Liars always change direction and genre when releasing a new album. Mess is Liar's rave album, with stomping beats sporting an electro-industrial coat. Like often with Liars, I'm left understanding what they went for without having an appreciation for the end result.

Liars continue down the electronic path while bringing back they're aggression (in a similar way to Brats from WIXIW). Liars keep their innate creepiness and it's what sets them apart from most. I'm No Gold, Pro Anti-Anti, Can't Hear Well and Left Speaker Blown stand out tracks.
