An astonishing well-crafted album that may really be one of the greatest releases of 2K14

This might be a tad odd to say, but this album has re-energized my interesting in crafting music. Before I had always wanted to do it, but after listening to this it kicked my butt into gear, I've already written 4 full songs in the few hours I've had. The way this album just connects me with emotionally is astonishing; the techincal, intracate instrumentation accented by above average vocals and a dose of refreshing songwriting/structure resonate beautifully with me.

One of the best Post Hardcore Albums of the 2010s. Literally has it all and more in spades, the band really creates a great atmosphere throughout the album and maintains it very well. Technical as shit but not overdone, great dynamics with great flow on tracks that have some pretty big changes which can be hard to pull off. Basically a salad of all the current trends 2010s post hc had to offer at the time.

You will find some real exciting moments on here, but in all honesty, it's hidden behind this vast lackluster and quite boring sound that made up their debut. It just might be worth your time to listen to a more consistent band.

Icarus' wings made from wax would disintegrate once he ascended towards the sun; Stolas, on the other end of the spectrum, possess wings made from the rarest titanium alloy which don't become vaporized so much as they get more vitality. Allomaternal is a powerful album full of emotionally-drained vocals that freely alternate between screams and singing, whilst being protected by such profound instrumentation work.
