A great step in returning to form, the here and now influence is almost nonexistent. Really a good blend of Hollow Crown and Daybreaker.

Actually enjoying this as much as or more than Hollow Crown, just wish Sam had utilised his cleans a little more to break up the harsh vocals, although they're fucking monstrous on this album. Sounds quite chuggy chug at first listen, but the more you listen the more the technical riffs start to stand out... to me at least.

Man, you guys are already overrating the living hell out of this. Give it a week at least. This is basically the same as Daybreaker with even worse lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation that brings the snooze.

The last four songs are unreal. If the rest of the album was up to the quality of "Colony Collapse," "Castle in the Air," "Youth is Wasted on the Young," and "The Distant Blue," this would easily top Hollow Crown. "Gravedigger" and "Naysayer" are pretty decent in their own right, and with them, this could have made for an incredible EP. Unfortunately, the rest of the album ranges from "listenable" to "okay," barring the hackneyed "Broken Cross," which brings the quality down significantly. Even so, this is the best Architects have sounded in a long time, and is fully deserving of the praise it receives.

Architects really caught me off guard with this one. Disregarding the kinda average song titles, Lost Forever // Lost Together is the closest thing they've come to sounding like their Hollow Crown glory days. The album is very solid, and has a nice atmosphere littered throughout that doesn't sound too political or too personal found on the likes of Daybreaker and The Here And Now, respectively. It's still very much a chug-a-thon metalcore record, but going in expecting disappointment has left me quite surprised. A fine return to form.

Architects continue to attempt to find their way back to a heavier sound reminiscent of their Ruin and Hollow Crown days, and this album is about as close as they've ever gotten to achieving that. Still though, they don't quite make it back there. Sam's vocals, however, have definitely taken a step up from recent efforts.

Promising opening collection of songs, especially the incensed and bitter Naysayer ripping
your face off. If only their actions matched their words, the lyrics are a classic "Do as i
say not as i do"
When listening to this album it soon become apparent their thought process was: "people like
the breakdown to These Colours Dont Run at 'Generic Core Festival' lets make 11
Songs like that"
So the blaring power chords, engulfing chugs and exhausting
screams are the building blocks of this album. Punctuate that with some 'deep' spoken word
sections, some dispirited atmospheric synths and violins, some djent of the day and some
nasal emo whimpers sung in a different accent to their native tongue.
Its a pretty bleak album and the leads and rhythms are not exciting enough to make it worth
trudging through the whole thing. Despite that there are select cuts that are worth
listening to in isolation if you want burly, knuckle dragging breakdowns.

At times its Solid slab of melodic metalcore, but the bottom line is this album has too many forgettable tracks to be memorable as a whole. This band's focus on breakdowns works better than most bands with the same focus though. The album also does have several tracks that are absolutely killer. "Gravedigger" is in my top 20 metal tracks of 2014 for sure.

Lost Forever // Lost Together does everything that is expected of Architects at this point, but they haven't done it this well in quite some time. The renewed vigor shines through the entire album, most notably in standouts "Gravedigger" and "Broken Cross", but the album in general is a step in the right direction.

This album just works as a whole. The songs vary from moderately calm to brutal but all are within the 5-star radius for me. As a concept album (adressing a multitude of themes) Lost Forever // Lost Together speaks to people of loss, fear, resilience and retrieval of power. It takes itself very seriously and rightly so.

the production is easily the best the band's had in their discography and it gives a great, spacey atmosphere to the album. aside from the overly frequent breakdowns, there are some catchy and memorable riffs(see Broken Cross and Gravedigger), and Carter's vocals are consistently competent, if not a little grating after extended periods. while there isn't a ton of variety between tracks, the album as a whole is a worthwhile and fun listen all throughout. Hollow Crown this is not, but it stands on its own as the most well put together Architects release since said LP and is well worth a listen. Blegh.

its like they peaked at Hollow Crown, bottom line, some songs have great vocal performaces, some have cool moments (like the bridge on the second half of the infamous Broken Cross) some of the lyrics are pretty bad all around and, more often than not, the 3 of them overlap.
