Call it dated nostalgia, call it repetitively formulaic, call it whatever you want... TRUSTcompany's debut LP 'The Lonely Position of Neutral' hits a sweet spot when it comes to finding a fan-friendly median of nu-metal, hard-rock & alt-metal. Utilizing engaging quiet/loud dynamics, Kevin Palmer's always melodic vocals switch from ominous whispering to anguished screaming in a heartbeat. As consistent an album as you will find, practically every single word here is crafted to sing along to, especially the infectious choruses that just keep on coming. Recommended Tracks: Downfall, Deeper Into You, Falling Apart, Hover & Figure 8.

Still one of the most unique sounding vocalists in the genre. This band really captured something energetic and engaging on this album to a point where there's almost no problems with it overall.

Pretty much the review speaks for itself - a Linkin Park w/ a stronger hard rock orientation, minus the hip-hop influences. A prime example of how Linkin Park spawned off imitators, which unfortunately costs partial ratings for others like this. A good and enjoyable effort, but rating this any higher than a 3.5/5 would be too generous. Recommended tracks:Downfall, Running From Me, Slipping Away, and Deeper Into You.

Whisper style vocals and a slightly dark and murky atmosphere present in the music help to create an atmospheric experience, but unfortunately, the thing holding back TRUSTcompany is that there isn't enough variety in their music, the riffing all sounds too similar and the songwriting is boring and predictable. The vocals and production are the two things that keep this album above the shelves of mediocrity.

Yea they are similar to Linkin Park: but probably not as much as you think. The sound seems pretty similar but what separates the band is Kevin Palmer whisper vocal approach (Deftones anyone?) and the songs have more of a pop-punk feel to them. The mix of different influences provides (at times) quite an infectious sound/listen. "Downfall" builds on soft/loud extremes but it keeps the song rather intense. Meanwhile "Hover" has probably one of the most infectious choruses you'll ever hear. The album suffers from some of the songs sounding the same but aside from that TrustCompany have released an all around good solid album.
