Rules. One of the greater old-school DM albums. The guitar tone is one of the cruelest ever. A must hear for every death metal fan. It's not the fastest or most technical, but it's some real metal done just right!

A bona-fide Death Metal classic. Obituary were one of the first bands to put out a ?pure? death metal album in Slowly We Rot. It has great riffage, and John Tardy sounds monstrous, however that?s about it. The outro riff on Intoxicated would probably be my highlight. Solos are also very similar to Slayer?s ?tortured? shriek sounding chromatic scales.

Slowly We Rot isn't the flawless record that some make it out to be, but it is certainly nothing to sneeze at either.

This is an awesome death metal classic. Obituary makes a unique and original album that ralso combines influences of many other metal bands. While there is only one Chuck rSchuldiner, John Tardy has very similar vocals to him and the riffs/beats are influenced by rCeltic Frost and Slayer (Guitar solos mostly). Still, close to perfect.
