4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | February 29th 24 | Upon my initial listen, "Loss Of Life" didn't quite resonate with me. The somewhat traditional psychedelic elements, which the band had utilized in the past, weren't particularly appealing to me, and that sentiment hadn't shifted. However, with each subsequent listen, my appreciation for the album has grown. The band's fifth studio release demonstrates a progression in their ever-evolving psychedelic sound, delving into more linear and understated musical landscapes. "Loss Of Life" serves as an existential narrative, shedding light on the overlooked individuals in the United States, and the subtlety of the music reflects this theme. I recommend giving it a chance and exercising patience, because once it clicks, it's difficult to forget its impact.

3.3 great | Erwann S. STAFF | February 23rd 24 | Loss of Life could've been a really excellent record if only the most subdued songs would have been given the energy their (kinda) catchy melodies deserve.

4.5 superb | REANIMATED | February 25th 24 | The slow songs are their best work. Last 4 tracks will make you cry. OPN production assistance is absolutely wild on here too.

3.0 good | Brabiz | January 28th 24 | After a string of perfect singles, it?s a bit depressing to admit that while the first 6 tracks are fantastic and memorable, the last 4 kill the streak and fall into a pit of slow, sedated same-y acoustic tracks. The impeccable Peter Gabriel - So vibes of tracks 3 and 4 never pop up again, the energy of Bubblegum Dog and the bright, lush pop of Nothing To Declare never return. It just sinks into a swamp of forgettability and ruins what would?ve been a highlight of the year for me. Maybe re-arranging the tracklist would alleviate this, but i?m not so sure. Disappointing.
