LotusFlower 03.22.16	I'd say that By the Way has a pretty heavy genre blending kind of weirdness you'd expect from someone like Patton and a song like By the Way has some pretty out there sounds with it's heavy drinking riffs and raps and electronics. Not to mention this album was kind of the aftermath of the two bands little drama episode. But hey! If you don't agree you still have 20 other choices to check out.

JigglyPDiddy 03.22.16	To be honest, the instrumentation in BTW has always felt like a watercolor painting to me. The slippery, beautiful riffs, the colorful synths and the usual RHCP groove all blending together like colors in water... it's genre blending in ways, but on a different basis from Bungle. But yeah, I see your point. Now I really want to listen to BTW again. Ugh.
LotusFlower 03.22.16	Its a nice album, and out of everything here it IS the one with the least similarities (except maybe Diablo Swing Orchestra) but it does a pretty good thing with genrebending so I think it can fit on philosophy alone.
