The film is, in my opinion David Lynch’s absolute best, it’s horrifying and agonizing to sit through, it’s easily the
most taxing thing i‘ve ever sat through, and that says a lot because Martyrs is one of my favorite movies... and
this soundtrack is equally as impactful. It’s dark and dower, with some downbeat jazz throughout, AND the
greatest OST track ever... THE PINK ROOM. If you’re going to watch this, watch the series first though, it’s well
worth it.

Legendary record. Sounds like it was recorded in an ancient crypt or something.

Avenged Sevenfold Life Is But a Dream...
One of the strangest albums I have heard from a major rock band like this. Almost completely inaccessible, and is genuinely experimental, and will surely alienate a majority of their fans. Instrumentally this album is tight and impressive, and Shadows sounds fantastic whenever he refrains from doing that odd old man voice. This jumps around so many styles and prances through a bunch of odd times at a break neck pace, one moment there will be a jazz jam session, the next second it will break into a Daft Punk sounding track, then some thrashy stuff. I was not bored once listening to this, and I respect the hell out of it. Really entertaining. r

For me this is their most well-rounded, enjoyable record. It doesn't have any lacking moments, which imo every one of their other albums have. The experiments feel more fleshed-out and natural, and the energy of the album is totally consistent throughout. Probably their best album, idc.

I guess i’ll be the first 5/5. This is one of my favorite horror film scores. It’s very unique and textured in a unique

Best black metal record of all time. So dynamic, so evil, so fucking heavy. The sense of melody and diversity of riffs are astounding. Incredibly dense and atmospheric, this film is a masterpiece, and this soundtrack is as necessary as any other

Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar
Ugly, catchy, heavy, the ultimate forray into Post-Downard Spiral pop-industrialism. There is such a huge variety of textures and sounds on this and it almost always sounds grotesque in the most uniquely earnest way possible. I think the biggest element lacking in his later work aside from the immaculate production by Reznor, is the vocal performance. This album shows off a very likable low-register shout that feels smothered in sewage. Manson goes through a lot of different styles here, and it keeps it feeling fresh and engaging opposed to how everything after this would feel like a rehashed stereotype.

Peste Noire Peste Noire
My favorite KPN release so far. The standout moments are unforgettable and leave me hungering for more, replaying songs regularly. The folk elements are really amped up, and a lot of the weird experimental elements are toned way down, i?d definitely say this album is the perfect starting point because it?s quite accessible. The female vocals and melodies on La Bche make it my favorite track hands-down. rI listened to this album 5 times straight in one sitting, and i can?t say i?ve done that before. I?m sure with time this will potentially bump up to a 5, but i still have a handful of albums to listen to by the band to compare. r

Undeniably one of my new favorite records. Brilliant musicianship front to back, with a truly timeless and distinct sound

sonic landscapes that feel like a precursor to the textures and feelings of The Mars Volta and Porcupine Tree. It’s a
dense record with memorable arrangements at all angles, and something new to discover with each listen.

Rush Counterparts
While its not as meticulously arranged as their prog classics, Counterparts is one of the bands most mature and impactful records. This is the one I come back to the most, and I truly consider it my favorite of their discography, in spite of objectivity and the cultural impact of their other works. It has a great blend of adult alternative sounds, and a hard rock grit that gives the album a real bite in some tracks. The lyrics are thoughtful and even touching, and I find myself lost in every track. The opening is one of the best openers the band ever did.
Rush Snakes & Arrows
Such a classy record that doesnt sound like anything else the band had done prior. I can tell a handful of tracks will be growers
Rush Different Stages
This is a barn burner of a live album. I personally love a lot of Test For Echo, and the title track is in my top 3 Rush songs, this live album has the best version of that song and Driven by a long shot. Totally blown away by everything here, but especially those tracks

Sort of the middle point between Tool’s Undertow and Godsmack’s debut. It’s raw, dark, and has the super heavy
Quicksand-y riffs that Tool utilized in their early work... it also has a great back and forth between the soft and
aggressive aspects. I like the production a lot more than Dysfunction, and the vocal performances here are
considerably better, in general i think this is the band’s best work.

