so im listening to this and like thinking this is really shitty... conclusion: Immortal more like gay. album rating - two thumbs down and a milk mustache

Black metal that reminds me of dissection. Great riffs throughout make this a solid effort. Actually everything from a musical standpoint is top notch. However the vocals are absolutely horrible. I'm used to black metal vocalists but this is laughable bad. Sounds like the guy is belching. Put in some hellish shrieks or growls instead of the belching and I'd knock this up to a 4 at least.

Immortal evolve/devolve from "important" to "merely good." Iron Maiden with popeye vocals and louder drums. Not bad but I don't need it in my life.

One of Immortal's best albums to date mixing the thrash influences perectly with their original black metal sound and some incredible vocal wrok from Abbath. This is an amazingly tight and fresh sounding record that never fails to sound completely original and wasnt afraid to dick around doing something a little different to many of the forerunners of the black metal genre that is usually oh so predictable. This was one of their later albums that could match up to the raw fast paced nature of their supposed masterpiece Pure Holocaust and actually topple that album with ease

Insanely good! At first I was lacking the grim, raw BM I came for when putting on Immortal, however I was hooked shortly after. As epic as epic can be, and shoutout to Abbath for showing Immortal?s best guitar work yet on his first time donning the guitar!
