4.0 excellent | BobbleHeadbutt | January 13th 15 | More fantastic work in regards to atmosphere from Alex. It's admirable that he also took a more instrumental approach to this EP. Basically every track involves a good use of manipulating the relation between texture and melodies. Plus the flute and choir sections add a very nice touch to the theme of the EP. The production has also seemed to have improved, which is always a huge advantage. And as such, A Visible Chill is a very well crafted EP of progressive metal.

4.5 superb | Jared Floryan | January 4th 15 | Under the Taravana moniker, Alex Newton was able to create the mystical EP that is A Visible Chill. It's 23 minutes of focused progressive metal never without a rich atmosphere, bringing in folk and choir elements which aren't so much a hindrance to this accomplished sound as they are a mere blessing. A nice, poignant way to kick off 2015 indeed.
