3.0 good | cageofman | October 22nd 18 | I know it sounds like LZ, but i just like it, i mean its no worse than Wolfmother was to black rsabbath or earlier chair was to Nirvana haha. People need to get over the LZ thing though, because rthe poor scores arent a reflection on the music or product its based on your prejudices. I suppose rall music is though... but more so in this case. But know what i mean, like, if you know your rscore is based purely because you have an aversion to it sounding so LZ, i reckon dont bother even rrating it. Like a death metal fan rating kate perry or something. Just give it a miss

3.0 good | AmbushReality | October 19th 18 | Quite derivative in parts, as any nostalgia-driven retro rock would be, but original enough to rstand on its own. Obviously the vocalist will never escape the Robert Plant comparisons, but is rmore of that a bad thing? Of course not. Ultimately, Greta Van Fleet have created a cohesive, rconsistent retro rock album with a larger than life sound that's a tremendously fun listen. Stop rwasting time trying to pinpoint where each guitar lick was "stolen" or "ripped" from and just renjoy a piece of rock music that shits on 99% of what gets played on "rock" radio in 2018.

1.0 awful | Erwann S. STAFF | February 2nd 21 | 1.0. Why? Because of the originality? Kinda, but not entirely. Let's get this straight: having obvious influences is not a problem. The problem is having only one influence. Sure, some bands can be reduced to a handful of influences, but these are multiple enough that you don't have to worry about the band's creativity. Here, it just sounds like Led Zep, sans the genius. After reading some interviews and shit like that, it turns out the members listen to other things than Led Zeppelin. Prove it. Fuse it with The Who, Nirvana, Polvo, The Strokes, even Murmuure if you'd like to, but, please, strive to be more than a fucking copycat.

2.5 average | judasgoat | October 23rd 18 | They have potential for sure, they just need to not be Led Zeppelin. I mean seriously, that one Mountains song is Traveling Riverside Blues and Lover Leaver (Taker Believer) is straight up Whole Lotta Love like are you fucking kidding me
And if I hear one more person say "rock is alive" or "better than 90% of music or rock music these days" in reference to this band I am going to take a tub of bleach and chug it so fucking fast that frat bros across the nation will hail me as their god

2.0 poor | Toondude | October 19th 18 | I'm really getting tired of these "retro-70s/80s throwback rock" bands
it's getting old and stale, much like the music they're playing

1.0 awful | Harlz | February 28th 21 | A band who actively damages Rock music future, retrospective views are not all that bad, but when you blatantly rip off someone else to such a degree, all while stunting and preventing the development of rock music in the mainstream, then you've got my ire.

1.5 very poor | Robbit | October 31st 18 | The only kind thing I might offer here is that at least Greta Van Fleet had to good taste to rip off one of the greatest hard rock
bands ever. But after swallowing them whole, they digested them and excreted a substance that's foul smelling and is nothing but
artificially composed byproducts. Any goodness or true inspiration that might have been gleaned from the mighty Zep has been
overlooked by these youthful imitators.
To make matters worse, Josh Kiszka's vocal tone is so horridly abrasive that you almost want to forgive Lenny Wolf and Kingdom
Come for their similarly derivative 1989 debut. Of course, we all know that Zeppelin weren't lilywhite when it comes to
originality. But once you arrive at a 3rd or 4th generation forgery, there's not much authenticity to be found in something that
professes to be "art".
Might be useful for interrogating terrorists, but not something I'd recommend sitting through for 50 minutes.

0.0 | kneepel | October 24th 18 | Despite very obvious similarities to early Led Zeppelin, this made for a very enjoyable (albeit sometimes stagnant) listen and a fresh breath of air for someone who dreads turning on the radio. For a debut album coming from a group of guys in their late teens/early 20's, this made me smile and excited for what the future holds for them.

2.0 poor | Brabiz | October 23rd 18 | It?s catchy and has some great melodies. Vocalist is very talented, but there?s really no reason for this to exist.... very boring.

3.5 great | Mitch | October 23rd 18 | A consistent and catchy listen, albeit a tad uninspired and unoriginal. Lyrically the album touches upon all the lyrical tropes you would expect from an album of this nature. Despite the album's creative faults, it still remains a highly enjoyable listen with a very talented band to back it up. Hopefully they stray from the cut and paste Led Zeppelin format in the future.

2.5 average | TheCharmingMan | October 27th 18 | Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote by Jorge Luis Borges describes a young rock band who, instead of attempting to simply replicate the sounds of Led Zeppelin, seek to become Led Zeppelin through every method of studying their influences, coincidentally sliding into their fashion tastes, and even maintaining the similar elements of mediocrity and whitewashing the original band developed. Simply put, it's marvelous.

1.5 very poor | TimeMuffin | October 20th 18 | It's not totally indefensible to sound like Led Zeppelin. There's definitely a sizable audience that would love someone new to be successful from it. But man, they certainly have some ways to go to sharpen their chops and songwriting from ever doing songs like fucking "You're the One" again. Robert Plant's last two or three albums in the past eight years are infinite times more impactful and imaginative than what you get here. Don't really think this deserves much of a pass, background music to play at a SEC tailgate aside.
