A passionate step forward Sum 41 takes it back rto the Chuck roots and mixes it up with ramazing melodies, guitar solos, catchy rchoruses, and original fresh sounds that rpresents the whole album in such a bad ass rfashion. r+ 3 guitarist.r+ Vocals are very good.r+ Dave performs face melting guitar solos.r+ Bass, guitar work, and drums all sound rperfectly well with the new punk revival sound rSum 41 present to us!r+ This is definitely on par with Chuck.r+ 13 voices presents original sounds that rscreaming bloody murder tried but couldn't rprovide.rVerdict: 4.0rPop Punk Rock Revival at its finest.

a few words on the page... it is good but i wish it was great like the under class hero cd, why on songs they are not as catchy to sing on here i dont no lol... on the web site you can say under class is like green day but why would some one say that no it is not no i do not agree no. Sputnik music on the site. there is a hard hit here and there on this some times but to be the best sum 41 cd it is under class hero on songs...this cant haha be a high rating 5 points out of 5 points i can not no cant give it that rating i have to say it is 3 points??rderrick and sum 41 can do better but it is not the worse thing i have to hear on songs online... sputnik i do not no. can it be this is the "come back CD"????? no it is not no it is not no i do not think this.. i am sorry to be mean to the band i do not mean it that way it is just about songs and the cd man not just saying bad things and insulting real people it is not no i am not like that or do that it would be dumb. i want to here a harder cd from derrick and the boys sum 41 next time hard hitting songs banging the drums and some slaps bass hitting the strings smacking strings on all guitar playing and get a good mix of pop on it there to so i can here many song types! i think it is good to do that. r

erf. basically a subpar version of their past material. not offensively bad, but damn it seems like they definitely erased the word "originality" from their collective memory. oh and it's mega mild too, had unseasoned tofu that had more taste than this.

The production is absolutely awful. I'm baffled because even the other albums that might be worse in terms of songwriting don't sound this bad. Every track sounds like it was bootlegged off of a 2006 youtube lyric video.

Starting off with a grandiose, confusing blend of strings, synth and electronic percussion, 13
Voices ends up being a bizarre album from beginning to end. Right off the bat, Sum 41 enter into
the realm of pop punk in Goddamn I'm Dead Again but decide to throw in some ripping metal solos
overlaid with Dragonforce-esque guitar tones. Neither the pop punk or the solos are interesting or
all that great. Did Sum 41 always have these ripping solos? Since when is Sum 41 so heavy? At
times, the music sounds more like bad early 90s heavy metal than alt rock or pop punk. Breaking
the Chain features a mostly down-tempo alt rock pop punk core but randomly has an angry break down
section and string sections. As mentioned above, the entire album sounds confusing and generic.
What are Sum 41 aiming to do here? Do they even know?

With the return of guitarist/songwriter Dave Baksh, "13 Voices" gives the listener essentially exactly what was promised by such return: the 'poppy' Sum 41 album melded with interesting guitar riffs and solos. The initial 3 tracks are a tremendous start, followed by 2 mediocre tracks, followed by the best track on the album (the title track), and followed by more mediocrity. Just about half of this album is rewarding in the sense that it's a sound Sum 41 has been missing for a while, and half of the album feels like there's still some things the band has to figure out. Overall though, "13 Voices" is the best album the band has put out since "Chuck", and the anticipation for exciting future releases couldn't be higher.

13 Voices is a return to form for Sum 41. The album picks up where Chuck left off without trying anything new. Frank Zummo and David Baksh are the best parts of the album.

I really wish I liked this. I actually support Sum 41 and have a huge nostalgic sweet spot for them, and maybe I've just outgrown this type of music since I first loved Chuck; however, I gave Chuck a spin a couple weeks ago and it still slays in its own way. rPeople are gonna come in droves and bash this thing, so I'll point out some pluses:rIt's really well-mixed (which I think Deryck is responsible for) and polished.rIt's a good outlet for Deryck to exorcise his demons.rThe drumming' pretty great throughout (Sorry, Stevo).rI really wish I liked this album, but if I'm being honest with myself it's just not pleasing to listen to. Best of luck to these guys, but it seems the SS I Enjoy Sum 41's Music has officially sailed.
