Ok we are all admitting this squeaked then? Good.rThis slams. The riffs and songwriting are consistently delicious and just as visceral as a younger ND. There?s definitely even some experimentation with slower and more programmatic sounds which I think they pull off FANTASTICALLY well, and I was surprised. rHell of an album, shoe-in for the AOTY list

What an awesome continuation from Apex Predator. Production is a tad cleaner, yet they delve deeper in experimentation with this one, loosing a bit of the straight fw grindcore, specially noticeable in the post/ industrial takes a la Godflesh mixed with samples and nasty riffs like Pig Destroyer (f.e.), gives it this sense of dark/ disturbing instead of goofy. Def my kind of grindcore.

their genius just keeps building. goth rock deathgrind, absolutely contemporary in its anger. it's stupid that the best metal band of all time is a punk band but it also makes perfect sense and it's what you deserve

They still got it. Less straight-up grind than previous records, it starts with deathgrind bangers to slowly descend into industrial and noisy post-punk territories - without losing any of their well-known intensity. Focused, tight, and always managing to make you headbang: yup, these lads are consistent as hell.

Napalm Death have been pretty consistent over the last decade, but Throes in the Jaws of Defeatism doesn't have any reason to be as good as it is. Potential 4.5.

A consistently good neck-workout. I loved the variety within, and the album just flew by: bangers after bangers, and even the "rest" songs like 'Amoral' were great. Moreover, the more experimental tracks like the industrial 'A Bellyful of Salt and Spleen' were simply awesome. I really liked the mixing and mastering as well, fits perfectly to the album's punchiness.

This album is definitely their catchiest album. The riffs aren't as heavy and ear-splitting as the rest of their discography, but man, Napalm Death is so consistent for a band that's been around as long as them.
