy choruses, post-hardcore (the 2000s mall one) riffs, some nice touches like a Spanish guitar, and Vic Fuentes is prettier than you. What does not work is imo the metalcore breakdown addition, which does not mix well with the rest of their sound. And it's overproduced as heck. I could have dug this in 2012, but retrospectively, it sounds extremely adolescent and early 2010s-y.

The whole "mexicore" thing is really a turn on for me. The amount of creativity these guys have is amazing, and I was a huge Pierce the Veil fan after I heard this album, although they still have a while till they become my favorite band.rThe only real thing I would have to complain about this album is the fact that there is hardly any break. You're always catching hard hitting songs and fast beats, which isn't bad, but I would like a rest every once in a while. rBut definitely one of the best albums EVER :D

If you want something better than anything Pierce The Veil has done that has the same theatrical aspects check out The Protomen and The Venetia Fair.rThe Venetia Fair is like if you took the Protomen, made everything circus themed and threw in just a tiny bit of scenecore, although it seems like they don't really understand the difference between scene and REELxEMOxHXC because they're intelligent enough to not make it a huge part of their music.

With some great energetic tracks such as Hell Above, Bulls in the Bronx, A match into water, Staind Glass And Colorful Tears, the album breaks trough as the first real PTV album that stays away from the teenish lyrics. The problem is that Vic Fuentes keeps making lyrics about girls he dated, and keeps turning into clich? topics. Although, is this album you can see where the band is headed. And with a drummer as capable as Mike Fuentes, things could get even more interesting.

As a huge fan of PTV I have to say this sounds remarkably similar to every other record released on Fearless...Selfish machines was great and unique but this album fades into the typical Post-Hardcore background.

Very very solid album. Like others have said it's similar to selfish machines yet it takes it to another level. If you've ever even slightly enjoyed this band, your most likely gonna enjoy this. Overall just very catchy and very fun.
