The first half is magnificent vocal ambient, ideal to immerse yourself in a sleepy haze. The second half contains a bit more vocals and it's clearly sadder in contrast with the first one that was (almost) uplifting.

The first half of this album is amazing and exactly why I love Grouper. A very unique brand of vocal ambient, bordering on noise and drone. Stunning. The second half however drops in quality in my opinion and goes more into a sad minimialistic pop direction which I enjoy a lot less. 3.6

I wish I could like this as much as her other work. But it just seems too samey and nothing really sticks out to me to warrant its length. It seemed like an hour of mostly the same music. The only stand-out tracks were Alien Observer, Dragging The Streets and Come Softly.

There just wasn't enough going on. DADDUAH is one of my favorite albums of all time, but this one bored me to tears. Pretty tinkling isn't enough to make an album.

This is disappointing considering how good Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill was, and especially considering what high ratings this album is getting. It begins endearingly, with some great atmospheres, but as the album drags on, the atmospheres become more tedious and it becomes harder and harder to remain interested, until finally you realize that you don't remember a damn thing about what you just heard. The nearly-hour-and-a-half run time doesn't help, either.
