A truly beautiful atmospheric black metal piece of art. Everything is set up in a way that is entrancing and soothing at the same time.
Blut Aus Nord Deus Salutis Meae
What an epic journey. Very diverse. Catchy and super interesting.
Blut Aus Nord Triunity
A masterpiece, dissonant, having masterful production that sounds simply delicious and simply so original and creative that it leaves the listener speachless.
Blut Aus Nord 777 - Cosmosophy
This is so beautiful. It really cures all pain and sadness, in case you got any.

Burzum Det Som Engang Var
Burzum Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Burzum Burzum
Burzum Burzum Demo
Absolutely superb sound, atmosphere and songwriting. Almost too good for a promo
Burzum Balders Død (Dauði Baldrs demo)
I am of course biased and wierd to have Daudi Baldrs as one of my favorite albums ever. This sounds great and shockingly I even find the tehno pieces very original and enjoyable.
Cannibal Corpse Hammer Smashed Face
Absolutely great stuff. Magnificent songs, amazing production, love the guitars' chunkiness, the bass tone and of course the bloody vocals
Cardinals Folly Defying The Righteous Way
Such a beauty, mistique to the latest glimpse of soul, needs to be approached with an openmind.
Cerebral Rot Odious Descent Into Decay
Fabulous stuff, cannot praise this enough, not sure why it did not instantly click , this absolutely great death metal.
Coldworld Melancholie²
Count Raven High On Infinity
Although you can feel Ozzy sings on this at times it is done so well and so varied that it surely counts as a big plus. Drums sound as well so good and are following truly creative patterns. Guitars are a mix of crunchy and melodic. Really superb stuff.
Cultes Des Ghoules Henbane
Darkthrone The Underground Resistance
Darkthrone F.O.A.D.
Darkthrone Sardonic Wrath
Darkthrone Astral Fortress
Rating this at 4 is showing that I do
not learn from my mistakes. I had to
bump up the previous 2 albums multiple
times, will probably do the same here ..

Edit: of course I cannot listen to
anything else..switched up to 4.5
Deathspell Omega Paracletus
Dunerider Ruins
I have hit play on this with close to no expectations. I found uniqueness, creativity, atmosphere and all the slow headbangable riffs that stoner usually brings to the table. The make it or break it elements are though the guitar tone and the vocals, which I both just love.
Electric Wizard Black Masses
Electric Wizard Dopethrone
Erebos (POL) Nan iChir Gelair Mordor
Fen Epoch
Fen The Malediction Fields
Fleshrot (USA-TX) Demo 2020
Fluisteraars Gegrepen Door de Geest der Zielsontluiking
Listening to this only now is definitely a big mistake. Wonderful stuff
Forming the Void Skyward
This would have been stellar as instrumental. rAdding some of the best vocals out there make me be all over this.r
Heights of despair On the Heights of Despair
The World in Which Nothing Is Solved is one of
my favourite songs ever. Super underatted band,
not sure how they remained so underground.
High on Fire De Vermis Mysteriis
Best Pike vocals on display on this album. The production seems more claustrophobic than the previous albums which I can dig, especially that the bass is so round and fat.r
Hooded Menace Fulfill the Curse
Midnight Odyssey Ruins of a Celestial Fire
Mizmor Yodh
struggled a lot to get passed the first scream. I am into extreme vocals but that was just to intense. But I insisted and now it works like a charm. Crushing, bone chilling, fat sound. Very unique.
Mizmor Yodh - Live at Roadburn 2018
it's basically Yodh live. I am amazed how this can sound even scarier than the studio album version. Excellent musicianship, love the full, clear but NOT polished. Instead, what we have here is a rather organic sound. A live album that feels so live.
Moonspell Under the Moonspell
Moonspell Under Satanae
My Dying Bride The Ghost of Orion
Everybody says this needs multiple listens to
fully grasp. It is indeed so, it started from
lukewarm upon first listen and moved up the
ladder to downright amazing for me after
repeated listens. Lyrics are as well amongst
the best I have ever seen. Just beautiful
stuff.
My Dying Bride Sinamorata (DVD)
So so lovely, absolutely superb atmosphere and bonus materials. Solemn, classy, just mesmerising.
My Dying Bride The Barghest o’ Whitby
Way too long build-up for a climax that is not as good as I would have expected. These were my thoughts after the first listen. What a fool I was. This is such a massive grower, extremely original, very entertaining and ending in a magnificent manner.
My Dying Bride The Vaulted Shadows
Contains some of the best MdB songs although coming from 2 EPs and they flow so well together.
My Dying Bride A Harvest Of Dread
This is more than 5 hours of MdB goodies, absolutely brilliant stuff. Demo versions, live, band members' favourites.
Napalm Death Smear Campaign
Napalm Death From Enslavement to Obliteration
Napalm Death Apex Predator - Easy Meat
Nekromantheon Visions of Trismegistos
Very refreshing thrash, a true bomb with excellent riffs ,such tasty leads and solos and jaw dropping vocals.
Obituary World Demise
Obituary The End Complete
Obituary Slowly We Rot
Obliteration Black Death Horizon
Paramaecium Exhumed of the Earth
Paysage d'Hiver Steineiche
Portal Avow
One would say that a guy that was listening to Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Napalm death and the likes since the early 90s would not get easily intimidated but I mean this is very frightening and disturbing - in a very enjoyable way, of course.r
Primordial To the Nameless Dead
Reverend Bizarre III: So Long Suckers
I rarely listen to trad doom, just not my thing. So ...we have here obnoxiously long songs clocking at over 2 hours in total under the monicker of a cringy album title.. which were the odds? I love this, the repetition gives a funeral doom (which I dig big time) aroma , there is a feel of natural, unforced organic in the superb flow, the riffs are not reinventing the wheel but are rolling like few other wheels can whilst the vocals are dinamic, superb, special, mind-blowing.
Reverend Bizarre Death Is Glory... Now
You rarely get so much goodness in a single release, bsides, tracks from splits, a plethora of covers. This is top quality stuff, excelent andtrad doom , very well produced with trademark top notch beautifully insane vocals. The instrumental part is quite playful, but all the experimentation is done with lots of taste and inspiration. As well, most of the time there is a feel that this was was done effortlessly and I am saying that in the best possible way, it just flows so naturally and keeps you hooked and entertained at all times.
Rorcal The Way We Are, The Way We Were, The Way...
However I would describe this it will sound generic. But nothing could be further from the truth. This is having a fantastic atmosphere , superb songwriting, great guitar sound, amazing drumming and insane vocals. I am blown away.
Rorcal Creon
This flows so well, almost giving me an atmospheric black metal feel, so beautiful.
Sanguisugabogg Pornographic Seizures
Saturnalia Temple Paradigm Call
Septicflesh The Ophidian Wheel
Septicflesh Mystic Places of Dawn
Sepultura Under Siege: Live in Barcelona
Shades of Deep Water Waterways
Sleep Sleep's Holy Mountain
It takes time investment to fully understand it, the whole stoner world and Sleep's one of a kind stage presence. Just magnificent stuff with a feel that is unique but hard to get within several casual listens.
Sleep The Sciences
So beautiful, so eerie, so catchy, an amazing return, I am so happy they got back together.
Sodality Gothic
When I saw the album title I thought I will skip this in 30 seconds. Nothing against Gothic but this a very unoriginal name. Tossing that out, I was stunned of how well crafted and mind numbing this is. It is as unsettling as Sektarism, Emptiness or Hallowed butchery. Extremely diverse, very varied tempo wise, generally doomy and atmospheric but topped with some monstrous riffs that completely go out of the Black Metal spectre with almost a wall of sound effect often coming out of nowhere and leaving the listener in awe whilst vocals are truly amazing through their sheer quality but also through their unpredictability.

