Based on the singles and everything I?ve heard leading up to this, I can assume this album is probably going to be an Underoath album

Almost every song sounds the same, and just boring. This is better than Erase Me, but that isn't saying much. This band lost their magic.

since there are already trolls coming out, i'm counter-rating. will change it when the album drops, so chill out. this is gonna be pretty good i thinkrEDIT: yeah this rules as expected, the singles are some of the weaker tracks

This is exactly what I was expecting from Underoath. Electronics, drums section and generally song composition is very recognizable and memorable. I'm glad they didn't follow the Erase Me style because it's causes some inner rejection.

Underoath takes the strongest musical elements of Erase Me and combined it with the rclassic sound of their three post-hardcore/vaguely post-metal works (DTGL/LITSOS/and a rstrong emphasis on the dark energy of Disambiguation). U/O lyrics continue to cut thru with rheavy jabs at the christian ethos that they were once brought up on. All of this is brought rtogether in a tight 10 track album with each of the musicians bringing their best performances rto date. If you're like me and loved the really dark energy of Disambiguation, rVoyeurist should scratch your itch for that satisfyingly brutal aesthetic: but now rwith more hooks, color and experimentation, all at the same time.

I thought on the last album they said "getoverit" like 14 times. Yeah, I'm over it. Whatever. Lost in the Sound is still their peak, guys larp on Disambiguation way too unnaturally. This band has been aging backwards like crazy lately, and this is the band that put out Chasing Safety mind you.

If you grew up listening to the warp-tour bands of the mid to late 2000s then Underoath will probably be a recognizable name. They were the creators of what would later be called the ?christiancore? genre (but later dropping their religious themes). On this new album, the band continues to explore the more industrial metal side of music and this album might be their peak of this sound. Although it reeks of BMTH influences, the riffs, vocals, screams, and synths all accumulate for a fun and intense listen.

An excellent return to form. Took what little worked
from the last album, blended it with the classic
heaviness and atmosphere the band was always so good
at to create an album that belongs besides the holy
trinity of bands past.
