This band can do no wrong. Fitting of a title calling back to their first two albums (I/II),
III/IV is the ultimate culmination of their sonic history, a piece that honors their roots as well
as the diversity they?ve explored in their decade long career.

This record is incredibly diverse instrumentally, ranging from furiously chaotic hardcore drumming to almost trip-hop/hip-hop beats - worthy of note, 'Choke' was recorded four years before the rest of the album and has a very distinctive style, yet it blends quite well with the rest of the album.rThe album's main strength - its diversity - is also its weakness, with a couple lower points and harsh vocals that very subjectively I am not a fan of. As I was listening my intended rating bounced back and forth between 3.7 and 4.1. Regardless of the rating, this rules and is definitely worth a listen.

A band spearheading the blackened crust movement is back with maybe their most by the numbers album. It is still insane and bewildering, but maybe in a bit more calculated manner.

Blackened skramz was ofc gonna please me. They also have a crusty touch that reminds me of Alpinist. But as always, what makes this genre so powerful are these delicate arpeggios on top of the overall pounding sound. The electronic-ish interludes add a breath of air throughout the record too. Good screamo year.
