| BTBAM Ranked | 1 | | Between the Buried and Me Colors
Simply put their best record. All the songs are bangers and throughout the whold record there are beautiful ideas. | 2 | | Between the Buried and Me Alaska
Probably their most heavy record, leaning more towards death metal sounds than prog ones. The selkies' solo is known for being one of the best in the genre, both for its role in the song and in its composition. The record flows extremely well even if it's not structured like their concept albums. | 3 | | Between the Buried and Me The Great Misdirect
Really hard to decide between this and Alaska for the 2nd place but i think TGM is a little less consistent, also because I'm not a big fan of songs that there are too long, though they manage to make them memorable (Fossil Genera is at least in top 5 of their songs). | 4 | | Between the Buried and Me Coma Ecliptic
I think this is a great prog record and a lot of songs are memorable. It is pretty long but the concept aspect of it makes it flow pretty smoothly. | 5 | | Between the Buried and Me The Parallax II: Future Sequence
Similar things to coma ecliptic, except i feel like this is way too long and it doesn't flow as well as CE does. Still they are pretty close and there are some extremely good songs over here too like Telos and Extremophile elite | 6 | | Between the Buried and Me The Silent Circus
This is pretty good but the band was still maturing and i feel like they didn't find their style. Mordecai though is really good and I think was the sign of their maturation. | 7 | | Between the Buried and Me The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues
I don't know how to feel about this record, the songs are good but i think they are pretty forgettable and parallax II does the same job but better. When I listen to this I think "I should just go and listen Parallax II". | 8 | | Between the Buried and Me Between the Buried and Me
Their first record is still immature and similarly to silent circus, they still needed to find their style. Unlike silent circus this record is also way too long for its genre. That said, I think there are some good songs over here and they are enough to put this over both Automatas. | 9 | | Between the Buried and Me Automata II
I think these 2 records are way too proggy and they make me just want to listen to coma ecliptic or parallax which have a similar style. I still think there are som good ideas in both of the records, like Voice of Trespass in 2 and Yellow eyes in 1, but the rest of the songs just feel really bland and kinda generic to me. | 10 | | Between the Buried and Me Automata I | |

10.24.20 | Horrible ranking, it's dry and moist. | mambocosmo
11.22.20 | Added comments with explanations. To further talk about the last 2 places I think that they are at about the same level. I mean, the albums are technically good, really great production and there some good riffs and solos, but that's literally all. They are not as epic as colors and not as hard hitting as alaska. They just seem a version of coma ecliptic and parallax with less ideas. I expected a lot and i was really disappointed. I hope my points are clear and constructive discussion is really appreciated. | Tundra
11.22.20 | this is fair, Auto is definitely far from their best, I think that their best days are behind them, imagine having your band have to follow up Colors time and time again? it must be pretty exhausting, ok... I'm going to compare them to Pink floyd now... dark side = colors, wish = tgm, animals = p1/2, wall = coma, ok *swift exit* |
