3.0 good | Atari STAFF | June 23rd 15 | The real question: Is Dying Words the heaviest song Senses Fail have ever written?

3.5 great | Veldin | June 23rd 15 | "I tried so hard to runaway from the truth
I fucking hated myself so I abused
My soul, my heart, my body
For the sexuality I didn't choose"
Buddy has been leaving us a bread crumb trail
of gayness for over a decade and we've been
too busy with our own faggotry to notice.

4.0 excellent | Floofus | July 6th 15 | The group plays like a full entity, which would sound better if the production didn't make everything sound so... weak? It's serviceable but could definitely be better.rLyrics and singing are a major high point though, hitting themes of self-forgiveness, isolation, and fear in a way that's startlingly personal and real.

4.5 superb | WeAreReturningHome | July 20th 18 | I find it funny that when a band goes heavy in metalcore (I know this isn't metalcore but still) a big majority of the fans get pissed and call them sell outs. This band made a pretty heavy, unique and emotional album and the fans get pissed that they didn't make another Let it Enfold You. This whole album is so positive and very reflective of Buddy's life. It went from emo Buddy making stuff like "Watch the waves eat me, set my cold heart free" to "I WILL NOT DIE IN SHAME". Compared to 'Renacer' this album was a huge improvement, they knew when to cut off songs so the choruses don't run on 3 times like 'Holy Mountain' or 'Mi Amor' but this album could've used a little more screaming.

4.0 excellent | BRAman22 | July 23rd 15 | This is a solid ambient hardcore album that seems to convey the emotions that this dude is feeling quite well. Artsy shit.

4.0 excellent | SpinLightTwo | July 22nd 15 | Even with certain musical decisions coming across a bit cluttered, Senses Fail are way more cathartic and carnal than ever. Despite lacking the flashy songwriting that once defined them, the dudes still create a record that pulverizes you while making you feel good about it.

3.5 great | iGuter | July 13th 15 | Senses Fail show strength over age and time with Buddy Nielsen's strong lyrics on personal struggles.

0.0 | LivingThrowaway | June 30th 15 | Saw the 5-star review and the cover art reminiscent of Skyharbor's Guiding Lights and came here expecting
music. All I got was CHUGGA-CHUGGA-CHUGGA [SNARE, SNARE, SNARE, SNARE] "RUH! RUG! RAH!
GARBLE-DUMORPHOGIS-USPLEXIUM RAUGH!" CHUGGA-CHUGGA-CHUG [SNARE, SNARE, SNARE,
SNARE]. Even worse, the album was clearly mixed and mastered in Satan's rectum.
Obviously I'm not a genre fan but this is never going to make a convert of me if it's top-of-the-scene material. I
guess I'm just not XxXHxXxCXxX enough or something. :/

3.5 great | Brady Hayes | June 29th 15 | 2nd half is so much better than the kinda lackluster 1st half. But that 2nd half may be some of the best material the band has come up with in years.

4.5 superb | Comatorium. | June 20th 15 | Holy balls... The new Senses Fail has arrived in full fucking force with Pull the Thorns From Your Heart. The
album rips and tears its way through the track list with a newly energized Buddy Nielsen heading the charge with his most
empowered and passionate performance on vocals to date. The guitars race through riff after riff and the bass and drums round
out the rhythm section with a rumbling and dynamic low end to fill out the aural assault. Sparse, but lovely bits of slower moments
with a hint of spacey shoegaze provide some breathing room at the right moments before lurching back into the breakneck pace
that dominates the album. A great release that I cant wait to dig into more thoroughly.

1.5 very poor | GrooperGames | December 12th 22 | I understand why a lot of people like this album so much, with how spiritual it is and all that, but i cannot stand this album. I genuinely can never remember anything I like about it besides the raw emotion, and this is coming from a massive SF fan. I'm not mad because this isn't Still Searching 2, It just is not at all what I enjoy from this band, and I even liked Renacer quite a bit.

3.0 good | Brandon Scott EMERITUS | July 2nd 15 | I still need to listen to this 10-15 more times before I can rate this accurately, but as far as first listens go, this sounds like choppier version of Renacer. Sure, it's simultaneously their most technical and most ethereal, but it's also their most disjointed. Really hoping this grows on me.

0.0 | tresm87 | June 20th 15 | I really don't know how to take this album in comparison to all of their others. It's definitely the most bizarre
album they've released, and probably my least favorite. It's very scattered but still enjoyable at certain times.
Instrumentally they are most uninspired of any release. Buddy is amazing as always and at his most vocally
diverse yet. Overall it's a great album, but doesn't deliver the same consistency as the past ones. But I admire
this for it's experimentation and diversity.