Terra Tenebrosa The Purging
The Ruins of Beverast Exuvia
The Ruins of Beverast Rain Upon the Impure

This is mind-blowing, very hard to find better songwriting, genious, subtle, rythms crawling under your skin.
Ulcerate Everything Is Fire
Ulcerate The Destroyers of All
Undergang Aldrig i livet
Straightforward, crushing, beautifully filthyly. Starts of a bit predictable but spices up from middle onwards. I also love how the band conveys power and control over its craft. It literally owns the listener. Another banger from the Danish monsters.
Undergang Misantropologi
Urfaust Compilation Of Intoxications
As usual, magnificent vocals are empowered by
mesmerising atmospheres and psihedelic vibes.
Warhorse (USA) As Heaven Turns to Ash
Windhand Levitation Sessions
When a band sounds like this live you gotta give them tons of respect. Dorthia's vocals never sounded better, simply divine.
Zolle Zolle
Instrumental sludge packed full with engaging and greatly executed riffs.

4.0 excellent
Abhorrent funeral Ugly Tales
Such a beast of an album. Slow, punishing, reminds me of masters like Cerebral Rot and Undergang.
Abstract Spirit Tragedy and Weeds
Abysmal Grief Feretri
Abysmal Grief Abysmal Grief
Abysmal Grief Misfortune
Abysmal Grief Foetor Funereus Mortuorum
Abysmal Grief Exsequia Occulta
Abysmal Grief Reveal Nothing...
Excellent compilation showing the keyboard and organ heavy mastery of these super underatted doomsters. The only complaint I have is that generally compilations are not working for metal, it is better to hear out the original albums in the first place although these are previously unreleased or taken from singles or EPs.
Abysmal Grief Mors Eleison
Absolutely delicious, gorgeous riffs, unique atmosphere and an unreal vibe.
Abysmal Grief The Samhain Feast
Let's get something straight: these guys can ?i no wrong. So creative, so refreshing, so enjoyable.

There is reason in the madness: great production and really Cthulhian in all vibes

The guitars sound a bit muffled. Other than that this is an absolute beast.
Cannibal Corpse Torturing and Eviscerating
This sounds absolutely magnificent, faboulous song selection
Cardinals Folly Orthodox Faces
Short and sweet. Tempo variety handled magnificently, sound production is perfect. It feels at times like doom metal vibed riffs under a thrash rythm.

Not really impressed by any particular instrument taken separately but they make an excellent blend together. Some highlights include: incredible mix of the drumming with a sort of a thunder reverb (my interpretation of this) I don't think I heard before, the absolutely unique vocals and the production that is organic, foresty and grandiose at the same time.

This shines due to its high level of originality in a genre spectre that is littered by samey outputs. Just scratching the surface: the tempo variety is huge, the vocals are so different between songs that I cannot even think of one other band that goes for this, not to mention the language used in Sardinian, didn't even know that's a thing.

