Hey after listening to their latest albums this is quite cool (most certainly because I listened to it quite reasonably back in the dayz). This genre as a whole is not my cup of tea anymore, but this had some songs that were rockin' hard in 2012.

Dead behind the eyes remains one of the most entertaining songs I've heard from this band, it's just a shame WSS fails to keep up the intensity and intrigue throughout the album.

With all the alternate versions on the deluxe edition it gets even better. What WSS delivered here is a masterpiece after all, I haven't enjoyed music that much since... well, yeah, I haven't at all.

Truth be told, this is an impressive metalcore release. Every member performs exceptionally, and Lawrence Taylor's meaningful lyrics make this a stand out amongst others of the genre. A little more vocal variety would've made it more so, however.

By building on the potential showcased on their mini-album debut and playing to their numerous strengths, While She Sleeps have crafted one of the best metal albums of 2012, featuring vastly improved, dynamic songwriting devoid of the stigmas usually associated with the metalcore genre. This band represents the best of what modern British metal and hardcore has to offer. Watch this space.
