the artwork is to tha music what the debus artwork was to its music this is plain jane, thats sharapove, theres no saying this album is bad, but it can get downright annoying at times, just let it sleep, wait for their theird try because this is fodder
nana is good but its dificult to find material between all the junk...... but when it delivers its really compelling. i like nana but the rest not somuch.... hunger of the pine i have to make an effor to keep listening to this hospital beepling, but whatever alt j, u get a 7/10, although this is in comparecent with the rest of comercialiced music around the globe, not my own

While less immediate than its predecessor, This Is All Yours is still an atmospheric, intricate album that sees alt-J neither pushing their sound forward nor really degrading it.

It's less fun and a heckova lot less jammy than An Awesome Wave but its maybe more dynamic? There is a lot going on here--different styles (compare "Arrival in Nara" to "Left Hand Free" to "Warm Foothills") and an interesting spectrum of instrumentation. It doesn't always work well but its an engaging listen from start to finish.

After hearing the first few singles, it sounded like this album was going to be inconsistent with out of place songs. I couldn't be more wrong. I cannot stress how much better this sounds as a whole rather than listened to individually. That being said, its shortcommings are still prevalent, and there's no point pretending that they don't exist. For one, there's nothing enthralling about this... at all. it doesn't have the same charm or layered aesthetic found in the first album. The overall theme of a journey is nice, but if that's the case, Miley Cyrus does nothing but sound out of place. Even if the album is disappointing as a whole, the first 4 songs are what classic Alt-J are all about. It crafts everything we love from their debut, plus more into a cohesive 15 minute spectacular building and building until Every Other Freckle. it's a shame the rest of the songs after exist, because if it ended there, it could easily have been EP of the year