Their best album hands down. Recently got really into STP, and after never paying any mind to this album for years, I finally gave it a spin and it?s my favorite without question. This thing has been my go-to album for a solid month.
Strawbs Hero and Heroine
Strawbs Ghosts
Might prefer this over Hero and Heroine. One of the best and least championed prog releases of the 70s. It?s so graceful and every single track has a moment or melody that I eagerly look forward to, making every listen engaging. It echoes Cat Stevens and bits of Genesis, but has an underlying darkness that is hinted at in the spooky album artwork. Favorite Track: idk, I cant choose, but Grace Darling comes to mind (those choir vocals are so wonderful)

at least 3 tracks here could be top 10 favorite songs of all time contenders. This soundtrack, and anime for that matter have a downright immaculate sense of atmosphere and emotional resonance. At its heart there is pain and anger, and this OST perfectly reflects that. Gats is easily my favorite track from any soundtrack, it's sad yet optimistic somehow... and given the context of the series, it's quite the painful composition. Ugh, magnificent.

The Cure Pornography
Quite literally the best album i‘ve ever heard. Every time i hear it is like hearing it for the first time. Nothing the
band has done before or since has matched this album’s confidence and motifs. It feels so organic and alive,
every song breathes and melts with the next. Listening to this album feels like destroying a piece of your soul and
then rebuilding it in solemn reflection. It’s dark and cathartic, and more ominous than even the bleakest metal
albums.
The Cure The Top
I wouldnt change a thing about this record. The lyrics on this thing are utterly psychotic, the bit about Smith sucking intestines out of cats is nuts and adds to the hazy, dreamlike surrealism that permeates this bizarre mishmash of an album. Easily my favorite The Cure album. I believe Pornography is their best, but personally this scratches an itch that others just dont. It?s like being immersed into a fever dream

I spent YEARS toting Strangeways as my favorite record by The Smiths, and revisiting their discography, it's clear that this stands supreme, and is truly one of the most impactful and gargantuan LP's ever released in music history. Not a single skippable track here, and it just exudes creativity and passion in a way that none of their others do. This album holds up as well today as it did then, and i'd argue it's only gotten better with time. Bless this masterpiece.

One of the most underrated DM debuts. The atmospheric elements and riffs make this thing sound so genuinely evil and intimidating. Better than a lot of the heavy hitter DM albums. Definitely deserves more love I think

Weakling Dead as Dreams
Weezer Maladroit
Maladroit takes the casual heaviness of Blue Album and injects it with the personal heartbreak of Pinkerton. Only
with a greater focus on memorable riffs and the best vocal melodies the band has accomplished. I don’t
understand why this is so underrated, even by its fans. There isn’t a single weak track here, and it’s more fresh
and energetic than some moments on Blue and Pinkerton. It’s on par with those two magnificent records and I’ll
die on this hill.

Deftones White Pony
Deftones Around the Fur
Deftones Saturday Night Wrist
Probably my favorite Deftones album, i wouldn’t rate it towards the top of their discog as far as overall pros and
cons, but the sweet, melody obsessed sound, spaced-out vibe of the album, and the majority of the songs being
10/10 masterpieces make this my favorite. Beware, Cherry Waves, and Mein are three of the band’s best songs
all in a row, and the Konami code track is a fantastic instrumental piece. I think it only stumbles a bit in the kinda
iffy Pink Cellphone and the second track Rapture, which i’ll admit that i’m not a fan of because i don’t much like
the band’s aggressive tracks. Even Elite from White Pony which a lot of people enjoy is something i just skip.
Thankfully aside from two weak (not even really BAD songs), the mountain of greatness shines above all. The
perfect late night drive album. Also, Hole In The Earth is probably the band’s best single, and was my
introduction to them, being featured on the Saints Row 2 soundtrack. That song is soaring and catchy as all hell.
Underrated album, check it out

Dream Theater Train of Thought
Bizarrely a crushing album. The prog wankery is there, of course... but there are also a slew of nu-metal elements, and bits which may have inspired A7X?s The Stage. It?s quite interesting. I enjoy Dream Theater, but i have to say, this is one of their best albums for sure.
Dream Theater The Astonishing
This is one of my top DT albums. I cannot understand the hate. I think they can get a bit boring whenever they wank around too much, and I don?t find their exclusively heavy material as interesting as stuff like Images and Words, and this album is like all of their best aspects without the wankery. I never listened to this until recently because of the runtime, but this thing held my attention and I found all of the new sounds and experiments very compelling. The sound is generally more in line with classic prog music as well. Honestly this album is great, and miles better than the two that came before and the two that came after.

Christian is a fantastic vocalist, and all of his projects are all around solid. This is one of the best albums in his

triumphant quality. This is pretty much a 5 for me, but the song about Jesus’ Hotel is not self aware enough to be
taken seriously. Awful track.