High on Fire Art of Self-Defense
This is definitely more on fire than high. Very ferocious for a stoner flag holder, feels like a mean machine is after you and you have no way out. Huge props for achieving this with neat riffs and a warm, round atmosphere and sound. I like the variety on the vocal side as well.
High on Fire Surrounded by Thieves
Very heavy stoner, very far away from Sleep in terms of agressivenes and not only. Not worse, just different.
High on Fire Blessed Black Wings
well...as ironic as it sounds this might turn me into Motorhead.. heavy, old school, excellent, I love the overall sound with the fat guitars, those cymbals are great and what can one ask for more in terms of vocals. It feels so organic that one could take it for a live album quite easily. Oh yes, as well, involuntary almost continuous headbanging is guaranteed.
High on Fire Death Is This Communion
I am calling most metal albums generic, well, they are...I have a very hard time explaining why this is not at all generic given that on paper it does not have something special; on the contrary, this is brilliant, very engaging, I love it. It feels like the Champions League, some of goals seem so simply built that anyone could potentially do it but in fact you need huge player and team quality to pull it off. Same with this album, it all feels just naturally right. One thing I do see strange, I feel that vocals are not used as much as on other albums, even leaving out the interludes . Is it a calculated scheme to make us crave for more and more..Last thing, I would give this an even higher rating if it wasn't for 'Ethereal', only 7 minutes in the album slightly underwhelming.
High on Fire Electric Messiah
There is no doubt, no dude has put out 2 albums that I like more within the same year. He sure is the dude of all dudes. I hope there is no need to say who am I talking about.
Hinterkaifeck Iniquitous Foul
Early Napalm Death vibes here, very dinamic, poignant and diverse. The wrapping contains many insane guitar riffs that also resonate with Black Metal.
Hooded Menace Effigies of Evil
Hooded Menace Never Cross the Dead
Hooded Menace The Tritonus Bell
This is so enjoyable, how can it being such a mystique with such simple riffs and hooks?

Lluvia Eternidad Solemne
Lord Vicar Fear No Pain
Crunchy, fat, warm production wrapping up doom mastery in the Sabbath, Reverend bizarre vein. Vocals are truly special and giving the uniqueness to the emotive, catch vibe. At a superficial listen this sounds run to the mill doom but the sheer quality, although subtle, is downright excellent.
Lord Vicar Signs of Osiris
Such classy trad doom. An untrained ear could confuse this with Sabbath and I am saying this as a compliment. A trained ear would feel more of a Reverend Bizarre in the instrumental work - which might be a boring and predictable thing to say from my side.
Lord Vicar Gates of Flesh
Just beautiful, such a mix of emotions , from joy and hope to melancholy to despair.

It is hard to describe what a finely crafted piece of art this is. The kind of crushing doom that feels like coming from the hand of a magnificent painter. The album has such a high level of majesty and theatrical grandeur that it drives you into a meditating headbang.
Megalith Levitation Acid Doom Rites
76 minutes of droney stuff and quite a dismal album picture. I did not go in filled with enthusiasm. But oh boy this keeps me interested throughout its magnificent, greatly timed and innovative approach.

their warmest so far, very crushing and good just not bone chilling
Mizmor This Unabating Wakefulness
starts with a long beautiful intro. Of course this gets one very worried about what's next given what Mizmor usually turns into: that is a beast that destroy your brains (in a good way of course). The intro is 7 minutes long but remains interesting as it is spiced up with beautiful chants and a series of undertone melodies that flow beautifully and threatening at the same time. Post the intro we have extreme ferocity, great sounding at top speed initially, doomier and more toned down towards the end.

My Dying Bride As the Flower Withers
So raw, so heavy, extremely organic, love the doomy and gloomy vibe. Excellent old school death metal.
My Dying Bride Like Gods of the Sun
Great riffs pulverising the exceptional atmosphere, this one is a very engaging whilst also sorrowful output. Top notch drum work as well.
My Dying Bride The Dreadful Hours
Majestic, sublime, eerie, crushing, really impressive. The atmosphere is pulled out in a magnificent fashion.
My Dying Bride Anti-Diluvian Chronicles
A monster compilation. It sounds so well and blends cohesively for an uter enjoyment (in a dark and dreary sense of course).
My Dying Bride A Line of Deathless Kings
Elegantly crushing, such a tasteful album, growing more and more with each listen.
My Dying Bride An Ode to Woe
Such a soul enriching experience, setlist is great, theatrics have a lot of refinement and depth.
My Dying Bride A Map of All Our Failures
Super blend of melody and heaviness, cleans and growls, almost ambient and all out ferocious attacks.
My Dying Bride The Manuscript
Love the guitar tone, vocals and songwriting. Minor complaints: drums are a bit thin and although I like the individual songs a lot they do not blend too well.
My Dying Bride Feel the Misery
The maturity of the band is fully visible on how much the band is in control of its craft here, a heavy, emotion filled, inspired craft that is.
My Dying Bride Meisterwerk III
Really appreciate the massiveness of this , filled with rawer than the norm material, sound just wonderful to my ears.
My Dying Bride Macabre Cabaret
The sound is just perfect, mid-paced, hypnotic doom, very enjoyable.
My Dying Bride A Mortal Binding
Mysticisme Rites
Napalm Death Order of the Leech
Napalm Death The Peel Sessions
Napalm Death Resentment is Always Seismic...
There is nothing stopping the ND machine. Very intense and one of their most diverse outputs. Barney continues to be absolutely stunning, the drumming is top notch and did you hear that bass tone?
Necrot Blood Offerings
There are tons of bands in this vein but this stands out with the catchiness, jazzy production and by not forcing it at any time..
Necrot Mortal
Well well well, these guys know how to put together a non stop headbanging piece of osdm

Pentacle ...Rides the Moonstorm
Pentacle Under the Black Cross
Perverted Ceremony Sabbat of Behezaël
This is an absolutely delicious gem. I still struggle to understand why I needed multiple listens to get it, a one of a kind cavemen black metal with simple delicious hooks, keeps you nodding your head all throughout with it's superb speed handling.

