For those who like Kreators "new direction" it's definitely not going to be a disappointment,
it's an epic, energetic and melodic yet heavy sounding thrash record with some melodeath
influences. For me as a german the use of german in "fallen brother" somehow makes the song sound
very special and powerful, just a small detail I really liked. For the ones wanting a new 80s
style Kreator record, you'll most likely be disappointed.

A great thrash metal album from legends Kreator. Though it might not have explored much musically, it was an insane ride of classic thrash.

Epic thrash is epic. Kreator's brand of thrash is quite well-known at this point, and the boiz deliver exactly that: fast riffs, stomping riffs, melodeath-inspired riffs, with the occasional power metal or NWOBHM passage. Not exactly my cuppa, and it ain't original in the slightest, but can't deny it's well done.

Wo would have thought that Kreator would peak after close to 40 years in the game. They might be more melodic and less ruthless than in the 80s, but I much prefer this catchy side of the band. Killer album!!!

good thrash in terms of 2017. fallen brother is most memorable. as a sceptic of thrash metal's general direction I would say that thrash hardly gets any better.

Gods of Violence is an interesting album in that most of the riffs aren't actually that catchy. The choruses, however make up for that, typically having solid hooks and taking on an Amon Amarthy sound at times.

The polished production of Gods of Violence cannot mask their signs of gradual aging, but the music itself is reliable enough to catch your ear for a while.

A good modern Thrash record with great production, solid work on the lead guitars and some very heavy riffs that are trash at heart but have elements of power metal and melodic death metal sprinkled in. The major drawback to the album is the vocals and lyrics. The vocal approach is very standard for the genre and the same approach is taken throughout the entire album. The lyrics dwell on stereotypical themes of the apocalypse, Satan and war without adding anything new to the equation. Good guitar work, competent production and all around solid to above average music but it just feels like an album that has been done so many times before.
