after many many listens, this had become one of my all time favorite albums. the blend of genres is amazing, the flow between songs, and the variation throughout the 35 minute run time is just perfect for me. seems like a major step up from their previous work. going to see them tonight with dads. let's see if they can pull off these songs live.

The more I listen to them, the more it becomes apparent to me: The World Is A Beautiful Place And I'm No Longer Afraid To Die are a band best in smaller doses. It's why their EP's are really great, but their two full-lengths aren't as good. Whenever, If Ever is the better of the two, though, and has some evocative and heartwarming peppered throughout the record that definitely make it a worthwhile listen, even in the face of some middling material. "Heartbeat In The Brain", "Ultimate Steve", "Gig Life", "Getting Sodas"; these are songs that perfectly demonstrate everything that the band does well, using post-rock build-ups, gorgeous lyricism, charming electronics, and a solid midwestern-style emo core. Some of the songs here can be a little boring, with the main issue being the development of the song's ideas, but there's only a few of those to get through. Overall, it's a solid full-length, but it's not quite the best representation of their sound.

High 7 out of 10: While it isn't perfect by any means, TWIABP's debut has some of the most thrilling tracks I have heard in the Midwest Emo style ever. Truly a super solid LP.

They do a good job at creating this math rock infused joyful emo. And with this they further expand on that trademark. The evolution in the vocal department and layering makes this record top their first.