Such a super delicious pie with mushrooms and cheese , cooked properly slow and garnished with crunchy riffs.

Very unexpected, celestial indeed, the whole thing is so pure and otherworldly.

Reverend Bizarre II: Crush The Insects
'Doom over the world' was for quite some time one of my most disliked songs ever, mainly due to the chorus on the refrain. I have come to peace with it meanwhile after many many listens. 'Cromwell' is an excellent banger and contributed a lot in me clicking with the band. Overall the album is quite upbeat and sounding happier than the debut which is not necessarily a good thing in metal but this band has got quality to pull out many diverse things. It is definitely more diverse as well. Very strong overall.
Reverend Bizarre In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend
Nothing bizarre here, we are having a very talented group of individuals that have great synergy and implicitly they have managed to put out this excelent riff filled journey, having heartfelt and quite magical vocals toped by so many subtle nuances that put me down in awe. Or up. I don't know. A real gem here.r
Reverend Bizarre Return to the Rectory
Superb doom. diverse stuff. Contains Aleister, one of the best doom metal songs, period. Vocals are absolutely brilliant all across with high variety.
Ride for Revenge Feed The Infamy
Warm bass, intricate fills, unique feeling. They deliver again. Extremely underated band imho
Rorcal Muladona
This is more intense than Dragged in the sunlight and Teitanblood, never thought I would get to say this. Probably got there as this is moving me in a very profound way.
Ruin Spread Plague Death
Absolutely magnificent caveman metal. Chunky chunchy slow riffs, vocals are really unique and fitting and yes, also very diverse in terms of songwriting.
Ruin Drown in Blood
Ruin Human Annihilation
Ruin Plague Transmissions (Vol.1)
RuYYn RüYYn
Probably the random find of the year for me. Top notch songwriting, atmosphere and production.
Sand Into Glass Till the End
Sometimes you can be in the position of anticipating exactly what will happen next whilst still being surprised because although it did happen it was done with some nuances that were so fulfilling. Absolutely gorgeous work
Sand Into Glass Waves of fire
The cover is just too good for me not too get my expectations high. And .. hell yeah..fresh..interesting...keeps you hooked all the time... brilliant stuff
Sand Into Glass Slopes of Doubt
Sanguine Relic Vampyric Will
Sanguisugabogg Tortured Whole
Hell yeah, jump on the bandwagon of knuckle drugging metal

No point in discussing over this instrument by instrument. This is pure atmosphere that is tearing down all your shields and pulls you down into a melancholic state that can hardly be taken away.
Shrine Of Insanabilis Disciples Of The Void
Absolute madness, a major grower of an album,
this is magnificent in terms of song
arrangements, the atmospheric bits coming just
in time to heal the wounds from the previous
ferocious attacks. It is all across very well
balanced but what I appreciate most is that it
is very well crafted and very varied and never
gets boring.
Siege Column Darkside Legions
Siege Column Inferno Deathpassion
Skaphe Skáphe
Slayer Live Undead
Sleep Jerusalem
Of course it is excellent but such a lame story behind this. I am happy that despite the lack of guts and inspiration from the former recording company the one song album was still releases one day and way later the band also reunited.
Sleep Dopesmoker
One of a kind, mesmerising experience. I have 'worked' a lot (years of trying it once in a while) to get into it but it was definitely worth yet.

The Ruins of Beverast Foulest Semen of a Sheltered Elite
The Ruins of Beverast The Thule Grimoires
Too obsessed about the claustrophobic feel I get from most of its albums and about whatever one would use to describe what's breathing out of Exuvia to put this at the peak of glorious Ruins catacombs but nonetheless this is magnificent.r
The Temple (NZ) The Temple
I hate this kind of generic band names and self titled albums. So I have skipped this through every time I got it in the feed. Until the split with Acolytes of Moros popped up. What a gem of a band

Unholy (FIN) From the Shadows
The guitar tone and the drum sound are quite annoying. But the overall product and atmosphere are literally out of this world.
Unholy (FIN) The Second Ring of Power
It hardly gets more otherworldly than this. Absolutely sweet stuff.
Urarv Aurum
No frills, no theatrics, pure black metal done with taste and inspiration.
Urarv Substratum
A very unusual output. It is happy at times, melancolic at some points but without the usual cheesiness that usually accompanies these traits..

Warcrab Warcrab
crushing, the production is fantastic, riffing excellent, very good stuff. These guys have 3 guitarists, yet this is keeping it well focused, no wankery.
Windhand Windhand
Crushing, captivating, a thrill of a ride. Some of the best drumming in doom paired with truly special vocals.
Windhand Soma
Gritty, very headbangable, guitars are twisting your brains with all the emotions the vocals did not bring out already.
Windhand Grief's Infernal Flower
Same recipe, same unchallenged trademark quality.
Windhand Eternal Return
Nice flowing doom, a relaxing listen, I would have preferred to have a more engaging vocal style though.

