Nothing special or stand out here. Way too many lame vocal effects, despite all the songs
being written by different people a lot of them still sound far too familiar, and the ones
that sound different than what the band usually puts out just aren't very good.
Disappointing release.

Among Periphery's best work to date, combining elements of both their previous albums and bringing it together to create a consistent and well written mini-album/EP that will definitely appeal to fans of the band and fans of progressive music alike.

If you hate Pediphery, Clear isn't going to change your opinions about them. The
concept presented behind Clear is one that is cool, though ultimately not executed to
their full potential. They could have certainly done more with the concepts presented here
but seem content on just banging these out. The EP still has it's highlights, in particular,
Matt's theatrical-esque "Feed The Ground" and Spencer's disco beat driven "The Parade Of
Ashes" are interesting changes presented to the band's sound. If this a preview for what may
be coming in the future the next album will hopefully present an interesting progression.
Otherwise, this is solid business as usual for Periphery. Clear obviously seems more
like a placeholder than a fully fleshed out concept EP. But for fans, this should certainly
be satisfying.

Spencer's song sucks something awful but Nolly's "Extraneous" is beyond ridiculous. Overall a really hit or miss EP.

This review is atrocious, it seems to exist to say "They didn't do anything radically different, so it's bad" which is dumb. The album is great overall, a fun little sort of EP that will fill the gap while waiting for Juggernaut to come out.rOh I noticed that Periphery's debut has a way higher score than 2 and this, that confuses me. The vocals on that album are so horrid.

Feed the Ground and Pale Aura are actually pretty cool songs (especially the latter). The rest is pretty forgettable, though, and Spencer's vocals are arguably a step down from PII's.

In all honesty - this would probably be a 2 at best if it weren't for the occasionally impressive instrumental work & the last track.
Just a messy mish-mash of half-baked ideas with little genuine inspiration or cohesion apparent throughout each song. Ends up being an ultimately redundant release lacking actual discernable substance, innovation or guile; the entirety almost completely destitute of any true replay value.
Something that I definitely have no real desire to revisit any time soon...

Periphery 1 was the most inspiring piece of music I've heard ever in my life. I was absolutely overwhelmed by Misha's style of writing, his creativity, the sound, and the unforgetable atmosphere he has created.rPeriphery's 'Icarus Lives' EP also hit the same feelings.rBut when I first heard Periphery 2, the stomach full of anticipation and hope, I cried rivers of tears when I realized it had NOTHING to do with what they did back in 2010. It was full of Metalcore-beats, mixed with unattractive, way too catchy vocals. rAnd that is because Misha involved the whole band in his writing.rI don't want to say that I hate it, because it is actually pretty good for the band that everyone has a voice, but the main problem was that Mark brought Haunted Shores into Periphery.rClear is a piece of music, which strenghens the idea of having all band members clearly represented in one album.rAnd I actually think that's a good idea! But to be honest, I still expect an album written by Misha, because HE is periphery to me.rAlso, I do like Zero! but you can guess why..rClear is not attractive to me. Periphery by itself lost its attractiveness in my opinion. Please do not hate me, it is just my insignificant opinion.rMy hopes lay in Misha's solo album, which is expected to be released later this year I think.

In my prev rating I said this was better than PII - LOL. The direction is taking is utter crap. You can't even say they're selling out, they're just releasing super mediocre overproduced tunes.

I was sat there listening waiting for something interesting or exciting to happen up until the last two tracks and then nolly's track dropped, literally the only song I'd recommend on this album the other tracks are pretty weak. This is coming from a periphery fan here too I'm pretty disappointed.

Honestly, I was expecting a little more from this band as I have really enjoyed the first two albums. However, this album is half instrumental and not very interesting instrumentals at that. "Extraneous" is probably the most enjoyable non vocal track. The other half are pretty decent, "Burn the Ground" and "The Summer Jam" are pretty catchy and the vocals are actually well done. But I don't know, I expected a 7 song ep to not have 3 instrumental tracks.
