Christ. Put simply, this is everything a debut should be. It's defining of their sound (extremely), fun as hell, musically impressive, and carries many various interesting rhythms. It's a must-listen for anyone interested in percussion. It gets you off of your seat and kicks stress' ass. This is by far one of the greatest debut albums and should be loved.

This album takes you through a nonstop and much needed adrenaline rush, not only keeping you entertained and unzombified unlike failures that try to be heavy but instead just drag you slowly through mud. If you want a fun, fast, but precise album with superb musicianship then this is the band to get it from. Finally a band with energy that I don't get tired of hearing.

Summer fun in all degrees. The heavy and fast, pretty and melodic, and the feel-good lyrics. With songs like "India Ink", "Daisy Cutter" and "Something Out Of Nothing" it's hard to ignore the obvious kick the band has at knowing how to inject energy into any tune. For a quintet to survive many years together and still produce original, positive music is something to be noted.

Some might say this is like trying to squeeze the smallest amount of toothpaste out of its flattened tube, and they might not be wrong. But when you're watching Jeff hypnotize everyone in a darkened room with sweat beads rolling down his face, its hard to care.
A very satisfying purchase if you're interested in his tragic and beautiful legacy.

This isn't a grower as it is a gift. With a huge amount of new songs ranging from opposite sides of the genre spectrum, RHCP continue to expand their legacy by proving that they have just as much soul and fun as they did since Mother's Milk.
But don't get me wrong, they've clearly evolved.

The music is completely fine, but the vocals can get too ridiculous at times. Maybe that's point of a 'noise rock' album but I'm not particularly digging it. Shouldn't be overlooked by people thast are interested in a different kind of background music.