I must say the production here is just stunning. Vocals are extremely powerful, the drums are hitting well but the atmosphere in itself is not so amazing.
Abysmal Grief Blasphema Secta
Abysmal Grief Funeral Cult of Personality
I have no clue why this is not better known. A band that once again proved they are amongst the best doom bands out there.
Abysmal Grief We Lead the Procession
Some amazingly delicious pieces of doom here, very organic, diverse and original. Some parts though seem to pointlessly meander.
Abyssal (UK) A Beacon In The Husk
Abyssion Luonnon Harmonia Ja Vihrea Liekki
Abyssion Rautapää
Easygoing and lots of fun but not in a cheerful way.
Abyssion Karhun lähde / Siniaaltoja ja singulariteetteja
Abyssion Psyykkinen taisto
Feels strongly influenced by Burzum and Arckanum without being a wrip-off
Accursed Womb Crushing the Larvae of Christ
So much filthy, banging stuff on this. Very diverse as well, getting caught off guard a lot on this one.
Acolytes of Moros The Wellspring
Acolytes of Moros Illusions of Progress
Slow and enjoyable, misses the kick and innovation to be really top notch. Also, I don't get why an EP lasts 40 minutes

Agalloch The White
Agalloch From Which of This Oak
Agalloch Faustian Echoes
Agalloch Of Stone, Wind and Pillor

This is very nice if you need a twist to the songs you have already listened over and over
Agalloch Whitedivisiongrey
I still cannot wrap my head around how cam they create such emotion with so little
Agalloch Tomorrow Will Never Come
One piece is usual Agalloch magnificence. The other one is actually pointlessly overriden by some spoken voice.
Ahab The Stream
The guitar tone is delicious , very
good stuff
Ahab The Oath
These are clasics. What's not to like. Amazing emotional, crushing tunes
Alder Glade Spine of the World
Alice in Chains Alice in Chains
Anatomia Decaying in Obscurity
Anatomia Cranial Obsession
Anatomia Corporeal Torment
Absolutely terrifying, slow, creepy walls of sound with extremely low gutturals.
Anatomia Human Lust
This feels like Anatomia met Saturnalia Temple. Great stuff
Anatomia Dissecting Cadavers
This is my kind of filthy dirge, absolutely sick stuff
Ancient Flame Tyrant Blood
Annog Vnrama Seven Names ov Chaos
Antediluvian The Divine Punishment
Less terrifying than their previous releases but still dark and creative.
Antediluvian λόγος
Antediluvian Prehistorik Khaos
This is mostly recorded in a rehersal environment so it's natural for it to sound the way it does but honestly I headbang to it all way through so I guess that's all that matters, right?
Antediluvian Primeval Cyclical Catastrophism
Pummeling, primal, relentless, having a low production level.
Antediluvian Revelations in Excrement
Very unorthodox stuff, needs very attentive listening to really get to the cave
Antediluvian Septentrional Theophany
7 minutes of insanity, cavernous wondering death metal on display
Anthropophagous Spoiled Marrow Demo
Anthropophagous Post-Natal Abortion
Anthropophagous Abuse of a Corpse

Arckanum Den Förstfödde
Arckanum Helvitismyrkr
Arckanum Antikosmos
Arckanum Arckanum - The 11 Year Anniversary Album
Enjoyable but not falling so well together , production is not so great either
Arckanum Demo 1993
Mixed feelings on this. The production is quite scrambled but at least the drums sound well and the atmosphere is quite warm. Vocals are excelent, the norm for Arckanum
Arckanum Boka Vm Kaos
Beautiful black metal, relentless, warm, mystical and very enjoyable.
Arckanum Kaos Svarta Mar
Excelent songwriting in display but it feels a bit watered down and not as raw and vicious as what I would have expected it to be.
Arckanum Antikosmos
This is very surprising for me: first song feels industrial whilst the second one reminds me of early Slayer. Enjoyable, of course.
Arcturus My Angel
Arcturus Arcturian
Arcturus Constellation
Worth checking but definitely not at the LP quality
Argonavis Passing the Igneous Maw
Arkheth Hymns Of A Howling Wind
Arkheth Clarity Came With A Cool Summer's Breeze
Extremely jazzy, mellower than expected but creative and interesting all throughout
Asphyx Necroceros
Asphyx delivers the goods, as usual; to make this even better imho production should have been rawer and riffing catchier
Asphyx Deathhammer
Asphyx Incoming Death
Asphyx Death... The Brutal Way
Asphyx Live Death Doom
Very good extensive live show but I would have prefered a rawer production honestly
Asphyx Carnage Remains
This sounds to me more like Sepultura meets Burzum, enjoyable 5 minutes
Asphyx Enter The Domain
Some exceptional songwriting on display but still awaiting for some finetuning in order to reign supreme
Atavisma The Chthonic Rituals
Atavisma On the Ruins of a Fallen Empire
Monstously heavy, like a heavy tank crushing souls. I wish though this was a bit rawer.
Atolah Post, Cross and Yoke
Catchy, crushing, trance inducing, quality stuff. Looking forward to a full length.

Bell Witch Mirror Reaper
Extremely slow, building emotion like a spider net, a truly amazing journey within your inner depths.
Bell Witch Four Phantoms
I have gone through many reviews of this and I can conclude there are no perfect words to describe this. My go at it: this is an intense experience, keeping the listener very attentive whilst variating from flying amongst clouds to nailing down to the ground with immense force.
Bell Witch Longing
Just imagine being in or around that building and hearing this play.r
Bell Witch Bell Witch Demo 2011
I rarely saw demos in the metal realm that are more accessible than the full lengths. This is really where to start in order to get into this band, a more accessible version of the goodies that came after it.
Bell Witch Live at Roadburn 2015
A true experience, monumental in all ways, giving you shivers down your spine.