Didn't expect much outside the obvious aesthetic appeal, however what I found was so much more gratifying and masterful. This is easily one of the most consistent and fun albums I've ever listened to. There are elements of Blues, some early Beatles sounding stuff, even splashes of country and doo-wop, with some brilliant harmony work not unlike The Beach Boys, all wrapped in a lush 80's synth pop / jazzy sound. One of the best Apple Music finds in a long time. It plays like an 80s new wave / post punk album but with a heavy dose

The hooks and general sense of melody on this are fantastic. There is an impeccable atmosphere to many of the tracks, and the industrial textures give this such a unique, legitimately timeless vibe. evolution from the previous album. Taking bits and pieces and pushing them further and delving into some
bizarre yet charming new territory. Doubt my rating will change much.

Edit: yeah, after a few more listens, this is stellar. Not a bland moment imo. Kind of confused by the negative
soundoffs tbh.

Widowmaker Stand By for Pain
Falls somewhere between Soundgarden and Pantera, and it?s fucking awesome. Dee Snider kills it here, giving perhaps the performance of his career, as his rough howls fit this gritty, heavy as concrete style of material. One of the most underrated and unknown gems I have ever heard. I am a big fan of Dee Sniders work, and this was a nice find. High recommendation

This album utterly shits on Waking The Fallen. The god awful screamed vocals are gone, and the songwriting has improved exponentially. The melodic nature of this paired with The Beach Boys inspired harmonies and off the wall instrumentation make for an interesting and wholly unique experience, even now, nearly 20 years later. This might not be as mature and streamlined as Nightmare, but it is one of the most memorable slices of early 2000s hard rock and metal music.

Ugh i still like some of the songs from Believe more than this, but GOD this album is actually fantastic. Taking the
huge, melodic choruses of Believe and pushing it into the stratosphere. It’s a bit heavier at times, but the melodic
aspects are more anthemic and fleshed out, and i can definitely argue this is the band’s most realized work, even
if it’s not my favorite. This feels like the middle point between 80’s rock and Disturbed and it’s quite engaging for
an hour. Just Stop is my favorite track, that chorus is so good.
Disturbed The Sickness: 10th Anniversary Edition
Like it or not, this is contender for the greatest nu metal album of all time. Referring to the utterly dated and kinda
cringey definition of nu-metal (which i love tbh). Leaving out any objective qualities, this is the epitome of the

GHOSTEMANE Anti-Icon
If Ghostemane stays on course with his current trajectory, i could see him dropping something truly legendary.
This is the most convincing follow-up to Manson’s Antichrist Superstar and NIN’s Downward Spiral. The sound
and energy is completely on the nose here, and the songs themselves are fantastic and the occasional rapping
helps to keep this a bit more varied and unique, even if the lyrics themselves are just okay. My only real
complaint is the short length of the songs, in a lot of cases they feel too short or underdeveloped, and when they
don’t, the album is 5/5, particularly the later half. This brought me back to listening to Antichrist Superstar on
repeat as a teen, and i don’t think anything, even Manson has been able to do that since. If Ghoste were to
release a longer album with more developed songs, i could see it being solid 5/5 album. The pieces are all there.

I?ve always been more partial to piano oriented jazz, but lately i?ve been coming out of that shell a bit, Kaori is an incredibly talented Saxophonist with a very impressive discography that?s worth diving into if you like this sort of thing.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Mr. Bungle, but i definitely appreciate and enjoy their music, and it was pretty
interesting to see them return to this kind of music after so many years. Nothing too special but a very well
rounded and nicely produced Thrash Album nonetheless.

MUCC Kuchiki no Tou
MUCC Homura Uta
MUCC Sin Tsuuzetsu
My introduction to MUCC and one of the few Visual-Kei releases i’ve genuinely enjoyed outside of Dir En Grey.
This album is fantastically catchy and energetic with some wonderful grunge-y alt-rock melodies and punchy
instrumentation. I‘ve never listened to the original version of this album, but i’m eager to dive into whatever else
this band has to offer.

Favorite Track: Hai Sin
MUCC Shinsekai
This band can pretty much do no wrong. The structure is a bit misguided, making the album feel stylistically all over the place. But there is not a single bad track here. The band sounds as energetic and melodic as they always have.
Mudvayne Lost and Found
Murder by Death Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them?
Murder by Death Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon
Muse Origin of Symmetry
This album goes HARD when it wants to... this is an incredibly engaging and energetic album full of memorable riffs and great progressive musicianship. My only real complaint isn?t that the vocalist sounds a LOT like Thom Yorke... but that he inhales super loudly before every GODDAMN LINE, and for the most part it?s distracting and seriously hampers this album from being a 4.5 or even a 5 for me.

