| Some 2014 Obscure Kvlt
I like introducing new music, so here's some krieg stuff that you might rnot've heard of from this ryear. | 1 | | Adabroc Iolaire
Adabroc's stuff is solid atmospheric black metal. On his new EP he even adds a
little folk influence in the form of minor flute usage. Interesting drumming and
melodies, and it's free on his website. | 2 | | nic/Old Soul nic/Old Soul Split
"nic" is the nameless blackgaze band. As pretentious as the name is, they make
solid blackgaze, and on this split with Old Soul they churn out 20-minutes of
deafheaven-esque post-blackgaze. Old Soul's side is equally solid. Very good split
release.

http://wedonthaveaname.bandcamp.com/album/split-w-old-soul | 3 | | Country Doctor Country Doctor
Really raw blast-driven melodic black metal. I wrote a review for this one go check
it out.
http://countrydoctor.bandcamp.com/ | 4 | | Yellow Eyes The Desert Mourns
A surprise release from noisy black metalers Yellow Eyes. Similar to last year's
album in style, but with only two slightly longer tracks. Solid.
http://yelloweyes.bandcamp.com/ | 5 | | Ahamkara The Embers Of The Stars
Solid atmospheric/melodic black metal.
http://theembersofthestars.bandcamp.com/releases | 6 | | Nemesis Sopor Glas
Another atmospheric bm band I found on bandcamp. Quality stuff.
http://nemesissopor.bandcamp.com/album/glas | 7 | | Worsen Blood
Short black metal EP with a noticeable punk vibe.
http://worsenbm.bandcamp.com/ | 8 | | Griefloss Ruiner
Blackgaze/dsbm with excellent clean vocals.
http://griefloss.bandcamp.com/ | 9 | | The Apache Revolver The Morningstar
This is some weird stuff. A self-described "surf rock black metal band," Apache
Revolver uses some surf rock guitar passages in between bouts of standard black
metal riffing and blasting. As lulzy as it sounds, it's actually really interesting.
http://theapacherevolver.bandcamp.com/album/the-morningstar-ep | 10 | | Paramnesia Paramnesia
If you like Ash Borer, Fell Voices, or any of those other long-winded atmospheric bm
bands, then check this out. Two 20-minute slabs of music in the vein of early Ash
Borer. This band also did a split with Unru, both sides of which are fantastic.

Go read Wiz's review for this if you haven't already. WitTR with icy riffs and some
crusty punk vibes.
http://sunworship.bandcamp.com/ | 12 | | The Great Old Ones Tekeli-Li
Best BM of the year imo. Beautiful production values, full atmospheres, and
tremolos out that wazoo. It's pretty, it's crushing, and it's about HP Lovecraft.
Why have you NOT checked this out yet?
http://thegreatoldones.bandcamp.com/ | 13 | | Black Monolith Passenger
Deafheaven with d-beats. Icy riffs. 2nd best black metal of 2014 imo. I wrote a review thing for it go check it out.
http://blackmonolith.bandcamp.com/ | 14 | | Woman is the Earth Depths
another good atmospheric bm band.
http://womanistheearth.bandcamp.com/ | 15 | | Saor Aura
THIS IS GOING TO STREAM ON SPUTNIK ON 6/2/14. THIS IS TOMORROW. HYPE. | 16 | | Panopticon Roads to the North
m/ | 17 | | Hope Drone
Spacier deafheaven finished their second album a while ago. Should be out this
summer, I assume. | 18 | | Arizmenda Stillbirth in the Temple of Venus
Out this summer. Put it on your calendar. | 19 | | Alda Passage
It's coming out sometime this year! | 20 | | Forteresse / Chasse-Galerie / Monarque / Csejthe Legendes
This already came out but it rules. | |

06.02.14 | appreciate the descriptions dude. will check out some of these | Relinquished
06.02.14 | keep fighting the good fight tummyache | zaruyache
06.02.14 | I will try, sir. | pedro70512
06.02.14 | I would also throw The Wounded Kings, Fleshworld, Barrowlands, and Sun Worship on here. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
06.02.14 | too bad its not your list!
also sun worship IS on here | pedro70512
06.02.14 | Huh...so it is. Well at least it means he agrees. And yeah, too bad it isn't my list or I'd have a bunch more super sweet kvlt metal in my library. | Artuma
06.02.14 | thank you so fucking much for this list, gonna check at least some of these for sure | Gwyn.
06.02.14 | It's not true kvlt if it's in the database | TheSpirit
06.02.14 | Looks like I have some work to do. Check out the new Cirrhus, it's right up your alley. | zaruyache
06.02.14 | I'll try to listen to Cirrhus again. I think I tried before but wasn't into it but I'll listen again anyway! And Saor said on facebook that his album would stream today, so keep an eye open for that news/blog spot. | joitp
09.30.14 | Amazing list, thanks for the tips! Really enjoyed most of them. | Tyler.
09.30.14 | wait saor streamed on sputnik? that's so cool | zaruyache
09.30.14 | He sort of did. Believe 'Sput was slow to the draw on getting it out, so the guy got impatient and I think he streamed it on bandcamp a little before Sput officially streamed it themselves. | Judio!
09.30.14 | It's true haha, just found the post from the band's facebook. He seemed pretty annoyed at Sputnik.
https://www.facebook.com/saorofficial/posts/279643355551846 | YakNips
09.30.14 | i rlly like 2, which should i jam if i like that one?? | pedro70512
09.30.14 | 2, 10, 12, 15, 16 are all good-to-great. I've heard *of* a bunch of these but need to actually listen. Paramnesia/TGOO was the best double-promo of the year. | zaruyache
10.01.14 | I honestly don't know of any other bm/screamo bands doing the more aggressive blast-oriented sound displayed on that split. Closest I know would be deafheaven but I'm sure you've heard their stuff already.
was gonna consider making another list like this with new digs but honestly the last 2-ish months haven't been that exciting for me bm-wise. Been finding a bit of good post-rock instead, which is still definitely a good thing. | pedro70512
10.01.14 | Epistasis flirts with it. You'd probably enjoy their new album.