Blut Aus Nord What Once Was... Liber I
Heavy, punchy, very enjoyable blast of black metal.
Blut Aus Nord Debemur MoRTi
Enjoyable ritualistic stuff, love the drums here, very innovative.
Blut Aus Nord Memoria Vetusta II - Dialogue With The Stars
A meditative passage through all depth of the soul. Really powerful.
Blut Aus Nord The Work Which Transforms God
Probably their most straightforward black metal album although it has some atmosphere and doom incorporated.
Blut Aus Nord The Mystical Beast of Rebellion
Melodic dissonance hovers over hateful vocals, wonderful stuff.
Blut Aus Nord Disharmonium - Undreamable Abysses
A very good album but the hooks are not working as well for me as their previous works
Blut Aus Nord Lovecraftian Echoes
Blut Aus Nord delibers another quality stab of hellish disonance
Blut Aus Nord Decorporation ...
Blut Aus Nord Dissociated Human Junction
Body Void Ruins
Reminds me a lot of The Body, mainly due to (quite unexpectedly) the vocals (they even look a bit alike, maybe with some Barney Greenway appearance mixed up in between). Very intense, crushing and diverse in terms of tempos and flow.
Body Void Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth
Slow and punishing, a constant wall of sound with massive riffs wrapped around truly despaired vocals
Body Void Atrocity Machine
Body Void You Will Know The Fear You Forced Upon Us
I have put this on like a go to sleep upon the first listen. Did not work. I started slowly headbanging in the middle of the might. Slow , well crafted doom with punchy and/or pinchy vocals that are just so good. Very well constructed lava flows topping one another under the foggy atmosphere. There are as well some fast paced for the stone showers fans.
Body Void Burn the Homes of Those Who Seek to Control Our Bo
This is incredibly dense, desperate and crushing. Don't listen to this whilst reading a suspense novel. Just sayin'
Bongripper The Great Barrier Reefer
Bongripper Heroin
Bongripper Hippie Killer
Bongripper Terminal
Bongripper Hate Ashbury
Bongripper Live at Roadburn
Very nice stuff, great song selection, the only problem I have with this is that it hardly feels live.
Bongripper Fisting
Starts with boring ambient - a genre Bongripper should really stay away from. Continues with a boring generic riff that overatays its welcome. And then it transforms into a masterpiece with amazing riffs, twists and atmosphere.

Burzum The Ways of Yore

Burzum From the Depths of Darkness
Burzum Anthology
Amazing songs of course but I do not think it makes too much sense to have them together like this
Burzum Anthology 2002
Better selection of songs than in the other one but it still feels wrong to mash songs like this.
Burzum Draugen - Rarities
A piece of history and of course amazing songs. The problem is that the first Burzum albums have bad production quality to the point that it sounds amazing and it is truly enjoyable. Worst quality passes the line and is no longer enjoyable.
Burzum Unreleased Material 1988-1994
Lovely both historically speaking but as well the riffing and the atmosphere are pretty sweet (in an evil sense of course).
Burzum Demo I
There is no logical reason to listen to this instead of the full lengths. Good thing we are not always logical.

Very chaotic as usual, it is harsher than the DsO norm although has quite some jazzy parts as well. It also gives you (like the DsO norm) the feeling you falling into the abyss.
Deathspell Omega Diabolus Absconditus/Mass Grave Aestheti
Hypnotic, atmospheric and downright creepy. Guitar work is very special here, really slow and spooky.

High on Fire Snakes for the Divine
This might get 'the worst soundoff prize' despite the massive competition but: to me part of this sounds like Maiden meets Kreator which is not bad per se but is below what hof offers in general. Also gets slower than the hof norm at times, interesting, not necessarily working well though.

Lord Vicar The Black Powder
Vibes come from all over the place, we need to start with Reverend bizarre, let's continue with the Ramesses crushiness , the eeriness Alice in Chains puts to the table and the vocals that have an Ozzy vibe. Despite all these this is very unique and really special. Heaviest trad doom I have heard. Yet, so full of emotions, I almost cried once I first listened the opening track, but of course I didn't because I am tough metalhead Coming back to the vocals, there are some amazing vocal parts in but also some that feel a bit cringy. Maybe it's as well due to the lyrics that are a bit hit and miss for me.
Lord Vicar The Demon of Freedom
Nice, slow and melodic. The lord was showing class from its first step.

Great thrashy banger. Hard to recognize MdB at this point but very enjoyable nonetheless.
My Dying Bride Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium
Amazing production for a 1991 demo. Very profound , heavy and mixing slow and relentless parts with grace. The violin gives a wonderful vibe full of emotion.
My Dying Bride Turn Loose the Swans
Very interesting and creative, a true behemoth that is standing tall under a gloomy and dark atmosphere.
My Dying Bride I Am the Bloody Earth
Some great mix of clashing doom, sweet guitar leads and soothing violins. It even has some good thrashy parts but the industrial and electronic bits don't work so well though.
My Dying Bride The Angel and the Dark River
Very sorrowful and melancholic with deep but uneventful vocals that developed a lot in the future albums.
My Dying Bride The Light at the End of the World
Riffing and drumming are superb but I would have one a better working atmosphere.
My Dying Bride The Voice of the Wretched
I like a lot the musianship and the song selection whilst the mixing is not too good imho. Guitars and drums are too thin, vocals are too loud and the way the croud noises are captured do not blend well.
My Dying Bride Songs of Darkness, Words of Light
Interesting flows, very atmospheric and unitary. Manages to take me a bit out my comfort zone.

