Intense, immense, fast, brutal, yet strangely beautiful grind album. The Inalienable Dreamless is about as perfect as the genre gets.

89/100. This album was recommended to me by my sputnik archnemesis FLCL, who usually likes terrible music but occasionally finds a gem. This would be one of those gems. The Inalienable Darkness is quite possibly the most coarse and relentless albums I've ever heard. Each song hits you like a brick wall, thrashing you with cleaving guitars, light-speed drums, and unintelligible vocals. I think the highest achievement of this album is its production--- the vocals are mixed just perfectly enough to sound like they're drowning in sound, submerging the listener in a similar hellish realm. If your a fan of grindcore or metal in general, definitely check this one out.

Jouhou was a schizophrenic mother and goddess of the cosmos. The amount of insanity and well-constructed anger that has been building up inside eventually caused her to start an endless war - where at one point, she met the thirst watcher responsible for murdering her two sons, Jon and Chang. After said figure began tormenting this goddess both physically and mentally, he revealed his true colors as The Inalienable Dreamless.

Yeah, that album cover sure is beautiful and quite misleading, but I'm sure plenty of beaches have looked just like that before a tsunami came crashing through and drowned everything in sight. The Inalienable Dreamless is everything Discordance Axis could be; a cacophonous whirlwind of realized potential. Of course it's enraged and powerful and blisteringly fast, but many, many grind records are. Amongst everything else, however, this album is haunting. I mean, Jon Chang sounds like a wailing banshee when he's not roaring like a man possessed, and the lyrics make many references to ghosts and to death in general. Even the name of the album more or less alludes to the dead or dying. For all the memorable riffs or insanely addictive drum fills, there's things about this album that stick into your head as something jarring and even unnerving. It's a work never to be duplicated, if simply for the notion that it's one of the scariest things ever put to wax by any band before or since. It's completely unexpected; just as its own album cover faked out those first listeners sixteen years ago, so too does it surprise listeners who go in expecting a grind record full of mindless fun. It's sure as hell not mindless, and although it is fun, it's fun in a way much more satisfying than you'd believe.

this is one of the few Grind albums i've heard that i actually really really dig... it's actually a very rpleasant (and intense) listen for me oddly enough, whereas a lot of albums in this genre (that i've rheard) i find to be kind of boring

Discordance Axis gives out great intensity on this album in the Grindcore genre. The album is quite short, but it is pure and raw speed with fierce high-pitched vocals that surprisingly never got annoying or old.

The cover of the album says it all. This is the only grind album I have ever liked and for good reason; there is something about it that is both beautiful and ugly, ethereal and crushing, technical and uncompromising. Give it a good few listens and it may change your perspective on heavy music completely.
