3.5 great | sutinblev | June 27th 10 | Although this is definitely an album pulled among its 3 members (Spencer Krug, Dan Bejar, and Cary Mercer), with all of its songs very much defined by the member writing each specific piece, there is a medium ground of a dissonance that is brought out by the more refined works (The Freedom, Are You Swimming in Her Pools?). Altogether, an album I will listen to for each members contribution, but also for the coalescence that is born from the mixture of all three.
Favourite tracks: The Freedom, All Fires, A Venue Called Rubella, Petersburg Liberty Theatre 1914

2.0 poor | mklompus | November 20th 09 | Only one good thing about this album, and its Are You Swimming in Her Pools, which is easily one of my favourite songs of all time. One song, that's it, and it's a group with two members, Spencer Krug and Dan Bejar, that I really like in other groups.
Dissapointing album, except for that one fantastic song, which saves it from getting an awful.
Their new one, Enemy Mine, is a lot better, but still not nearly as good as Bejar's Destroyer work, or Krug's Sunset Rubdown/Wolf Parade.