great trad doom , a bit less inspired songwriting though than the usual reverend norm
Reverend Bizarre Thulsa Doom
Short and sweet, warm, easy going trad doom - at least for ears used to extreme metal. Vocals and overall atmosphere are excellent, as usual for this great band.
Reverend Bizarre The Goddess of Doom
Well well well... What a combination!!! The first song is a funny as hell "Christina Ricci"callouts but at the same time catchy, uplifting, doomy , what can I say more? Well, it also has the list of top tier doom bands, coming in out of nowhere but super interesting. Second is an excellent , original Dunkelheit cover, do I really need to say more?
Reverend Bizarre Slice of Doom
Soothing and also catchy. Very airy stuff with some unique synths in the background. This is trad doom with funeral, stoner and drone flavours but still so cohesive and good. Vocals are top notch for sure.
Reverend Bizarre Magick with Tears
Very solid trad doom with an interesting buzzing production in both the guitars and bass. These guys clearly had a hard time in doing anything wrong. Released after the band disbanded it contains the demo versions of songs from the debut album.

The vocals are the same as usual (great and unique that is) but are a bit lower in the mix and also seem a bit like a sample, always the same. Songwriting is very creative and inspired despite the massive repetition. Electronic elements are tastefully used and are generally bringing melody and undertones that make the songs feel complete.

Not sure what is with this one. I am not really feeling this, feels thin and uninspired.
Blut Aus Nord MoRT
Really weird and interesting, but would not pick this up too often.
Bolt Thrower Those Once Loyal
Brown Jenkins Welcome the Bitterness
Brutal Truth Perpetual Conversion
The tehno and industrial experimentation don't work in this otherwise excelent slab of grindcore
Burzum Hlidskjalf
Burzum Thulê
Cannibal Corpse A Skeletal Domain
Cannibal Corpse Live Cannibalism
Cardinals Folly Such Power Is Dangerous!
Good doom, hits all the right spots but fails to shine in any of them.
Cardinals Folly Our Cult Continues!
Good doom, nice atmosphere, worth several listens.
Cardinals Folly Holocaust of Ecstasy & Freedom
Freestyle, light doom with quite an interesting take on the traditional ways.
Caveman Cult Blood and Extinction
Caveman Cult Savage War is Destiny
Celestial Sanctuary Soul Diminished
Ceremented Chaos Mongering Degradation
Ultra beefy, a bass that is crushing any wall and absolutely demented vocals.
Coffin Mulch Septic Funeral
Doom death with good production and good arrangements and hooks. Vocals are some of the lowest guturrals in the game.
Conan Battle in the Swamp
Excelent stuff but the production is underwhelming.
Corrupted Garten Der Unbewusstheit
Corrupted Felicific Algorithim
Count Raven Demo '89
Well, first demo is normally having quite some flaws. This one too, annoying production and lyrics mainly. Greatness was yet to come but showing signs already, creative stuff.
Crypt Dagger From Below
This would probably work so well live. Really engaging riffs (hard to listen standing), varied in structure and neat sounding although at first glimpse this seems run to the mill speed black.
Cultes Des Ghoules Eyes of Satan
Darkspace Dark Space II
Intense, repetitive, truly frightening, there are some truly bone chilling moments in here.
Darkspace Dark Space III
Yeap, I feel this one is one is not as inspired as their others. Nonetheless, this is still a good spacial ride.
Darkthrone Land of Frost
Daudi Landvættir
Despite the short length it has lots of variation: doom , ambient, black and some sort of a viking like take on Uriah Heep.
Daudi Hel's Gate
I think they hurried a bit with this second one, a step down in quality versus the debut, especially on the vocal side.
Dead Congregation Graves of the Archangels
Dead Congregation Promulgation of the Fall

Very catchy. Best sounding drumming.
Underwhelmed by the vocals though.
DorDeDuh Valea Omului
DorDeDuh Har
Enjoyable but not at the level of awesomeness I would have expected.
Draug (USA-MS) Draug
Raw, fuzzed out death metal with insane drumming. Many nice hooks and solid riffing beneath the madness.
Draug (USA-MS) Ephemeral Utopia
A bit of a run to the mill cavernous death metal. Enjoyable but miles away from the quality of their LPs.
Dream Unending Tide Turns Eternal

Fluids Ignorance Exalted
Fluids Exploitative Practices
Forn Rites of Despair
Good atmosphere, very good balancing of melody and aggression but this could have been so much more than that with a better songwriting.
Forn The Departure of Consciousness
Good doom with some interesting dissonance interwined. Snail paced with a good raw punch and massive barrages of riffs. Still, I had trouble in fully embracing it and in maintaining the engagement throughout.
Fossilization He Whose Name Was Long Forgotten

Very nice , soothing and beautiful, truly enjoyed it.

Mellow black metal, some catchy stuff and really relaxing
Kraken Duumvirate The Stars Below, the Seas Above
Nice flowing, at times even soothing. Not rated higher as the vocals are not at all to my liking and the electronic effects were not fitting in well for me.

