Best album since Issues. I don't care if you hate Korn.. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a Korn album since the early 2000s. For it to be 2022 and Korn sounding this fresh is a testament to their talent.

This album seems a touch more experimental, and as a result organic. While the nothing may have
had its moments of "nostalgia bait" requiem feels like a korn unstuck in time, and willing to
experiment with sonic environments both heavy and melodic. while still conjuring a
calming/aggressive and darkly mysterious experience. Ironically it also feels like Korn have
regained a former spark of creativitity they haven't tapped into since Issues. Proving that
intentionally treading old ground was holding back a great deal of potential for the band.
I have a very strong emotional attatchment to this band. I used to fall asleep to See You On The
Other Side every night as a kid. Your experience with Requiem will likely depend on whether or
not you felt that same emotional resonance, if you used korn as an escape, or if their music
provided a reprieve.
And to you, fellow KoRn fan. Let this be some justification for all the headbanging you'll be
doing even after Sputnik staff shits all over this thing.

This album is a big descent from previous album on quality. But Start the Healing is solid track

Despite its short duration, Requiem is a consistent and tight album that pounds heavily in the classic Korn sound. It is fresh and accessible with its guitars rumbling and crunching in a groovy rhythm section. Lyrically, the album captures Jonathan Davis at a transitional point in his life and does not follow the bleak, dark and despairing tone of The Nothing. His vocal performance is excellent as he sings, growls and yells throughout the record with enough clarity. He even throws his trademark "mmmm ding-a duh-dinga" in a very effective way in "Worst is on its Way", a throwback to their hit "Freak On a Leash". Other than that, I found the opening track "Forgotten" with its archetypal Korn groove and "Let the Dark Do The Rest" with its pulsating riff and catchy chorus, two very solid tracks. Along with "Penance to Sorrow", this quartet is what I keep from Requiem.

Album is good. Not great, but pretty good. Let The Dark Do The Rest is one of the band’s best tracks ever, the
chorus is 10/10. The rest of the album ranges from really good to really average for the band. If more tracks had
been like track 2, it could’ve bumped higher
