09.20.14 My 10 Favourite Albums

My 10 Favourite Albums

Most of this list is from the 90s but that is when I first experienced music from my lovely sister who was a rteenager at the time and I was just a wee lad. This list is just a top 10 of my favourite albums to listen to at rany given time.
10Miranda Lambert
Revolution

The token country album. Miranda is one of my all time favourite singers. She is true to herself and does what she wants. A few months ago my
uncle passed away and her music helped our family heal from that loss. Even if you're not a country fan, I highly recommend this album.
Dead Flowers, Makin' Plans, Virginia Bluebell
9Matthew Good Band
The Audio Of Being

Oh, look... another Matthew Good album! FANBOY ALERT! Anyway, this album is chaos. It wasn't popular at the time which is a shame because
it is utterly brilliant. Matthew Good is bipolar, and this sure as shit shows it.
Man of Action, Camelina, Sort Of A Protest Song
8Matthew Good
Avalanche

Matthew Good's first solo album. I bought this when it first came out. I was on a church youth group trip to Vancouver at the time and I made
sure I bought it the first chance that I could. I believe I was 15 and it blew me away. It is a masterpiece in his collection of brilliance. Ugh..
fanboy talk...
Weapon, Avalanche, While We Were Hunting Rabbits, House of Smoke and Mirrors
7Sarah McLachlan
Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

Oh Sarah... A lot of her music is well... music to slit your wrists to. Her voice is so beautiful and pure. This is a really odd one for me as
generally this kind of music is a little mellow for me to listen to a full album of. But she has so much emotion in it. Her voice and song writing is
at her best on this album.
Possession, Elsewhere, Hold On
6Soundgarden
Superunknown

Another album that I would regularly steal from my sister. I would drive my family nuts with this one summer while we were camping. I think I
was probably about 7 years old. I would play it over and over and over again.
The Day I Tried To Live, 4th Of July, Mailman
5Tori Amos
Boys For Pele

Wow... just wow... what a fucked up album. Seriously, it is a mess of epic proportions, but it all works.
Caught A Lite Sneeze, Marianne, In the Springtime Of His Voodoo
4Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow

I have a thing for underdog albums. After her huge success with her first album, she came back with this AMAZING album. It is severely
underrated and overlooked.
Maybe Angels, Redemption Day, The Book
3Matthew Good
Hospital Music

Matthew Good is hands down my favourite artist. This album hit me hard as I was going through an extremely rough time in my life. I had been
recently diagnosed as bipolar, and at the same time he had been too. He put all the anger, the hopelessness, the HOPEFULLNESS into words
that I could not speak. It gave me hope.
Champions Of Nothing, 99% Of Us Is Failure, The Boy Come Home
2Alanis Morissette
Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

This is a very complex and often confusing album. It should not of worked. It should of fallen flat on its face. But to me, it is utterly brilliant.
Can't Not, I Was Hoping, Joining You
1 Smashing Pumpkins
Siamese Dream

My all time favourite album. My sister had bought this CD when I was about 7 years old. I would steal it from her and listen to it non-stop. To
this day, I love this album.
Soma, Mayonaise, Spaceboy
