Featuring a variety of guest vocalists and excellent production, Summer Of Darkness is one of Demon Hunter's better albums.

This is just a great album. It holds it's own amongst Demon Hunter's heaviest songs/albums just as easily as it does against their catchiest. It might even take top spot for aggression.

quite a step down from debut, a lot of s/ts raw aggression depleted for higher production and generic song writing. generally weaves between good track/bad track, not ready 2 die and beheaded are fun but awakening pisses me off, heartstrings has some real pathos, faces not as fun but still a thrashy lil thrill, title is the best track and certainly contains some of their most believable aggression, beauty is boring and long, annihilate is cool, i play dead doesnt seem like it would work but it does and i dont mind its full 5 min run time, finally coffin builder is a combination of cool nummy riffs and awkward af, rest is filler

With melodic clean vocals, excellent juxtaposition of the instrumentals with each other, varied song structures, enjoyable lyricism and good balance between the catchy and heavy aspects, Demon Hunter have put forth an effort that holds its own among their other work, and is only held back by occasional generic sections and the sometimes grating harsh vocals.
