3.4 great | Erwann S. STAFF | April 9th 21 | The SATURATION trilogy was cool, playful, and fun. The two following albums were dark and disoriented, and Roadrunner lies halfway between these. It thus means there's plenty of stuff happening - which is cool - but without real cohesion - which is less cool we gotta agree there. The record's disjointed nature also reaffirms the band's upcoming scission, with some members participating only marginally. Banging parts are banging, but the (very few) bad parts do make sure you think they're bad ("I'll Take You On").

4.0 excellent | Gene Gol CONTRIBUTOR | January 19th 22 | Brockhampton's newest and consequently their last album proves another banger machine that dwindles in the second half a little.

3.5 great | MisterDoe | May 21st 21 | Even though the middle part of the album has some of the weakest songs of Brockhampton's career, I'll be damned if this album didn't have some of the most emotional and essential batch of songs the group has released thus far.

3.5 great | ajcollins15 | April 14th 21 | Let me start by saying this is a significant increase from Iridescent and in some cases Ginger. However, this is still nowhere close to the quality of the Saturation series, and for good reason. The album is split up into two fairly distinct characteristics, the heavy bangers, and the alternative RnB smoothers. ?Buzzcut?, ?Chain on Me?, ?Bankroll?, ?Windows?, and, ?Bankroll?, ?Don?t Shoot Up the Party? are all heavy-hitting bangers that bring back the booming energy of the Saturation series, plus bring in the explosiveness that they wanted in Iridescent. However, the RnB tracks are a bit of a hit or a miss. ?Count on Me?, ?The Light?, ?I?ll Take You On?, and ?What?s the Occasion?, ?When I Ball? are fairly solid alternative RnB tracks with the group?s usual flair of instrumental exploration. However, ?Old New? and ?The Light Part II? both are really dragging the record down for how overlie simple they are. For the most part this a really solid record and even the worst tracks are still solid, but they still drag the record down, plus the all-over nature of this project sonically also is fairly uncharacteristic for the group so that also kind of leads me with a sour taste in my mouth.

5.0 classic | encomium | April 12th 21 | It doesn't take long into Roadrunner for the listener to realize that it's the best album Brockhampton have released thus far - let alone, their best post-Saturation work. Sonically speaking, this album is immaculate and the producers of the group came through harder than ever. Yes, some of the members are less utilized than others (trust me, I wish Dom was on this more) but I think this album more so than any other BH album emphasizes Brockhampton as an individual idea rather than a defined collective. You are Brockhampton, I am Brockhampton, etc etc. Just holy shit, man. That's really all I can say. I love both Ginger and Iridescence but this blows both those out of the water to the point where they look worse in comparison. Easily my AOTY so far and I gotta remind myself to never doubt these guys again. They just keep releasing quality material, even if they've sort of fallen out of favor in the music community.

2.0 poor | charlopiano | April 11th 21 | I'm new to Brockhampton and while I can appreciate their production, the lyrics absolutely suck on that record, bad bars over bad bars with some really awful references, Peggy disappoints so much on his song.