I think this album is consistently ?very good? but it?s definitely front loaded with some truly amazing tracks, making it less engaging as it goes on. That?s really my only complaint, as a whole this album is fantastic. It just needs some extra time to grow for the last half.
Rush Test for Echo
Apparently this is the first album I?ve ever heard, fresh out of the hospital when I was born. Honestly not a bad one either. One of their lesser-appreciated gems. Even at their worst, Rush is a class act and one of the greatest bands ever

A great marriage of groove-oriented alternative metal, and spastic nu-metal chaos ala their earlier works. It feels like a more personal take on Vol 3, and I think it works really well. One of the most influential releases for me, ever. Kinda forgot this existed, and was utterly gutted to see that all of this band's music had been systematically removed from the internet. Even sputnik? I'm sure it was on here before. Idk why Trash would want to do this. Even the music i've made that i'm not crazy about, i'm not going to erase, because even if there's one person out there who loves it, i'm not trying to deprive them of it. Thankfully i still have the discography on my old ps3. But like, come on man. The YEARS of work, different graphic artists, and the amount of money put into all of these records, it's insane to think that you'd just hit the erase button and say "nah fuck you, you can't hear this anymore." rThis is such an interesting and passionate band, and one whose music needs to be perserved. ridiculous.

Twisted Sister Still Hungry
Surprisingly I think the modern production benefits a majority of this reimagining. The heavier moments sound
STELLAR, even though the more anthemic tracks suffer as a result (not that I’m even a huge fan of those cuts in
the first place). But I have to say, this and the original album have just enough of a heavy metal edge to make
them stand above their contemporaries, a majority of this is more in line with something Dio would’ve done with
Black Sabbath. Mostly thanks to the excellent vocal performance and the occasionally doom-y guitars. It’s a very
good album, and this version is just as good.

This soundtrack, and the movie both vary from exceptional to obnoxious. I personally wish the film had toned
down the singing a bit. I love musicals, but ones which allow a breath between singing sections. Whereas here
nearly every line of dialogue was sang... a lot of times super awkwardly. OST is full of bangers tho.

Charming and moderately convincing Pink Floyd worship. To a degree where there are two vocalists, one doing a Gilmore impression, and the other doing a Waters impression. It?s shameless, but also novel because of it. Good album.

This is actually a very good album from a band who I straight up dislike. The vocal melodies are wonderful, and rthe overall ?soaring? sound of the album is something I?ve always appreciated. Believe, Mistress, and Rise are rmy favorites here, and even when the album gets repetitive, there are no standout bad songs. If it was maybe a rbit more varied, it would probably be a 4 for me.

Marilyn Manson The Last Tour on Earth
Marilyn Manson The High End of Low
Marilyn Manson Heaven Upside Down
I think the worst part of this is the fact that it feels like 2 fantastic records battling each other. Its an identity crisis in music form, and does not flow at all or produce any sort of aesthetic coherency. On one hand you have something that shockingly captures the old Industrial Metal sound with a breath of much needed energy and style, and on the other hand you have a really classy, brooding gothic slash post punk style affair with massive hooks and great melody and atmosphere. They don?t work together. The Pale Emperor is one of Mansons best because its an experience that feels introspective and has a unique and endearing atmosphere to it. Its a singular experience and every track compliments the last. This was a major misstep because the last one was so fantastic

Motionless in White Creatures
The sort of self loathing and breakdown focused writing that you would expect from the genre, but the sense of
theatrics and atmosphere make this sound fresh, even now. Very very fun stuff
Motionless in White Disguise
The nu-metal tracks are awesome, i think they really nailed it here. Too bad the other tracks range from meh to rgenerally good. Legacy is like a Fall Out Boy track or something and i definitely wasn?t a fan. I wish the entire ralbum had a singular direction, which is an issue i have with most of their stuff, aside from Creatures. BUT this is ra step in the right direction.
Motionless in White Scoring the End of the World
Goofy and stupid industrial metalcore nonsense, and its a ton of fun. Not vomit inducing cringe like their previous 2 albums, thankfully. Imagine Reincarnate but fully fleshed out and at home with its own sound. This is not an amalgamation of imitations and stolen ideas, this is the band coming into their own completely, and its kinda rad

A fairly big improvement on Break The Cycle. The flow of the album is far more natural and it feels like it has a
better idea of what it wants to be, and the music feels like it serves the melodic aspects better. Rather than
having a nu metal album with an identity crisis like Break The Cycle, this isn’t holding onto its past. It’s just
content with being a very melodic and catchy hard rock / post grunge album, and it EXCELS at that. Great album.

