A near classic. Tom provided us a glimpse of the future (direction of Blink 182 and AVA). It was
such a fresh separation from the humor Blink provided. Still one of my favorite records of all
time.

This is is essentially a darker, but similarly simplistic, blink-182. There are catchy tracks ("I Feel So," "The End with You"), the production is good, and it is an earnestly honest endeavor. However, the music is often derivative and there are also far too many drum intros. This is about 5x better than Angels and Airwaves, though.

A tragically overlooked side project by Tom Delongue of Blink-182. This album takes on a more straight up rock approach unlike Angels and Airwaves. Any fans of Blink-182 or AVA who haven't heard it should consider checking it out.

The classic example of Tom Delonge's un-talented yet frequently brilliantly-creative music; the man who later helmed the absolute worst band in modern rock n' roll, Angels and Airwaves, had a soul once... that soul was manifested in Box Car Racer- the dirty, less-successful step-brother of Blink 182. The album is frequented by songs that can be played by any third-grader willing to learn the material, yet sometimes the formulas tweak and the blandness blurs into something that is oh-so-good. Maybe its the fact that Delonge has two guitarists to work with for once, or the fact that he is actually trying his best at something other than getting stoned or doing something stupid (i.e. AVA). Either way, Box Car Racer can be brilliant and is worthy of note in the punk-pop-rock timeline... somewhere haha

One of the best albums i own. Great song, after great song. Tom shows some of his best writing skills here. With tracks like I feel so, Cat Like Thief, And I, Letters to god, and There Is, this album is absouletly amazing. Each song is so deep and they each suck you in, in their own way. Great songs, great album.
