This album is like a plot of a generic family sitcom episode. They dress the youngest child who is wild and dysfunctional in a suit, because it's pivotal to impress this very important person (insert a more detailed scenario here). You watch as the family's clever scheme working at first, but then quickly escalates into a fiasco. That's exactly what this album is. The first three tracks are jaw droppingly slick with some jazzy melodies, and some serious flow being spit out. But in the end, this shit rears its ugly horrorcore dysfunctional personality. Like "Hi, bitch! Fooled you!"

Has all the potential and makings to be a classic but it just feels like Denzel is a bit late to the punch and while he can produce a ton of really good to great tracks still hasn't made any singular track that could be called a classic. In general it feels like Curry is stuck in the middle ground when it comes to his style. He is often super aggressive and political with very conscious, scathing lyrics and intense energy (Sirens, Vengeance come to mind) but sometimes he goes straight for the catchy trap banger (Sumo, Switch It Up come to mind) and in the end the styles clash a bit when back to back on the same tracklist. His aggression can be exciting but he falls back on it too often perhaps trying to create his own unique style and the approach just loses its magic when overused. TA13OO has a ton of great tracks but in the end it comes off a bit more underwhelming than it should because, despite his insanely great flows, Curry's lyrics are certainly not the most approachable/relatable and the beats feel like they have been done before and are really not that exciting even by Trap standards.

Solidifies Zel's transition from Soundcloud standout to illustrious luminary. He could almost get by on ferocity alone, but salient+savored here is upping the lyrical lucidity and formidable flow-n-flows and versatile vision on the whole. Poppier and smoother ventures truly pop; and when he pokes holes in peer's propensities for buck-stuffed pockets and percs and depression-as-nifty-demeanor it's keen and catchy as hell. And as much as "Sirens" seems like a singular flutterer that faces the frustration of today's fucked up world, let's hand it to him for ending it on a demonic note and classifying America as a fort. But "Donald Trump / Donald Duck / What the fuck / is the difference"? Dat duck deserves better.

This album has absolutely stellar verses, but also have really sub-par hooks, I've always hated the one on Clout Cobain (Awful title as well), and the other ones are not as bad as this one, but certainly aren't amazing. Despite that, Curry is a great lyricist, there are some great bars on here, great rap project.

everything about this album is great. even the ingenuous way to end the album the same way it starts. symbolizing the album's theme on the cycle of life. my sole neg is "Mad I got it" is the weakest link here.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the one essential record for the entirety of trap. It explores every single corner of the trap rap umbrella; it's violent, boastful, emotional, introspective and rebellious; the beats go from emo trap sweets to full Travis Scott-like bangers to cloud rap thinkers. Plus, he manages to push his already-present energy and passion into something more than pure animal fury; here, he shows us his (very human) bleakness. It's basically the best of Imperial and Nostalgic 64, but pushed further. Remember when pop punk (not that current sadboicore shit) was an over-represented genre, and only a very few stood the test of time? The same applies to trap, and for those of us who spend too much time ranking music, this is a record that will be heralded as one of the best trap rap albums. Fuck it, it will be a dad rap classic.

Much proggier and kendrickesque than I expected. The opener is a gorgeous jam. A lot of tracks have multiple sections, and generally they start off annoying to meh with excessive vocals then morph into something super cool, for instance on 3, 12, 13. Loads of other jammy tracks on 2, 6-8. 9 is probably the weakest track. 4 marks an odd style shift that does not really work in the context of the album imo, but the track is cool despite a feeling of caricature. Overall a solid album I'll go back to with lots of creativity put in it. 4.0

Incredible musical depths and variety across the whole album in regards to the backing instrumental and the flow. The conceptual aspect comes through to me, and the production is some of my favorite on any project this year like with KSG.rThis is my first Denzel Curry album, and I'm very impressed.
