These Argentinians had an eventful early career, with ups and downs, changes and
circumstances, both their own and others', that affected them. However, with this first
compilation album (and co-produced by Andres Calamaro) they achieved success driven by the
video of Matador on MTV Latino, one of the two new songs on the album. The videos Vasos
Vacios (with Celia Cruz), Mal Bicho, Manuel Santillan "El Leon" and the cover of "Strawberry
Fields Forever" were tattooed on the retinas of millions of Latin Americans. rThe
musicality, wit and humor of a political band that wore the shoes of rumba, struggle and
mestizaje to the rhythm of ska/reagge/rock managed to catapult them into the music scene of
the region with a more stable recognition and the invitation to successive festivals in
Latin America. For me it was the definitive arrival of Latin rock to my heart.