Mizmor מזמור
oh boy, the production here is harsher than most raw black metal. A bit of a torture to get through the ear piercing soundscape and vocals and the quite acclaimed 'II' with its extensive slow, atmospheric intro. But as per the rating, I somehow still quite like it, probably because how extreme, original and well written it is.
Moonspell The Butterfly Effect
Moonspell 1755
Moonspell Alpha Noir
Moonspell Darkness and Hope
Moonspell Sin/Pecado
Morbid Winds The Black Corridors...
catchy stuff, warm tones, a bit underwhelmed by
the vocals that are not doing it for me
Mortuary Drape Secret Sudaria
Good stuff, catchy and headbangable, a tad generic though for such a cvlt band and also a bit too polished in terms of production
Mortuary Spawn Spawned from the Mortuary
My Dying Bride The Thrash of Naked Limbs
Despite the name this is not thrashy at all, it's even ambient for quite a while. Heavy doom with vocals a bit alike Barney Greenway.
My Dying Bride God is Alone
Intense , fierce, chunky and choppy. Really fun and primal, the raw gem was popping up.
My Dying Bride 34.788%... Complete
Toned down, going through the same industrial feel era as Paradise Lost, Septicflesh and Moonspell but all those albums fail to impress both soundwise and songwriting wise. Don't get me wrong, this is still enjoyable but under MdB standards. One thing that many reviewers negatively mentioned is the disappearance of heavy riffs, not sure how come, they are definitely still there although indeed not as frequent as on other albums.
My Dying Bride Meisterwerk I
Mixed bag here, some demo, new mixes and other stuff. Some superb moments are going against some not so interesting demo versions.r
My Dying Bride Meisterwerk II
Only works well for fans, would recommend tons of other MdB releases to the casual listeners.
My Dying Bride For Lies I Sire
Failing to deliver the atmosphere it aims to, still enjoyable though.
My Dying Bride Evinta
I must admit I wouldn't have had the same level of patience with this if it was not MdB. Honestly not bad at all, classical music mixed with ambient, beautiful and relaxing most of the time.
My Dying Bride Peaceville Presents... My Dying Bride
I don't think I ever got into a band through a compilation but this surely is a good one.
Napalm Death Harmony Corruption
Necromantia Scarlet Evil, Witching Black
Abundance of Blackened thrash riffs keeps you entertained but it gets old a bit faster than expected. Atmosphere and keys are also not as spectacular as expected from such a cvlt band.
Nirvana Incesticide
Nirvana Bleach
Nocternity En Oria
Nostalghia (MEX) Lifeless
Soothing and beautiful. I get Evilfeast and Hermodr vibes from it.

Rippikoulu Musta Seremonia
Rorcal La Femme sans Tete
Drone and noise stuff, the build-up did not do too much for me, second part is pretty nice (in a dirgey, sorrowful way, of course)
Rorcal Myrra, Mordvynn, Marayaa
Strong, powerful, enjoyable but not super inspired and the vocals are not top level unlike most Rorcal outputs.
Rorcal Heliogabalus
Extremely intense and quite honestly one of the most tormenting soundscapes one can experience. The ritualistic parts are very creepy. As all in all not that much is happening, most of the feeling is coming from the atmosphere. Like the horror movies that are terrifying without being gruesome, just playing with your mind.

Urfaust Urvaterlicher Sagen
Soothing and dark, meandering vocals in synergy with the atmospheric instrumentation that flows like a slow dirge.
Venomous Concept Retroactive Abortion
Villagers of Ioannina City Riza
Very interesting blend of stoner, folk and traditional Greek music interwined with a number of unexpected instruments that made room...well.. unexpectedly... Cannot focus on anything else whilst listening to this.
Warloghe Three Angled Void
Entertaining, some excellent riffs, interesting atmosphere and quite a lot of diversity.
Watain Lawless Darkness

Interesting, varied stuff. Starting off with a banger that sits between trad doom and hardcore but changing the scenery to softer stoner aways whilst the sludge parts cannot be tossed away either.

Blut Aus Nord What Once Was...Liber III
Good sound but it meandours without a destination. I don't enjoy all that much the trip itself either.
Blut Aus Nord In The Mist [Demo]
Humble beginnings, doesn't do much to me, run
to the mill black metal.
Blut Aus Nord Yggdrasil [Demo]
I quite like the muffled production and the keyboard but I cannot add too many other things to my liking on this.
Blut Aus Nord Thematic Emanation of Archetypal Multiplicity
Ambiental and maintaining a rather flat rythm, nice listen but nothing more.

Celtic Frost Vanity/Nemesis
Circle Meronia
Nice flowing rock, some nice vibes there but nothing really great.
Darkthrone Fenriz Presents... The Best of Old-School Black Me
Draug (USA-MS) Ashen Heart
Only thing that stands out here is the drumming, everything else is just too muffled despite the very good control of the time shifts. Big step down from the quality of the 2013 LP.
Faustcoven In the Shadow of Doom
Superb production, bass sound is great. Songwritting is mediocre though and vocals are not working at all- would rate this higher as instrumental
Forming the Void Forming the Void
Underwhelming , kind of too 'modern' and
generic sounding.

Urfaust Einsiedler
Relaxing, soothing and nice but nothing very special.

2.0 poor
Abruptum The Satanist Tunes
I like the raw stuff but besides being somewhat frightening I don't get anything out of it
Barathrum Eerie
Some of the most annoying vocals. The rest is nothing special either, toned down, boring Black Metal
Celtic Frost Cold Lake
Grim tormentor Aggressor
Such a disappointment, very muffled production, hardly any original songwriting.
Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion I
Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion II
Metallica Load
Metallica Death Magnetic
Odraza Acedia
Atmospheric, ambient, electronic, industrial...ok..but this is very uninspired, blatantly boring, a very week interpretation of Darkspace's style. This is not 'my Odraza'
Rorcal Prelude to Heliogabalus
Drone ambient that uses electronic samples and that overall just does not do anything for me.

1.5 very poor