Protect The Land is a very solid SOAD track, although nothing special. Genocidal Humanoidz is stellar, i just
can’t help but feel the production could be a bit beefier, the songs come off as kinda thin sounding. Also that
black metal-y riff?? Friggin cool. But seriously, it felt so nice to hear new stuff from this band again... pretty
excited to see where this reunion goes.

A shockingly compelling slice from the later eras of Yes. It boasts an energy that the band hadnt exuded in decades, and there really isnt a bad track here. I think it would benefit greatly if it lost 15-20 minutes off the runtime, but color me surprised, this is closer to a 4 than a 3.

Idk, i keep trying but i absolutely cannot get into this album. I?ll say it and say it again, Chevelle is at their
strongest when they focus on melody and have an undercurrent of aggression. When the heavier stuff is pushed
to the front, it comes off as incredibly unimpressive to me. The sort of by-the-numbers hard rock riffs get a bit
mind-numbing after a bit. Idk. And the Tool wannabe Take Out The Gunman is a bit too shameless for my liking.
Chevelle is one of my favorite bands, and i cannot for the life of me see why this album is their most well
regarded

This certainly isn't a 2. Erin has a very consistent discography where a lot of different styles and influences from world to folk and soft jazz bleed into her warm compositions. This is easy to listen to and very laid back, but that doesn't make it bad. It's a warm blanket on a winter day.

Yeah, it?s surprisingly very good. Sterile and derivative in some spots, though less-so than previously, it?s oddly rcharming and full of ear worm moments. The focus on airy, dream-like soundscapes and organ arrangements are ra welcome change up, and makes this feel more like a love letter to 70?s rock, rather than a shameless cloning of rLed Zeppelin motifs. In a lot of ways this pulls from prog titans like Rush and some AOR elements which i didn?t rexpect. In spite of Zeppelin comparisons creeping up on cuts like My Way Soon, and the No Quarter-esque Age rof Machine, this manages to feel like a band coming into their own and i?m very much eager to hear where they rgo next.

Imagine Megadeth if they made a Pearl Jam album. This is actually a pretty solid record. Insomnia is kind of laughable, and Crush Em has the cringiest guitar lick ever, but tracks like Bread Line and Ill Be There are total ear candy. Great melodies and vocals on those tracks. After a string of perfect singles, it?s a bit depressing to admit that while the first 6 tracks are fantastic and memorable, the last 4 kill the streak and fall into a pit of slow, sedated same-y acoustic tracks. The impeccable Peter Gabriel - So vibes of tracks 3 and 4 never pop up again, the energy of Bubblegum Dog and the bright, lush pop of Nothing To Declare never return. It just sinks into a swamp of forgettability and ruins what would?ve been a highlight of the year for me. Maybe re-arranging the tracklist would alleviate this, but i?m not so sure. Disappointing.

Some of the band’s best material smothered in Waters’ ego and an onslaught of the same melodies and motifs
almost nonstop. This does not work as an album, it works for the film adaptation, but listening to this is such a
slog, and the uneven distribution of creativity really became apparent here… there are only so many times a
person can hear that 4-note riff repeatedly for almost 90 minutes without going insane, yet everyone has
convinced themselves that it’s totally okay.

Pretty ok album. Nothing particularly special or really anything above their previous work. definitely their weakest
album, but there are some good riffs / moments here and there that make this worth at least one listen. The weird
trap influenced bits aren't bad in my opinion, but they've done similar ideas better in the past. So really, this is just
a generally disappointing release from a band who has proved they can do so so so so so much better.

This album has some great moments, a lot of stuff that felt plucked from Vol 3. My main issue is that this does not deserve to be 65 minutes? this overstays its welcome tenfold. The cuts that try to capture the aggression and energy of early releases dont work as well as they used to, making the standout tracks the softer moments, or the ones which find a good balance. Tracks like Custer and Skeptic ironically slow down the album too much for my taste. Overall I like the sound more here than the follow up, but it lacks pacing and consistency, and I find myself playing All Hope is Gone far more than this. Probably their worst album

For some reason the downfall of this band in particular makes me sad. They’re probably the only late 90’s/2000’s
adult alternative band who feels sort of timeless, and have a massive collection of solid-to-near-perfect albums
that are always packed to the brim with fantastic songwriting and melodies. To see them abandon their typical,
effective style for an ironically more dated take on 2010’s pop is damn depressing, full of woah-oh’s and generic
hooks, it comes off as soulless.. even if i still love the vocals. There is absolutely no personality to this at all and i
honestly kind of HATE it. Sad. They clearly still have the ability to make music, John’s voice sounds just as good
as it did two decades ago, just wish it wasn’t this...
