4.0 excellent | Thor | March 19th 12 | willfellmarsy doesn't know dick. This is the most complicated and intricate album in the rband's fucking awesome discography. If the jazz guitar section in "Carved In The Wind" rdoesn't please you, I don't know what death metal could.r...and apparently I ruined his day more than this album did. Keep pretending to know more rabout metal than everyone else, if that's what gets you off. And there's no other memorable rjazz parts on the album? Did you even listen to "Varangian Paradise"? Thanks for keeping the rspirit of self-entitled Sputnik elitism alive in 2012.

1.5 very poor | willfellmarsy | March 16th 12 | Where are the Gorod parts? Album sounds like new Gorod is aiming for American death metal fans, by far the most generic collection of songs they have done (I question whether i'd even know this was Gorod if it wasn't for 5000 at a Funeral and Carved in the Wind)...the biggest problem (besides the lack of original songwriting so present in all of their previous work) is the new vocalist...he's awful, not a moment where he doesn't pull down the overall experience due to his tiresome, overdone, i've heard this in every deathcore band ever approach...when you have to throw in spoken word sections in a 38 minute album just to keep the vocals sounding fresh, there's a big problem and any time he varies it up(spoken, singing), it comes off as forced if not laughable (There is only one...Goddddd) . For me, no other death metal band can touch any of Gorod's previous work but this ain't that Gorod...this will be the album that wins them many fans in the scene, but probably will be the jump the shark moment...if you liked Gorod and what they were about, you won't like this...I couldn't be more disappointed
Ps Thor is a fag, keep being the News Mod, if you can swallow this mainstream bologna you're just a sheep. This album is made to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Carved in the Wind is the only song that comes near the rest of their work...this is laughable...the spoken word sections are atrocious and the majority of the album sounds like it could be the most recent All Shall Perish release. The uniqueness is gone thus it appeals to users like thor who want "yo that was an awesome, easy to swallow listen. My father penetrates me at night"...the drummer is invisible, no finesse... And where's the bassist? Point to apart like any fill on even their worst, Process of a New Decline. Where is there well thought out, full songs like Disavow Your God, Almighty's Murder, State of Seceret? It's made to be accessible...
Oh wait, you said it's "fucking awesome". That's definitely a legit definition. I'm sure the majority of the fans of this would be like "yo mah dude, this fucking awesome shit is like so cool...I mean, the vocalist double demon layered bullshit vocals so hard. And the guitar stuff is fucking awesome. And the drummer is so fast man he just blasts and doubles all over that fucking awesome shit I just can't handle it. I don't remember any parts other than the wicked guitars tho because they're so fucking awesome. And that one memorable jazz part on the ENTIRE ALBUM. Yo its so kewlllll. And that there is only one god part lolololololo rofl lmao omg omg Soooooooooo RAD...Tubular and shit"

3.5 great | Bedex | September 30th 20 | Based on the appalling artwork I was expecting the worst Gorod yet, but surprisingly this turned out to be my fave of theirs so far in their discog, and for now the only LP I could see myself coming back to. Finally they offer a real album intro again like on the debut, and a quite nice sort of classical piece at that. While the vocals arent the best to my taste, the aggressive entry on 2 is quite cool. Then the track goes back to more regular Gorod material. But this time - and this applies to the whole album, they turned the wankery bit I don't like way done with fewer pointless solos and whatnot, they stripped away the pig vocals, and the record generally insists more on its prog metalcore tendencies and less on mindless deathcore etc. On 2 the riff at 3:15 is kinda cool for example, and 3-4 are also fine. 5 is a bit of a stumble with an awful midtrack and a sudden pause at the end which sounds like it shouldn't be there, making you think you just finished an EP. The intro to 6 is really cool though, showing how good they are with soft sections which offers some great ear rest that was sorely missed in prior records. 7 makes the solos etc work quite well with a nice groove from the midtrack onwards. 8 is my favourite track on here, displaying all the band's best traits (despite not being perfect) with nice non wankery technicity, a cool soft part at 2:20, and lots of ideas and depth in general. 9 comes back to regular Gorod, and while there is still boring soloing etc it doesn't feel as awful as on prior record since there was such a long nice break from it. 3.5

3.5 great | GamamJ | July 29th 20 | Just a bit better than Decline, but not quite up there with Gorod?s first two. A Perfect Absolution sees Dorod double-down on groove and techy playing while still concentrating on their compositions. A vocal change leads to a greater range and the occasional (not very good) clean vocals. My main gripe is the lack of the jayy influence that was seen a lot in Leading Visions. Bring it back boys!

0.0 | CaptainDooRight | March 20th 12 | good music right here. I don't like to call this technical death metal because of the cliche, rather I view this as death metal/jazz/ progressive

3.0 good | smashedneck | March 20th 12 | this album is good, just not great, and the new vocalist just doesnt cut it IMO.

3.0 good | Yazz_Flute | March 17th 12 | Album definitely has its neat moments but it's pretty much 'just a tech death album.' I'll just listen to Leading Vision again.

0.0 | Yea, my final legacy to this piece-of-shit site. | March 15th 12 | I was thinking about giving this album a chance, but I'm not gonna listen to this until a user with credible taste in death metal tells me that this doesn't completely suck cock. Until then, I'm just gonna assume it's awful because it's modern tech death.
