Doubling down on atmosphere and ambience, Howard all but ditches the anthemic leanings and epic moments of I Forget Where We Were for something decidedly softer, exploratory and psychedelic. A masterclass in songwriting and flow, but re-evaluate what you expect from Howard based on previous albums; a dark and ethereal traveling album that finds the artist in a different place entirely.

You can almost feel the intense heat radiating off the ground as you trudge through this album's desolate landscape and sense the eyes of the vultures as they wait for you to breathe your last. And yet, as you walk on, you feel a sense of peace and comfort in the isolation. This is how it feels to listen to Noonday Dream.

What an incredible listening experience this is. Nica Libres At Dusk is an exceptional opener. The whole soundscape of the album is perfectly weighted and literally sends you into a daydream, another masterpiece by probably one of the most underrated musicians out there.

"Noonday Dream" is a very atmospheric work that appeals to the emotional value. Even if it's not forced, the melodies and sound lines were built to make an impact during the songs. I felt this, but it was not a feeling of sadness and desolation, but rather the pride of listening to a beautiful album in a very dubious year for music. Artists like Ben Howard always contribute in a divergent setting with dubious styles and genres. Sometimes, looking for the conventional is more appropriate.
