| Albums That Genuinely Surprised Me
Albums that exceeded my expectations. Could be due to previous bias because of the band's prior work or because I used to think they were stupid. Anyway, all of these are great albums. If you have any albums that surprised you, leave them in the comments below. Maybe they'll surprise me too. | 1 | | I See Stars Treehouse
Didn't go in expecting much since I didn't like New Demons, but man is this catchy. I can see myself digging this for a while. Basically the catalyst behind making this list honestly. | 2 | | Hawthorne Heights Hurt
I hadn't listened to anything since If Only You Were Lonely back in my youth, so I went in with low expectations as their first two albums haven't aged that well. Hurt is a surprisingly solid album that made me want to listen to the rest of their prior releases, which are admittedly not as good as this. | 3 | | Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience
I used to hate hearing JT come on the radio. However, after enjoying his work with The Lonely Island, I decided to give this album a shot. And damn do I love it. I'm not a big fan of anything before this except a few tracks off of FutureSex and Cry Me a River, but this got me into JT. | 4 | | Taylor Swift 1989
Pretty much the same story as JT, but I don't like any of her previous work. Decided to give this a shot when I heard that she dropped all of her country influences on this one. And I'm glad she did as she can make one hell of a pop album. | 5 | | Panic! At the Disco Death of a Bachelor
As a sorta long time fan of Panic!, I wasn't sure what this album was going to be like as it's just Brendon Urie and I didn't really like the singles that came out. Also, FOB made another shit album and the singles seemed to be wanting to do the same thing. What actually came out was a really good summer pop album. I'm glad I gave this a chance as it has some strong, catchy hooks all over this. While it's not Vices or Fever, it still surprised me with how good it was. | 6 | | RiFF RAFF NEON iCON
I thought RiFF RAFF was just a joke artist until I listened to this. While I still think his career is a joke, he can produce some bangers. Production is on point, beats are solid, and his rapping is stellar. Can't wait to see him live, it's gonna be a shitshow | |

07.26.16 | Eminem - Relapse
I know this is one of his most disliked albums (if not the most) but I give it a 4.5 honestly. | treeqt.

07.26.16 | I know it seems odd, but that's really what made me curious to listen to him. He has a great voice, and he just didn't click with me until I heard him with The Lonely Island. I don't really listen to their music, but I enjoyed the skits he did with them enough to give him a listen | Typhoon24
