Kingdok's 2018 |
1 | | Nekrogoblikon Welcome to Bonkers
A truly uniquely styled album, where Nekrogoblikon take their trademarked keyboard-led melodeath and throw in a little of everything: punk, ska, 80s synth pop, bluegrass, and so on. A very avant garde feel pervades the album, it rewards over repeated listens and is now firmly ensconsed as an all time favourite.
The Magic Spider. |
2 | | Dog Fashion Disco Anarchists of Good Taste '18
An album that originally felt flat as a result of an iffy mix now properly hits hard. The spot-on production really shows off the musical variety. This band can do no wrong in my eyes.
9 to 5 At The Morgue |
3 | | Therapy? Cleave
Was a little underwhelmed with their last album, but this one easily clears the boundary. On the surface, their most simple since Semi Detatched, but the forceful attitude combined with the very Troublegum inflected atmospherics rounds it off superbly. Kings of the oil-can snare.

4 | | Dog Fashion Disco Experiments in Embryos
Although it's slightly let down by the nature of being two halves of two different albums, the quality of songs still shines. 10 awesome songs rather than one awesome album.
Satanic Cowboy. |
5 | | Spanish Love Songs Schmaltz
Thought The Future's Cancelled would always stand alone as a pop-punk record that became a personal favourite. Now there is this too.
El Nino Considers His Failures |
6 | | Vein Errorzone
Quitting Infinity |
7 | | Rolo Tomassi Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It
Always found these guys hard to get into, finally succeeded with this.
A Flood of Light. |
