3.0 good | Dreakon | October 28th 08 | This album has great, average and horrible moments. The great, in my opinion, going well above and beyond anything on Wolves or any of their past albums. The average songs being below Wolves. And the horrible moments (the rapping on Deathrace *cough*) not deserving to be on anything even remotely metal related. The album seems to be all over the place sometimes, not giving you a good feeling of solidity throughout it like Wolves did.
Compared to Wolves, some Deadlock fans may be a little disappointed. But on it's own, it's an enjoyable album. Many of the songs on it will fade into obscurity, but a couple of the songs (look at the recommended tracks) I know I'll be listening to over and over again for the next few months.
Recommended Tracks: Dying Breed, The Brave / Agony Applause, Altruism (for fans of slower, melodic songs) and Martyr To Science

4.0 excellent | Jared Floryan | October 3rd 14 | Upon listening to Wolves not too long ago alongside revisiting the album succeeding Deadlock's official third offering, I've come to the conclusion that Manifesto is an overall improvement over what the German melodeath band had done previously. Yeah, the cheesy lyricism has somehow gotten cornier and (by extension) worse, though the more focused composition job in general coupled with less awkward vocal performances split between Sabine Scherer and Johannes Prem practically make up for the problematic wordcraft. Manifesto's certainly a catchier effort than Wolves which in and of itself had a fair share of infectious moments, though substance hasn't been forgotten at all either. A solid example of infusing abrasive sounds with a melodic bent and even some experimentalism thrown in. Angel recommends: "Martyr to Science," "Slaughter's Palace," "The Brave/Agony Applause," "Fire at Will," and "Dying Breed".

0.0 | ButcheredChildren | October 2nd 10 | "The best Deadlock album to date. Powerful dual vocals meet Scandinavian melodic death metal minus the orchestration and gothic atmosphere of Wolves." NO!!! Truth is this album is very average and the only reason I'm placing it as a 3 is because of that cool sax solo in "Fire At Will". Deadlock tried a new direction in their music and didn't do a very good job. Even their new version of "Kill Kill Kill" entitled "Seal Slayer" is not that great, the original was SO much better! If you are a diehard Deadlock fan because Wolves completely blew you out of the water then you will enjoy tracks "Martyr To Science", "The Brave/ Agony Applause", "Fire At Will" and "Dying Breed". Aside from those 4 gems the rest are all likeable depending on your own personal taste.

4.0 excellent | Pebster49 | November 20th 08 | Much improved transitions in their song writeing has caused this album to flourish compared to their very mixed bag albun "Wolves". Deadlocks lead singers, Sabine and Joe, seem more intuned with each others vocals, and well mixed this time around. While their song writeing really lacks in throwing in random rapping or techno mixes that sometimes does not mix well. Save that bad moment(fixable on Itunes but cutting that), overall their sound seem more fine tuned. The lead guitars are excellent with awesome catchy riffs while drumming does its job at keeping the music steady and on pace. Overall an awesome album, and should be checked out. Best Songs "The Brave / Agony Applause", "Fire At Will", "Slaughter's Palace", "Dying Breed" and "Altruism".

3.0 good | jingledeath | October 26th 08 | After listening to The Brave / Agony Applause you think that the band has progressed a lot with the new album but as you listen to the other songs, that impression fades away. The album has a few good songs but overall it's not better than Wolves. The addition of rapping to Deathrace was a horrible idea and might lead to them losing a few fans.
Highlight Tracks:The Brave / Agony Applause, Martyr To Science, Dying Breed (feat. Christian Alvestam) and Slaughter's Palace.
