Pallbearer improve on their vocals, get even bigger guitar tones and also get more accessible in the process. Highly rec'd for fans of bands ranging from Baroness to Deafheaven to Explosions in the Sky.

The "Where did this masterpiece come from" subject from their debut becomes bloated, as the band is constantly trying to expand from their "doom" moniker but retreats back into those cliches before things can get really interesting. I still have high hopes for their 3rd LP, as this could be nothing but a simple mistep for band that could have an impressive next 10 years. I really hope that they become to Doom what Mastodon became to Sludge Metal.

this is quite the fucking grower - excellent doom metal record, almost nothing bad to say about it at all. leagues above sorrow and extinction.

Foundations of Burden takes the great doom sound from Sorrow and Extinction and expands upon it to make an even better epic album. The only real complaint is just that for my personal preference some of the slower parts drag on a bit too long, in turn making the songs overall longer than preferred.
