This album owns hard. Vastly superior to all there previous output, its just a death metal wrecking ball from start to finish. Better riffs, better vocals, better drums. It even does the mash. A huge improvement over their last album. This band has serious potential and I hope they continue to grow and refine their sound. Incredible improvement, I was sure these guys definitely had it in them to improve shedloads. Songs are technical, tastefully written and varied and the vocals have become much more refined and interesting. Solos are great, riffs are cool and in general, the new sound is awesome. This album owns hard. Vastly superior to all there previous output, its just a death metal wrecking ball from start to finish. Better riffs, better vocals, better drums. Awesome. This album is 100 times better than anything JFAC have ever written. And any trace of deathcore they had before is entirely gone! Also, Jonny's vocals are sooooo good this time around, its amazing.
andddd Regurgitated Disinformation is insaneeee. The album rules a shit load. They have improved alot from their kiddie antics of doom and their ever so rushed genesis. This just crushes from start to finish, no ridiculous interludes/instrumentals are present and it just kills from start to end. Not to mention the vocals arent as boring as genesis, john successfully pulls off highs and lows which kind of give me a bdm feel, imo. Lastly the album art is fucking awesome, i do plan on buying this.

Job For A Cowboy have crafted a beast. They built it using evolved talent and a terrific vision, and have transformed my thoughts about them as a band. I explored this release on a whim, and i'm very glad i did.

Ruination crushes anything that Job For A Cowboy has previously released. The album is far from being the perfect death metal record (obviously), but it's still nice to know that the band is now making some decent contributions to the genre, regardless of how minor they are.

I love JFAC, but with deathmetal comes repetition that can get bland, and I find that this album does that a little. Still, a great piece of work. Summon The Hounds = CREAMIN'.

I like this album, the thing that makes it unique about it, is the fact, that Jonny's vocals sound more darker and they just did eliminate Deathcore from their music genres. I hate the Bree Bree Bree shit. It does get old, but I like the political agenda, that they do, compared to "Genesis" (2007) , it was actually good, but it had just had straight influences and hardcore punk. People think that was technical, no, this is technical, but not as a much as Decapitated. And, this emo person said, "It's technical as the band Death!" Well, Death are more technical than Decapitated. But, not as technical as Gorguts or Cynic or Atheist or Obscura. But, you get that picture, but scene kids are still ruling Job For A Cowboy's destiny on their music selections/choices. rFirst, they need to eliminate them. rSecondly, actually have no "BREE BREE!" sounding. Use regular growling.rIt's good, but it sucks in some form or in a another.

A decent album and a massive improvement from their deathcore origins however after the best song on the album starting it off (Unfurling Of A Darkened Gospel), the album drifts off into a honey like substance full of riffs that blur into one another, covering all song structure in their vicous sweetness.

well its an improvement on the borefest that was genesis and the downright horrible Doom. This doesnt take away from the fact that is just an average Tech-Death Album. Good but not great.

Without a doubt JFAC's best, they continue to further themselves from their initial Doom
sound and instead refine the Genesis sound to a deadly sharp point. Much more technical
sounding riffs, perhaps thanks to new guitarist and former Despised Icon axman Al Glassman,
and solid drumming from Jon 'The Charn' Rice. Ruination is easily one of the best Death
records of 2009 so far. However, through out the album it feels as if the riffs are
competing with Jonny Davy's vocals for your attention, creating a clashing and unorganized
sound. Overlooking that problem, Ruination is a must have for 2009 for any Death Metal fan.
